Damn dot, I feel old and sad reading these. I wish gaming can be like the late 90s all over again, when games are sold in good old 1-discs with no internet required at all and at a cheap price, when free demos are available in compilation CDs or over dial-ups on demand, when game updates are not crucial and not mainly to fix broken games, and when everything in the package is yours truly once you paid it once unless you get expansion packs which are rare but coveted in their times. Now it feels like gaming has corporationalized, and all the fun is sucked out of it in the spirit of making more money. Gaming industry today is no longer the gaming industry it used to be, and it makes me weep inside.
hell you have to shell out $100 for the full version of shooters that aren't worth it. Doom was my no. 1 though and i got bloodborne on the cheap. patience does pay off.
Stardew Valley, tw warhammer, shadowverse, and Hyper Light Drifter were all the new releases I played this year. Every single one of them has been amazing, too.

Overwatch is 1? I'm really sick of seeing Overwatch praised and put on this bs pedestal. The game is half finished, and is stupidly unbalanced. Lame, stupidly disappointing. Titanfall and Doom are far better.
By "half finished" you mean "there's not enough content" huh. Well quality over quantity, man. What's in the game (and what they HAVE added over time) is polished and high quality, and that's why it's good. No need for 50 half-assed maps and 100 generic weapons.
No single player, microtransactions, few maps (also poorly designed and mostly boring maps), 3 modes. If anyone besides Blizzard made this, it would go the route of the original Titanfall

Everyone just has a preference. I personally hate most singleplayer games and lean towards multiplayers, although I hate Overwatch. I hated the whole dark souls series and the witcher series. But I did LOVE The Last of Us.
john handcock I liked it, but you got to be used to the combat. I played all Uncharted story's and i really liked it. Nevertheless, It's my #1 I don't get how you can only put that in place 7. And i think many others will agree. It's not only the combat, but the story and the graphics as well. To me, i like that more then a first person shooter like call of duty. But that's to each their own :-)
Chris DiGi overwatch is just popular for the IP of Blizzard and the characters. Game play is just normal and casual but is lacking in depth and content. people like the characters cause they can choose what the character's backstory is until blizzard tries to ruin that with the comics
You know what pisses me off more than anything? Paying full price for a game and then discovering that there are micro transactions. Fuck that shit. It's ridiculous and I don't know how people are still paying FULL PRICE for a game that asks you for more as soon as you start it.
It is a bad gaming trend, best we can do is never buy microtransactions. Also NEVER EVER pre-order games. It means devs don't have the fear of releasing a bad product since they get their reward already.

I have watched let's plays, including a lot of yours on Twitch , and it looked really fun and a good looking game. Yoyo Manga What does that mean? My friend and I 100%'d the game in a few days. There isn't anything to do in the game really. side quests are mmo style where you go to x and pick up y, come back for another mission. The only difference is that an MMO's side quests have story.
I didn't play Pokemon, but I thought it was an original idea that was good. Cod is the same as it's been for a while and Fifa hasn't change since the first one came out.
John W Pokémon was an original idea. it's just the amount of fucking games they release every year is similar to Cod. like people only defend it because of nostalgia and still pay retail price for little change, it's stupid.
Chris Karapetyan there's only being 6 main line Pokemon generations in 20 years and they're all very individual, very content heavy RPG's that all bring in new Pokemon and new characters. Not to mention an entire new region, where as Fifa changes very little in terms of content, and used the same engine for 4 fucking games in a row. COD is better though, it actually adds new maps and content for players, but for some reason gets immediately shot down by its cancerous fan base when they try anything different like in Advanced and Infinite warfare.
Of course you two are invincible, but in general, dying is very much a part of this game. And so what? Not everybody wants to sit behind a rock for 11 hours. Sometimes it's more fun to run in and die in the thick of it.
That's the reason I barely play any FPS multiplayers. Basically all they are is dying every minute or less, then respawning and doing it again and maybe shooting some other people before you die 30 seconds later. It would be cool if they had 100v100 battles (idk if servers can support that many people) where if you die, you wait until the next round.

No question about it I agree Overwatch is #1. I was never an fps player. Since beta I've been hooked like a crack head to this game. It has taken over my channels. Every night before I game I say I'll just play one game of Overwatch and switch. Hours later of playing this...well I better go to bed now. Right choice at 1.
Uncharted 4 and Overwatch are pretty much the only ones I really enjoyed, honorable mention to watch dogs 2 as well (got the platinum trophy for it too) Also witcher 3 blood and wine, that pretty much it tbh, really hope 2017 is better for gaming.
RecklezzNInja i was part of the few who enjoyed the first watch dogs (sure it had problems like most games, but it was good) With watch dogs 2 they listened to the feedback fans gave them, made the driving much better, waaaay better protagonist, lots of personality and a better setting. The hacking is more complex now and you can do every mission stealth or all guns blazing, i'd recommend it for sure, don't let the hate bandwaggoners put you off getting it, i had fun with my time with it :)

Firewatch was an amazing game. One of my favorite games as well. It's like reading a good book and you feel as though you can go back and read it again and again.
A lot of people think that adding a single player campaign is detrimental to the game because it's a waste on resources that could be spent bettering the multiplayer experience.
Robert Targaryen Destiny's gameplay is fun, I just hate how Bungie has handled content for that game. They have also destroyed their pvp. It was once fun but now all the weapons have just been nerfed to hell.

Btw. since Total War started using a licence for the first time: Disney, if you're reading this, how about Wargame: Star Wars, Total War: Star Wars or Shadow Tactics: Star Wars? Make it happen. I partly agree with your choice of Dark Feels 3. My only issue is the broken PVP and a bit of salt at the cut content with a small side of no poise. No covenant of Velka which means no using occult/Pardoner characters to release the sin from the guilty QQQQQQQQ; RIP extra boss damage as well. I have my hopes up for the last DLC which needs to hurry the fuck up.
Dark Souls is a niche game, you will rarelly see people remember it months after release, specially in a golden year for FPSs (the complete reverse of a niche genre).

Top 10 games of 2016 +WarFrame, I just started playing this on the Xbox1, and it really engages me. From the weapon and character customization to the level design and everything in between.. this is one solid game. Its only down fall is, it is a online all the time game, so if your internet isn't working, your screwed, if the servers are down, your screwed, so that sucks. The Platinum is WAY to expensive. But besides that.. it's really grabbed hold of my attention for now. +Gears 4 Solid experience, I was curious how the new studio was going to do the story, and over all I felt like the game had some sort of kiddy appeal to it.. with giant robots and stuff, but it was fun. +Rise of the Tomb Raider What a SOLID game. From the gameplay to gunplay to environments and leveling up... WOW!.. I wish this studiomade an medieval action RPG fantasy tropes..they already have the mechanics down pat, they'd just need a good world and story to back it up. +Doom Its like you said, awesome fine tuned gameplay, from the jumps to the guns, and everything in between.. well the story was kind of cliche and vague and.. everyone was dead, hated that bit. It was a solid experience. +Titan Fall 2, never played the first, bought the collectors though.. anyways, again, gameplay and world building walk hand in hand.. and are king to me. And Titan Fall 2 pulled that off pretty well. That's pretty much all I can recall... From what I've seen, the PC version of Fallout 4 was fricken awesome. Console version, not so much.
I spent a hell of alot of time on gears 4, Only to slowly realise how fucking shit the game is, Horde got boring as fuck shooting the same drones and robots, Solo was great and mulitplayer was same as always. It was nothing special.

So I feel Overwatch is designed specifically for multiplayers, people who have the experience and connection to play this game. I have watched let's plays, including a lot of yours on Twitch , and it looked really fun and a good looking game. I hope one day Iam able to be a decent enough multiplayer gamer so I can join in on what I see the majror movement n gaming(gamers seem to be favoring more multiplayer style games than the story and character driven games like Uncharted, Titanfall, Battlefied campaign...)

Chris Karapetyan there's only being 6 main line Pokemon generations in 20 years and they're all very individual, very content heavy RPG's that all bring in new Pokemon and new characters. Not to mention an entire new region, where as Fifa changes very little in terms of content, and used the same engine for 4 fucking games in a row. COD is better though, it actually adds new maps and content for players, but for some reason gets immediately shot down by its cancerous fan base when they try anything different like in Advanced and Infinite warfare.

It's normal to die all the time in that game. Judging by the campaign, Battlefield 1 is less about heroism than about the horrors of war.

Of course you two are invincible, but in general, dying is very much a part of this game. And so what? Not everybody wants to sit behind a rock for 11 hours. Sometimes it's more fun to run in and die in the thick of it.
That's the reason I barely play any FPS multiplayers. Basically all they are is dying every minute or less, then respawning and doing it again and maybe shooting some other people before you die 30 seconds later. It would be cool if they had 100v100 battles (idk if servers can support that many people) where if you die, you wait until the next round.

No question about it I agree Overwatch is #1. I was never an fps player. Since beta I've been hooked like a crack head to this game. It has taken over my channels. Every night before I game I say I'll just play one game of Overwatch and switch. Hours later of playing this...well I better go to bed now. Right choice at 1.

RecklezzNInja i was part of the few who enjoyed the first watch dogs (sure it had problems like most games, but it was good) With watch dogs 2 they listened to the feedback fans gave them, made the driving much better, waaaay better protagonist, lots of personality and a better setting.
The hacking is more complex now and you can do every mission stealth or all guns blazing, i'd recommend it for sure, don't let the hate bandwaggoners put you off getting it, i had fun with my time with it :)

Doom resurrected one of my favorite franchises and therefore had my #1 spot for most of the year. However, Shadow Tactics pulled one of my all-time favorite genres out of the dustbin, and did it in style. I really hope the game sells well and we finally get a real-time tactic franchise going. Btw. since Total War started using a licence for the first time: Disney, if you're reading this, how about Wargame: Star Wars, Total War: Star Wars or Shadow Tactics: Star Wars? Make it happen. Don't argue. Shut up and take my money!

I partly agree with your choice of Dark Feels 3. My only issue is the broken PVP and a bit of salt at the cut content with a small side of no poise. No covenant of Velka which means no using occult/Pardoner characters to release the sin from the guilty QQQQQQQQ; RIP extra boss damage as well. I have my hopes up for the last DLC which needs to hurry the fuck up.
Dark Souls is a niche game, you will rarelly see people remember it months after release, specially in a golden year for FPSs (the complete reverse of a niche genre).

Finna Nut Yeah, people are entitled to their own opinions. But IGN's review of Uncharted 4 was disliked to hell and back, and ARROGANT Uncharted fanboys proceeded to attack Lucy O'Brien. Calling her every nasty word in the book! And even saying that she should be FIRED for expressing her opinion on the game! The same happened to Angry Joe. He gave the game a 9/10, and Uncharted fanboys proceeded to call HIM every nasty word in the book! And on the game awards of 2016, Uncharted fanboys disliked it like crazy because they were butthurt over the fact that their favorite game didn't get chosen! I'm surprised. SHOCKED even, that Uncharted fanboys didn't attack boogie2988 for his opinion. Calling him every nasty word in the book like Lucy and Joe, sending him death threats, and photoshopping images of him to make him look super sketchy! Like, what makes THIS different from the others?

Really glad I built my first gaming PC the year doom, overwatch, bf1 and titanfall 2 were released.
really i watched two other channels and they said overwatch for number 1 like really i think bf1 or uncharted 4 are better games but i guess thats just my opinion🙃

Uhm, no it most certainly did not, lol. Remember physical sales are the only ones tracked by websites and retailers so they are definitely not accurate. Especially when 99% of PC players buy digital.

+WarFrame, I just started playing this on the Xbox1, and it really engages me. From the weapon and character customization to the level design and everything in between.. this is one solid game.
Its only down fall is, it is a online all the time game, so if your internet isn't working, your screwed, if the servers are down, your screwed, so that sucks.
The Platinum is WAY to expensive. But besides that.. it's really grabbed hold of my attention for now.
+Gears 4 Solid experience, I was curious how the new studio was going to do the story, and over all I felt like the game had some sort of kiddy appeal to it.. with giant robots and stuff, but it was fun.
+Rise of the Tomb Raider What a SOLID game. From the gameplay to gunplay to environments and leveling up... WOW!.. I wish this studiomade an medieval action RPG fantasy tropes..they already have the mechanics down pat, they'd just need a good world and story to back it up.
+Doom Its like you said, awesome fine tuned gameplay, from the jumps to the guns, and everything in between.. well the story was kind of cliche and vague and.. everyone was dead, hated that bit. It was a solid experience.
+Titan Fall 2, never played the first, bought the collectors though.. anyways, again, gameplay and world building walk hand in hand.. and are king to me. And Titan Fall 2 pulled that off pretty well.

From what I've seen, the PC version of Fallout 4 was fricken awesome. Console version, not so much.

I spent a hell of alot of time on gears 4, Only to slowly realise how fucking shit the game is, Horde got boring as fuck shooting the same drones and robots, Solo was great and mulitplayer was same as always. It was nothing special.

Overwatch has the audacity to have micro transactions in a full priced retail game. Just stick to Team Fortress 2.
they are cosmetic micro transactions which are completely optional, which you can also unlock just by playing. seems silly for that to be a negative on the game
