This is what I'm feeling right now. We actually tried for a month if it'll work out but unfortunately... the happiness isn't there anymore. The usual smile, kiss, hug doesn't feel the same way. Until I found out that she was already in a relationship with someone else. I know that we can't continue the relationship that became so dull and full of toxicity, but there is still something inside me that telling me not to let go and fight for it. Then again, I can see from both sides :) if that's it then that's it. Like you said even if hurts, but if it's what must be done then so be it. I appreciated it more when Moira said that it's actually a love letter to herself. As I listen to this song thru that perspective, tears start flooding.
