- How to tell the difference between Serratus Anterior Palsy and Trapezius Palsy. Doug Holland, LMT gives a tip on how to differentiate the two conditions of winged scapula. www.HollandReflexology.com
I made a post on "winged scapula" that goes into greater detail on how to assess the condition, on my website. It covers other signs that a person may have. www.hollandreflexology.com/winged-scapula-serratus-palsy-vs-trapezius-palsy/
Dear Dr, can please give me right direction, if MRI result says
At C2-C3, C3-C4, C4-C5, C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels: Mild disco-osteophytic bulges indenting anterior epidural space.
Which doctor one must consult? ..... PHYSICAL THERAPIST, Orthopedic Suregon, Neuro suregon
Patient is consulting PHYSIOTHERAPIST since 2020 but still have hinderance in daily activities. ( Considering I have Winged scapula as a result of neck injury )
Please guide.
THANK YOU
Thanks for your video! Helped me a lot in developing an understanding of the types and of course my particular kind. The plates worked a treat. :)
Very helpful! Simple but effective demonstration. Thank you

Couldn't find video on correction of lateral scapula winging due to hypoactiv trapezius /palsy .
Please guide
Is it possible for the trapezius to tear off the spine off the scapula?
Hey doc great vid. I’m pretty sure I have a Seratus anterior palsy from trauma to the long thoracic nerve. I live in Hawaii and was wondering if you know any clinics out here that might be able to help? Thanks
Sorry Chee I don't. I hope the best for you in finding a good doctor. Thanks for the compliment on the video!
Hi! What kind of doctor do you go to once physical therapy has not worked for trapezius palsy
Orthopedic surgeon or neurologist
Hi Doug, great video, i was hoping you could give me some advice on what kind of movements would be limited by these, my doctor told me i have shoulder impingement, but im sure it's scapular, right now i can lift my arm laterally above my head, but my bicep cannot touch my ear and when i do chest press my right scapular raises further than my left
A good PT could find out exactly where the problem is. You need a in person, slow motion assessment. they need to have their hands on you through the motion.
@@hollandmassagereflexology2000 thank you so much for the response I will take your advice and call one 😊
Where are you located? Thank you for this informative video. These are my issues.
thankyou so much 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌
I have trapizeus winging , what exercise should i do to correct my shoulders , I can't feel muscle mind connection during workout in my right chest 😢
It has been 9 months are you sorted now??
Hi! So I have been having this problem on both shoulders but my left one is very unstable and I’ve noticed when I go to do a shrug that side doesn’t raise up nearly as much as my other shoulder and I can feel the tension in my upper trap or levator scap. I don’t know if it’s a bec my levator scap is tight and shorten or if it’s a tightness in my lat/serratus.
Or it could be both. Have a PT look at it. Hope the best for you.
Are Trapezius Palsy and Rhomboid Palsy the same?
Are these conditions diagnosed by spine orthopaedic specialists or normal orthopaedics specialist ?
To check the nerve injury consider EMG test
Hi Doug! I’m so glad I found this video. Thank you for posting this! Is there a way to tread serrated anterior palsy through massage? If so, do you have a video for that? Thanks! ☺️🙏
Hi Jacinda. I do have a video for how to massage serratus anterior. I hope the video helps. th-cam.com/video/4jjYt8fdWrA/w-d-xo.html
@@hollandmassagereflexology2000 hi Doug, I tried viewing the video that you suggested for Jacinda, it won’t work. Say’s it private. Can you repost and do you have a massage for the serratus posterior? Thank you
