@@cloudstrife7566 Generally when people try to dismiss the MeToo movement, they fall into 2 main categories, with a few smaller ones (I won't talk about them)1st are people who believe the MeToo movement has been hijacked by the far-left and has been corrupted from it's original intent, which was outing actual predators and giving a voice to people who have been abused by those in power. The second and larger group are generally hateful pricks who think that people like Weinstein or Cosby did nothing wrong, the women in question brought it on themselves or deserved it etcv etc. So when someone posts a statement like you did with no explanation... what group do you think a lot of people are going to lump you into?

Famous people with money and power can dodge the backlash of rape and abuse accusations even if they turned out to be true 3. The movement is obviously not about trying to encourage false rape accusations; in fact most self-respecting feminists (like me) are disgusted that it happens at all, because it discredits the testimony of actual victims and gives credence to the “(insert famous scumbag here) did nothing wrong, she was lying” crowd- I personally think that false accusers should be punished, but _only_ if there is *incontrovertible and decisive proof that it was an act of slander,* because the last thing I want is to discourage actual rape victims from reporting what is already a shockingly underreported crime (mostly because of the culture of victim-blaming we have that really needs to change first)

Changes is easily one of the worst song of the year. X's fans were saying that his music was so deep and relatable, but that song was the most basic shit I've ever heard. People who enjoy XXXTentacion really need to listen to better music.

Lucas Dias I agree about the overplayed statement. I hate when people say they hate a song for that reason. Reasons to say a song is bad are things we can blame the artists, writer, or producer for. And it’s none of those people’s faults a song gets played into oblivion. Heck, sometimes overplay can help me appreciate a song a little more
B-HOP I actually disagree with FRIENDS in this list. It’s not perfect but it’s also not terrible. It’s just an EDM/Pop song that I nonetheless find enjoyable. That said though, Better is the better song out of the two charting songs that Marshmello released this year. I’d replace FRIENDS with Girls Like You by Maroon 5 though. Now that song is horribly mediocre.
State of Hot 100 in 2018: Rather dicey. Annual "Worst Songs" lists: Extra spicy. Are these two phenomena correlated? Quite possibly. Cathartic? Yes. Hotel? Trivago.

It certainly wasn't as bad as 2016, as we weren't left as starved of good songs as that year if we're going by the YE Hot 100. Plus, the phrase I used fit the rhyme scheme of the first line better.
Not a Post Malone fan by any means but just for your info: 'I Fall Apart' was kind of written as a joke. It's about a 'girlfriend' he had for one day when he was 8 years old so I personally just view it as self-satire. I know there's no way to know that via the song itself but it's a fun fact nonetheless.

For me 2018 was a worse year for the Hot 100 than 2016 because at least we didn't have hits and popular artists as "morally reprehensible" as Diamond Axe Studios channel described as this year's. I would say Anne-Marie is like Natasha Bedingfield with even less personality. I'm surprised A Dose of Buckley didn't have your #1 pick in his list.
One of the most excruciating things I've seen this year is two white girls singing and rapping every single word of Freaky Friday because they knew it would annoy then mother who is a massive prude. If that's not the perfect representation of the songs audience I don't know what is.
My personal philosophy is that it's OK to like things (movies, video games, music, w/e), but in the case of 'Freaky Friday' I draw the hardest of lines. I hope those young ladies look back on them liking that song and feel the deepest of shame.

I personally don't really have a top 10, but some of my least favourite "hits" from this year were: "Meant to Be", "Him & I", "I Like It", "The Middle", "Lucid Dreams", "Friends", "Bad at Love", "Wait" and "FEFE". 2018 in review: The Year of Trap and Emo Rap. Seriously, hip hop fans must be loving how relevant and widespread hip hop/rap is.2018 Year where Pop reaches the bottom of relevancy. The Year where K-Pop began baby steps on the chart.The Year where Country Pop and Reggaeton started making dangerous strides towards the top of the charts. The Year where Justin Timberlake involuntarily ended his career Not the dumpster fire that was 2016, but honestly, this year for the most part was mediocore for the Hot 100. Not many charting songs truly stood out for either great or being good awful. A lot of them were either passable, meh or complete drivel. I don't expect 2019 to be any better.

I don’t think Sad was that bad of a song! Changes was mediocre but sad has a preety uplifting beat. The lyrics are better than most songs. I won’t rewrite history but if there is one thing I know, is that he tried to change. Changes is his only bad song but every other song is either ok to just amazing! I’m not saying this because he died. I’m saying this because he is a good artist with a troubling past. RIP X :(. I also have to say, Freaky Friday was a good song with a weird message. Most of the reason he used for the song being bad was the mediocrity of the lyrics. I have to say they are preety awful but it at least conveys a story. The beat and everything else is preety good.
I personally don't mind AJR or Lil Yachty. LY isn't great, but he has a fun charm to him, and his bizarre voice is endearing. And I absolutely love AJR. I legitimately cannot understand why anybody would hate them. Also, I heard that song. It's not that bad.
Also, for what it's worth, in regards to #7, don't worry about being 'controversial.' That song has ended up on SEVERAL worst lists already. The critics of TH-cam have shown little to no mercy regarding the artist in question.
Even then, this is the song that does deserve that kind of wrath more than Sad. I mean, it's like Mark said in the week he covered it, at least Sad sounded like a finished song.

That happened to me beat-for-beat; I got into his music in 2018, drifted from it as I discovered more music and came into my own as a listener, and was somewhat embarrassed of my emo-trap phase by 2020. Don't mean to sound like a fanboy here who would kowtow to white rappers and defending them, sounding like someone who doesn't know what real hip-hop sounds like, but hear me out, I'm an NF fan and you got the concept of "Let You Down" wrong. He is not talking about his father in the song, he's referring to himself, how he let himself down as NF considers himself a perfectionist and he couldn't live up to his expectations. And I know you got an aversion to high pitched or chipmunk vocals, but the high pitched voice is meant to represent his younger self, talking to himself, how he let himself down. The music video is even more apparent as there is a male figure who is presumably NF's father watching NF drowning but it culminated to a lady calling the male figure "Nathan", which is NF's real name. He is watching himself drowning. He is not just a white rapper with tight flows with nothing to say. He's gone through a lot of shit from being abused as a child and his mother dying from drug overdose and he talks about his hardships in his songs. But hey, I am a fan of your channel and I sound like a total fanboy here but I believe I stated my point.

I mostly agree with the list except was surprised at how low some songs were. I was certain "Meant to be" was going to be top 5 and "Lucid Dreams" would be in the top ten. I think the year's worst music was typified by laziness in that some seem to think drum machines, a bit of trap and hollow lyrics were good enough and in some cases the public lapped it up. Wish it'd stop
In the case of Sad, he did say Changes was worse for a reason. Still a bit surprised with no Gummo, but Fefe more than makes up for it, if you asked me.

2018: it wasn't the worst year of the decade in terms of hits, but boy, did it test my patience. DHM1: The song sounds like it had as much effort put into it as the ringtone rap from the 2000s. Loved the jab at Marshmello, that one made me laugh. DHM2: Fuck you, Maroon 5. You suck. DHM3: I can't understand its existence and I always keep a straight face whenever it comes on. DHM4: This one will be a dishonorable mention on my list purely because of overplay. DHM5: It sounds like a combination of Eminem's early 2010s stuff with Linkin Park's Numb.... but sloppily executed. DHM6: That chorus is in my top 10 worst of all time. Lucas Dias I agree about the overplayed statement. I hate when people say they hate a song for that reason. Reasons to say a song is bad are things we can blame the artists, writer, or producer for. And it’s none of those people’s faults a song gets played into oblivion. Heck, sometimes overplay can help me appreciate a song a little more
B-HOP I actually disagree with FRIENDS in this list. It’s not perfect but it’s also not terrible. It’s just an EDM/Pop song that I nonetheless find enjoyable. That said though, Better is the better song out of the two charting songs that Marshmello released this year.
I’d replace FRIENDS with Girls Like You by Maroon 5 though. Now that song is horribly mediocre.

It certainly wasn't as bad as 2016, as we weren't left as starved of good songs as that year if we're going by the YE Hot 100. Plus, the phrase I used fit the rhyme scheme of the first line better.
Not a Post Malone fan by any means but just for your info: 'I Fall Apart' was kind of written as a joke. It's about a 'girlfriend' he had for one day when he was 8 years old so I personally just view it as self-satire. I know there's no way to know that via the song itself but it's a fun fact nonetheless.

For me 2018 was a worse year for the Hot 100 than 2016 because at least we didn't have hits and popular artists as "morally reprehensible" as Diamond Axe Studios channel described as this year's. I would say Anne-Marie is like Natasha Bedingfield with even less personality. I'm surprised A Dose of Buckley didn't have your #1 pick in his list.
One of the most excruciating things I've seen this year is two white girls singing and rapping every single word of Freaky Friday because they knew it would annoy then mother who is a massive prude. If that's not the perfect representation of the songs audience I don't know what is.
My personal philosophy is that it's OK to like things (movies, video games, music, w/e), but in the case of 'Freaky Friday' I draw the hardest of lines. I hope those young ladies look back on them liking that song and feel the deepest of shame.

Not the dumpster fire that was 2016, but honestly, this year for the most part was mediocore for the Hot 100. Not many charting songs truly stood out for either great or being good awful. A lot of them were either passable, meh or complete drivel.

I don’t think Sad was that bad of a song! Changes was mediocre but sad has a preety uplifting beat. The lyrics are better than most songs. I won’t rewrite history but if there is one thing I know, is that he tried to change. Changes is his only bad song but every other song is either ok to just amazing! I’m not saying this because he died. I’m saying this because he is a good artist with a troubling past. RIP X :(.
I also have to say, Freaky Friday was a good song with a weird message. Most of the reason he used for the song being bad was the mediocrity of the lyrics. I have to say they are preety awful but it at least conveys a story. The beat and everything else is preety good.

Also, for what it's worth, in regards to #7, don't worry about being 'controversial.' That song has ended up on SEVERAL worst lists already. The critics of TH-cam have shown little to no mercy regarding the artist in question.
Even then, this is the song that does deserve that kind of wrath more than Sad. I mean, it's like Mark said in the week he covered it, at least Sad sounded like a finished song.

You were right on the money with the “Juice WRLD fans being faintly embarrassed of this in two years” point. That happened to me beat-for-beat; I got into his music in 2018, drifted from it as I discovered more music and came into my own as a listener, and was somewhat embarrassed of my emo-trap phase by 2020. Kinda funny looking back at it in 2022 when my music taste is exponentially more diverse.

I hate that song with passion. I knew The Beautiful And Damned was gonna hurt... well, since I read the title, but this song was the proof I needed.
Don't mean to sound like a fanboy here who would kowtow to white rappers and defending them, sounding like someone who doesn't know what real hip-hop sounds like, but hear me out, I'm an NF fan and you got the concept of "Let You Down" wrong.
He is not talking about his father in the song, he's referring to himself, how he let himself down as NF considers himself a perfectionist and he couldn't live up to his expectations.
And I know you got an aversion to high pitched or chipmunk vocals, but the high pitched voice is meant to represent his younger self, talking to himself, how he let himself down.
The music video is even more apparent as there is a male figure who is presumably NF's father watching NF drowning but it culminated to a lady calling the male figure "Nathan", which is NF's real name.
He is watching himself drowning.
He is not just a white rapper with tight flows with nothing to say.
He's gone through a lot of shit from being abused as a child and his mother dying from drug overdose and he talks about his hardships in his songs.
But hey, I am a fan of your channel and I sound like a total fanboy here but I believe I stated my point.

I mostly agree with the list except was surprised at how low some songs were. I was certain "Meant to be" was going to be top 5 and "Lucid Dreams" would be in the top ten. I think the year's worst music was typified by laziness in that some seem to think drum machines, a bit of trap and hollow lyrics were good enough and in some cases the public lapped it up. Wish it'd stop

2018: it wasn't the worst year of the decade in terms of hits, but boy, did it test my patience.
DHM1: The song sounds like it had as much effort put into it as the ringtone rap from the 2000s.
Loved the jab at Marshmello, that one made me laugh.
DHM2: Fuck you, Maroon 5. You suck.
DHM3: I can't understand its existence and I always keep a straight face whenever it comes on.
DHM4: This one will be a dishonorable mention on my list purely because of overplay.
