- Former Iowa Hawkeyes coach Lisa Bluder could be joining Caitlin Clark at Indiana Fever! This is according to reports doing rounds online. Current Indiana Fever Head Coach Christie Sides has been under scrutiny from fans following the team's poor performance and perceived frustration of Caitlin Clark. It is alleged that Lisa Bluder met Indiana Fever owner Herb Simon and we are yet to receive official reports about it. Do you think this could bring a change at Indiana Fever?

She’s a big girl, she can handle herself. From what I’ve heard, she loves a challenge. It makes her a better player. She’s no wallflower, so don’t treat her as one.
Bluder ran a "run-and-gun offense", which Clark is a product of. That style of play means fast transition, spreading the court and opening lanes leading to more shots.
The Fever run a slower offense focusing on set plays, perimeter and inside shots, leading to fewer shots. This is why Clark is struggling to fit in.
Her mind works so fast that she turns the ball over because she is expecting teammates to be in places they are not. Even through double and triple teaming...she is still among the leaders in scoring.
Bringing Bluder in would hopefully lead to more of an offensive style that Clark is familiar with. I don't see Bluder standing by and watching the greatest shooter in college ball history, that she nurtured throughout her college career, have her career destroyed by incompetent coaching and a team that dislikes her.

This Fever team only has 4 runners. Clark, Fagbenle, Michelle and Wheeler. Neither Wheeler nor Mitchell are passing the ball back to Clark. Why? They haven't accepted her as their pg. It took Iowa 1.5 yrs to. change and 3 yrs to perfect it. Presently there's a leadership struggle. Until that's resolved in the locker room and on the court nothing will, Change in how they're playing her during the games.
The coach isn't on board either. It may be that this is it t/o the rest of the season. Then they'll either wholesale the team or trade Clark.

Mitchell and Wheeler are ball hogs and are playing for the highlight reels. Both are a disaster on defense and teams shoot right over them.
The coach has no clue how to use Clark because that was never her style. If people watch Clark's Iowa games, she effortlessly puts in 30-40 points a game. That won't happen with this group.
Interesting comment. "Never her style". Do you believe that was Bluder's style? She's remarked that she adapted her style to enhance Clark's game. Run n gun became Iowa's style. Let's see if it's Jan Jensen's style or if she returns to her roots.

CC team mates at Iowa were better than the fever.
Those players around her was hungry of fame. So they don't pass the torch to their point guard. If u notice their games from the very start. Flash passes they can't catch it. They doesn't know how to lay-up( missed oftentimes). They are professional basketball players. But they missed a lot of lay-up that's obvious!!!😅😅 I

Coach Sides wants old school, low post, in the paint, mid range shooting. CC22 would thrive under Iowa's coach Bluder which is fast paced, run n gun,, perimeter 3's exciting style.
the only problem with Catlin Clark is she is good because she worked hard to get where she is ,if other players can not accept that find another sport like corn hole or beer pong
What I don't understand is two things... They knew, or supposed to know, the style that is CC. If she didn't fit the coaches idea of her team, why draft her? Second, if they really cared about CC getting a good start, they worked her to the bone. Throwing her to the wolves double time. I would of seen CC get 1/2 the time on the court and brought on slower that what they did. That way, she would of been a little more rested, been with the team to meld more with them and maybe of learned the system that the Coach wanted. They doomed CC from the start, IMO.
Sides need to be fired. Play has to be at a faster pace to consistently win. Players on Fever need to be replaced to do this. Action has to happen ASAP.
They want a boring game and their players can't catch flash passes. So u're suggestion is really far to happen.

The problem is this, no matter how much advice Bluder gives, it doesn’t mean jack if the Fever doesn’t take it!
First, Bluder was ok with the logo shot. Most coaches would put the kibosh on that. Like telling MJ, don't defy gratify. Second, The Fever has had the last 2 first draft picks and aren't winning like they should be. That's got to be fixed. No win, no playoffs.
As of now, they're in the hunt, and that's because the other teams are also sucking (Washington still has fewer wins, Chicago is falling apart, LA is still bad, and Dallas is also bad and has fewer wins).
Coach Bluder has said that she doesn’t want to coach anytime soon. Perhaps she could be hired on as a consultant.

A lot of new fans heard saying "I never watched or cared about WNBA until Clark came into the league." Now that Sides is trying to ruin her it won't take long for new fans to leave. The nastiness of many of the WNBA players and management has also been exposed to millions more people.
If you want to build a dynasty , one would need ownership, GM, Coach that is committed and experienced in building around your superstar. Won’t happen overnight but the opportunity for such a worthwhile endeavor is now.

When taking a coaching job ,most coaches will ask for control of releasing players that don't fit in their game Plan and trade those with value for a player that fits the scheme, some can be coached up if they have a upside

The bottom line is that no matter who is coaching the Fever, if they are not instilling accountability into the (whole) team, then they will continue with their losing culture.

The current coach does not coach to players strengths. Mainly because Boston is out of shape and slow down "O" not good. Mitchell is a runner, Wallace is quick, power forward getting in shape after the birth of her baby. Team chemistry and rotations are off... Something has to change. But don't make CC the reason. The former head coach can be an assistant but awkward for CC. But change is needed.

It has been noted on other podcast stating Sides is holding back Clark. Nothing more can be shown than on one podcast noting this is not far off. Playing the Atlanta Dream Clark had 10 touches first half and 3 second half, after bringing the ball past mid half. During ball play of the game Clark got a total of 13 touches in the game. I am not knocking anything about the other players, only getting Clark into the groove being the only player not played in 2023 this will not help as a team being Clark a starter. More, the third quarter with not using Clark and half of the fourth quarter the game was almost lost. Clark makes a few mistakes on her passes, only a few very few. It is noted court sense is another factor with Clark passes to her teammates.
If Bluder “were” to become the coach the team would have to change. There would be trades to match a new offense that would be installed, there is a need for a “big” and new coaches

Bluder wouldn't accept an assistant position for Sides, she wouldn't have Sides as her assistant either. Bluder would bring in who she wants , as she did at St. Ambrose, Drake, and Iowa. If Bluder doesnt take the job, she'd probably recommend Bill Fennelly from Iowa State Cyclones, theyve been competitors for 40 + years and have a great deal of respect for each other.

I actually feel sorry for Martin. Her and CC are close friends playing with each other for 4 years. I believe that they are being nice to Martin simply because of the jealousy they have aginst Clark. Quit spreading rumors. There is no proof other than a person knows a person who saw something. If it is not admissible in a court of law it is not fact, and even then it is questionable. I like Bluder, but she is not the answer. And definitely Sides is not a good coach

The Atlanta game showed the Fever team has untapped potential. Adding superstars like Caitlin clearly is not enough to win consistently. They must play better as a team to have multiple offensive options than just Caitlin, Boston, or Mitchell.
Sides can't run offence. She's a defensive coach who will call for defence and asked her players to figure out the offense on the own and get good shots.

Sides has three top college picks for three consecutive years. Does it look like it? Certain leagues are run by serious people. wnba is not. never had to make money or attract actual women fans. The Fever management, the coaches, the players all said they were excited to draft Caitlin Clark for her shooting but also her court vision and passing. None of them can run the court like CC, especially Boston, who obviously showed up to camp out of shape. Seems as if every game starts out pretty well when the fever run but four to six minutes into the game they get bogged down with the have court sets. No one in the fever organization, management, coaches, teammates were ready for CC. I turned one game off in the first quarter when Samuelson fumble a perfect dime in the post from Caitlin. Yep, fumbled right out of bounds. The Fever should just declare buyer's remorse, negotiate a buy out and set CC free. She could then end the wnba racist, lesbian shitshow, sign with an European league for most likely more money and become an international superstar. Ronaldo, Messi, etc. An international tv cable station could broadcast her games in America. I'm sure several million American home s would buy the package. It would outsell anything the wnba would put together.
