There are some economic hardships yes. But the main reason why they want to harm the current president is political. The opposition is upset that the courts has ruled that the largest opposition leader and former president of Zambia Edgar Lungu is INELIGIBLE to stand for next elections.

It actually always has been recognized, CHAPTER 90 OF THE LAWS OF ZAMBIA being the witchcraft act was first passed in 1914 and has been amended six times😂. So, as Counsel, one can use the provisions in the act so long as they have sufficient, worthwhile and actual facts and evidence that the prosecuted party has acted contrary to that act as seen in this case for these two guys. Hell, even our colonizer the Brits have had a witchcraft act for centuries and ours is somewhat a small and partial derivative of as was our first Constitution. Not a lot of us kuno actually know about the same acts lol.
