@@DJGerryfromStarlightMusic WOW! Feel like I'm communicating with an actual rockstar! I've watched your videos thru out the Stones '21 tour. You helped me thru Charlie's death, which almost felt like an immediate family member dieing. I've been a Stones/classic rock nut since they played two dates in my hometown of Boulder in '81. All my life I've been surrounded by people who aren't particularly fond of them and it is so refreshing to hear from fellow Stones fans! Please keep it up!!!

@@DJGerryfromStarlightMusic Awesome! I was 12 years old and a Bee Gees fan. I could hear the concert from my front yard and that piqued my interest. I rode my bike to Rocky Mountain Records and Tapes and bought Tattoo You with allowance money. My parents were of the WWII generation and were horrified at my newfound interest in rock music. I feel there are better bands, musically, but my absolute love and affection for these guys individually will never waiver. Last saw them at Mile High Stadium in Denver 8-10-19. Unbelievable! As pathetic as it may sound, probably the BEST DAY of my adult life! Thank you SO, SO MUCH!!!

Thanks for this, Gerry. I was hoping since Charlie's passing that they'd all go over after the US tour (since the plane was all gassed up and everyone was already together) to pay their respects in person to Charlie and his family. It just made so much sense to do it that way. Mick, during the last tour show, alluded to travelling in the next couple days after the gig, and now we know why. A fitting musical tribute.💞 🥁 🕊️

The Tattoo You bonus disc imo actually resonates like a cohesive new Stones album thematically, with thanks to the recent work by Mick Ron and Charlie...and I am still hoping for the studio album they have supposedly been working on since Blue and Lonesome. Charlie fans if you havent already check out on youtube the video Stan Levey meets Charlie Watts. Stan was the great jazz drummer from the 40s worked w/Parker, Miles, Diz and others.Charlie and Jim Keltner visit him at home and it is wonderful to see these legends hanging out, especially with Stan and Charlie now gone...

Bill Wyman is 85 years old. Does he still do public shows with his jazz band? I believe he is unofficially retired.
That is one of the reasons Mick, Keith and Ronnie should tour one last time, sooner than later. At some point ,the energy just ain't there, playing for even 90 minutes on stage is not professionally feasible. You see now, Mick needs three, four days off between gigs to physically recover and prepare for the next gig where he sings 15-16 songs.
It looks like they will do 10- 12 European stadium shows next summer.
And that just could be it.

    • @danieladias985
      @danieladias985 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Considering their age, it's natural for the Stones to slow down in order to continue touring. Especially Mick, who has a more physical performance than the others. As for Bill, it looks like he too has had to deal with or is still battling cancer lately.

In that case they would be playing in my home town on a demolition site made into a car park. I saw them at the Winter Gardens in Bournemouth in February 1964, aged 16 and still at school. The Winter Gardens, a superb venue, was knocked down by the local council and is now a car park awaiting new development, probably another big hotel or apartment block. Sad. I last saw them, three times, here in UK in 2018 and look forward to them coming back next year when NOTHING will stop me seeing them again! Rolling on with the Stones and still loving that band.

Also , I so appreciate your videos of the 2021 No Filter tour and the chat streams.I know it had to have been difficult and costly for you and DJ Dallas --- Thank Dallas for me too.
I think there will soon be a new addition to the Rolling Stones' family ( and I'm not talking about Steve Jordan ! ) .I was looking at photos Mick and his Significant- Other took of themselves relaxing on Miami Beach and I noticed something important that perhaps only a woman would notice at this point. I dunno. i tend to think it is actually an easy decision for them. Charlie CLEARLY wanted them to go on without him. And, if they are up to playing and carrying on and want to themselves which they seem to be then the decision is pretty easy i think. Honestly i had more concerns at the start of the tour mostly about Keith. He was struggling a LOT to play with his fingers and hands being in the condition they are. They seem though to have made it thru ok and actually as the shows progressed sounded pretty good. Ronnie is such a great guitarist as well and he can do a lot of fills for keith so it all works out ok still. In any event..after decades of attending their concerts ....my first one being in 1975 and so many since... i decided to make 2019 be my last. I sort of felt then that age was catching up to them and either one or more wouldnt then be around OR musically i'd wind up disapointed. I've played guitar myself for 53 years and i felt even in 2019 that things were starting to deteriorate somewhat. Even with Ronnie. I think its VERY noticable to go back to 2015 and compare his midnight rambler with a show today. I decided with the utmost respect for them still to call it quits and just go back and relisten to the decades of albums and music they did. Honestly, i think they could get away with a concert where they did nothing but come out and TALK for 2 1/2 hours. I recall that exhibitionism event they had and mick and ronnie walking thru just talking about old photos. FASCINATING. I just didnt want to see them come out and struggle trying to be what they couldnt be anymore musicially. oddly enough though..they might have fooled me :) Anyways...DJ GERRY (and son). Love your channel. Your streams and commentary are 1st rate for us stones lovers . Happy Holidays :)

Nice for Charlie. Classy. Support for Steve Jordan from the family and the band was great. Even though Mr. Jordan had worked for Letterman and Keith's Winos, and is a very fine musician, I'm sure he had some apprehension. I knew a neighbor of Steve's. A good person.

A not asked for opinion: the Stones may do some small 60 years celebration tour but they have to step up the game a bit. Resuscitate Bill Wyman for the role as bassist, add Mick Taylor as to ensure we hear some guitar playing and invite the former bassist Dick Taylor to play something with them, be that guitar, bass or foot tapping. Ron Wood shall pull out some back vocals, he can do that along with playing guitar as we have clearly seen.

They should do the right thing and stop now that Charlie is gone. Honor him by saying its not the Stones without him. Because that is the truth. Ive been to over a dozen shows since 81 But I would never pay the huge money it costs to see them without Charlie Watts. 60th anniversary shows with two original members? This is not the Beach Boys. Steve Jordan does not fit in as a drummer. The songs are suffering big time with his crap, bland playing.

What I'd like (and have for about five plus years) is an all new studio album. Blue & Lonesome was simply fabulous .. very special... I was taken back by it... however I do wish they would finally finish this studio album they have been grinding off and on for five or six years (technically six years this month).

It is completely natural for Charlie but since Brian, they never paid tribute to him on stage, during a concert , never even pronounced his name or showed pictures of him on concerts , or paid tribute at his anniversary, not once in 50 years!
They paid tribute to him once when he passed away and it was in 1969 but after all these years , it was like he never existed.
They even paid tribute to Ian Stewart with a whole book dedicated to him, but never Brian.

You think Bill was the turd here? There is no doubt in my mind it was the Stones not asking him to play. They let him play two songs with them in London during the 50th anniversary shows. He was prepared to do entire shows. And it was said he didnt play with his old band mates it didnt say he didnt play.

Whatever happened to Brian Jones ? Since Brian's departure ? the Stones went down the drain ; let it bleed- stickey fingers- exile ? Mic Taylor is great ; I don't care how good you play guitar 🎸 fast, slide + doesn't mean shit 😷 because the songs are inferior ; more hot rocks is way better, tell me, she's a rainbow 🌈 ruby Tuesday and virtually all until - let it bleed - jumping Jack flash ; it's okay how they changed it, but you'd would think with Wyman's great bass, they'd do it again ? no, satisfaction ; the early fuzz guitar 🎸 is better
