@ I appreciated the response brother, it works , I just hope the devs get this all sorted out , bc I wanna grind the game more but I gotta take breaks bc of this issue, and I don’t want my pc to get bricked up either, my pc crash at least 15 times or more
Yeah, unfortunately it is an issue with the latest version of windows and how it schedules tasks. I hope that either Microsoft or GGG can resolve it soon. GGG should be looking to optimize anyway. Going from 4 threads in regular gameplay to 16 threads maxing a CPU just to load a new zone is not the move lol
I've been doing this since launch. Lately realised it's not a win 11 24H2 problem but happening in win 10 as well. Wierd why GGG has not taken this seriously yet.
That’s interesting! I can see that helping during the occasional hitch during gameplay! I’m playing grenade spam merc so a lot of explosions and sounds
Maybe it was just coincidence, but on my 7700x 8 core CPU with 2 or 4 threads disabled, it actually crashes MORE. Of course you can at least then CTRL ALT DEL out of it and "end task" it, but then you have to do this all over again. It's probably less damaging than hard rebooting my computer every time and risking damaging my SSD or other components. The other way to avoid crashing is disabling multithreading in game right before you hit a load screen. There is an in game menu option for that. I leave it turned off, and just play at 25 FPS in the main hub to sell stuff, and drop off loot, and then turn it back on when I get back to a combat area. It's still super annoying, but I found it to be less work than this. Until this is fixed, the devs should just AUTOMATICALLY disable multithreading before getting in a load screen, and turn it back ON themselves. They could actually be doing physical damage to people's machines if they don't fix this.
That’s interesting! I definitely have had less crashes overall. Whenever the game goes to crash, I already have task manager open and the moment I set the priority to real time it fixes it and I’ve not had to close the game or reboot since. Definitely not convenient, but I’m a loot goblin currently in end game maps so disabling and reenabling multithreading would be more annoying overall for my play style. I’m happy that it’s working for you though!!
Devs should NOT disable multithreading, but fix the problem. Keep in mind your entire OS affected by this so it's not GGG responsibilty to fix kernel mode vulnerability.
I can play with my other characters currently on act 2 and the game runs smoothly. But when I try to log in on my act 3 characters the games crashes into windows. Does anyone knows why?
Likely an issue with overusing VRAM on your GPU due to all of the water reflections that are introduced in act 3. I would turn down visual settings to do with water and shadows and then turn on adaptive vsync so your system doesn't push itself too hard. Also if on steam, try verifying integrity of game files. Might be a missing asset!
game worked fine first week of EA then started crashing more and more frequently on load screens. when are these smooth brain devs coming back from holidays? thanks for explaining this in simple terms as i'm not tech savvy. i just don't get why they would make this update and then go on holidays, why not wait til after to do the update so they can fix the issues.
Short and well explained, thank you king for this fix 🙏🏼
I have been searching for a fix for this for days thank you so much!!!! 🙏🏻
I'm so glad I could help!!
So I have 8 cores and 16 logical processor how many do i have to check off?
@@H0MIXIDE972I would do the same as I did in the video and uncheck 0-3! That will give your system 2 cores/ 4 threads that the game cannot touch!

I think it might be Christmas break
Yeah they are out for Christmas break so it will likely be in the new year before it gets fixed unfortunately
Someone said, that changing sound count to low in sound setting also fixing some crashes and freezes

A recommendation would be to use process lasso to not have to set the affinity every time you launch the game.
That's a great idea! Thank you!
this makes so much sense tha you

@@whatevermedia2524 Imma try that! Thx!

From what I know, they're off until early January. I'd be expecting a post around the 12th or so about plans moving forward
Thanks, but the amount of crashes is the same. I find alt+tab as soon as a loading screen is about to pop up to be the best solution.
thanks for tutorial but watching it was unconvertable for my left ear
Yeah I have NO idea what happened there. The original file was channeled normally and once uploaded to TH-cam it happened. I apologise for that!
This is why im sick of buying these expensive computers and games being poorly optimized for them. Looks like im gonna have to play on console.
