I installed EBC HH Sintered pads on my Triumph Speed Twin|No more squealing brakes/pulsing lever?

  • Had my 2020 Triumph Speed Twin since July 2023
Front brake lever pulsed, brakes squealed when coming to a stop, warped discs?
Original owner had already had rotor discs replaced under warranty.
Internet search on the forums, consensus of opinion, is to change the oem brake pads to to EBC ones.
15 minute job per caliper ....honest.

now go and bed them in correctly for maximum performance .
Bedding in video is in edit now as is a day to France to test the new brakes out.
    Purchased through Demon Tweaks:
    www.demon-tweeks.com/ebc-brak...
£29.17 for one set, x2 needed
They do fit the Speed Twin, the site says they don't .
More information from EBC about the sintered HH pads, which wear quicker and are tougher on the rotors, but give better braking performance than oem ones.

THE PADS WERE BEDDED IN AS PER THE DAVE MOSS METHOD, EBC AS YET, HAVE NOT GOT BACK TO ME REGARDING THE BEDDING IN PROCESS.

There's something very theraputic about watching people work on their bikes. 😇

EBC HH pads have made a dramatic improvement to the braking and braking feel of every bike I have put them on. Combine that with braided lines, and the result will be stunning.

Great video. I've had mine almost a year now, never had the squeal but about to change to EBC anyway due to normal wear.
I have the same colour and same year, fitted the same levers and also have a German Shepherd🤣

Excellent video as always. Just one quick comment, it’s my understanding that it’s the copper grease that stops the squealing, so kind of key to the video. Having said that I’m no expert 😁

used it before I did this video, I took the oem pads out and cleaned everything good and proper, put them back having greased the back of the oem pads, but the noise came back. Hoping the new pads will do the trick, I wasn't going to grease them but thought I will. so far all quiet and no pulsing from the front brake. thrashed the bike in France yesterday and the brakes were great. video etc to follow.

I installed these pads dry on my 2020 Speed Twin and it’s still squealing. I will admit I wasn’t quite so meticulous cleaning the discs or bedding them in but the pads alone won’t solve the issue. Next step is to apply some copper grease to the backs of the pads. Also they’ve only been in a few days so maybe they will improve with some use 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi, not a single squeal out of mine....so far .....and no juddering from the discs....so far. Hopefully the copper paste does the trick.

    Hi.
I put EBC green brake pads in my T120 black and transformed the brakes.
A quick question ref your GS.
I now have a 23 plate GSA ans am getting vibration through the right handle and uou put new bar end weights on your bike.
    Did it make much difference.
    Thanks in advance

So the previous generation speed twin has axial mounted brakes ? Not mentioned much. A problem compared to radial ?

Hi, I haven't found them to be too much of a problem, to be honest.

I’m in two minds about buying used this model speed twin or the newer one. I will be riding them shortly. Suspect the newer model will be a couple thousand more . Not sure if worth it. I used the weak points of your model are suspension and brakes ?… wondering how much better the new model is in comparison. Your thoughts ?

Simply don't understand why they didn't put better suspension on the rear. I have toyed about with dropping £600 on the rear, but haven't done it yet! To be honest, I love just riding the thing slowly kind of using the torque out of the bends . It can be ridden fast, if you so wish ,but it clearly isn't a sports bike. I like the retro look of my front end and with those new pads, still no brake judder and it stops pretty well.My engine has had the ecu done and makes more than enough hp for me, I think the newer engine has a few tweaks. Good luck.

I'd recommend the Bitubo rear shocks and fork inserts, I got mine done at Obsession Engineering in Lincoln, it has definitely made a difference. He has a video on TH-cam of him doing it for a customer.
