Excellent presentation, two great artists sharing the platform, it should be shared 50-50; no need to dominate over the other, it shouldn’t be race to catch the prize!
It isn't a race. You can't expect them to deliver less than what they can do. They go all in because they acknowledge how good each other is and performing anything less than amazing is a disrespect to the other player.
As everyone knows, shashank ji is known for his innovative techniques on the flute. To create the mridangam/pakhwaj treble effect, he mildly plays the flute in a percussion fashion. I wish the music systems were good to capture the intricacies. Damn!
Both the artists are masters in their own right, no doubt about that but raga Hansadhwani is supposed to be a very melodious and soothing raga which is not reflected Shashank’s rendition.
What gimmick? What shashank ji did is a percussive technique on the carnatic flute. It's a legit advanced form of technique just like tonguing on the flute, which creates a pakhwaj/mridangam like trebel on certain notes even on a flute. That's a genius idea believed to be true only in theory until shashank ji showed it's application in real life. If that doesn't call for a genius, what does!??
I don't like this mastero shashanks playing... It looks like a cacophony of noise.... Where as rakesh jis bansuri is soothing and peaceful listening to..
No offence......but it seems that you're not experiencing the soothing Hamsadhwani from the Carnatic flute, and also you shouldn't compare the two forms of art. Both of them have got a glorious legacy and they ought to be respected irrespective of which genre or form you follow.

Btw, thaat system of Hindustani us based on carnatic music melakarta system. What they played here was Hamsadhwani raga, originally a carnatic raga later borrowed into Hindustani. The song is Vatapi Ganapatim again a carnatic composition. If you are unable to understand you are clearly undereducated.

Superb!!!!!!!!! Both Shashank and Rakesh excelled. The mridangangist and tablist have added beauty to the performance.

Invest in microphone please, this was injustice to these artist
I beg your pardon... This has been recorded in a professional studio not at home... Check your device or use ear plugs/headset for proper listening
Enjoyed the concert in the beginning, both are brilliant. However, too much gimmick at the seemed un-necessary.
You are very much correct

There is unnecessary domination, spoiling the essence of jugalbandi.

Exactly, but I used to tell myself I haven't developed tatse to enjoy his music
Shaktiprasad Mishra it is because you can’t understand music and amount of semitonal accuracy of Shashank’s style

I agree. Why rush things??? Melody should be preserved with speed. Not just speed losing the melody.
@@sameerangalagali4438 I'm sorry but Shashanks playing is no way soothing
Playing fast does not mean playing better, that does not sound Good
Each has his own unique style.
They are each great in their own style.
Do u even know how to play?
It's just that the sound system is really bad
Shashank ji ke swar to Bahar Jaa Rahe Hain saare.... Carnatic System mujhe Samajh Nahi Aaya aajtk ki kis Aadhaar par swar sthan nirdharit hota hai....

the south indian flute isnt for me, too all over the place; Irritating to listen to.
