Great video! I have had a Cyma MP5 SD6 for a little over a year now. Performed great until two of the bearings in the gearbox blew up. Everything else looks fine. Took it apart to figure out what was going on. This video will help so much with reassembly.
One thing that's cool is that you could totally buy an A2 styled stock, put it on, and simply disconnect the front wiring adapter since it's not actually a whole ass wire running along that thing! This thing looks so much easier to take apart than my AK lol
I had a Cyma Mp5k a long time ago and i remember that the hopup had a little arm that continued inside the handguard. I don't know if it is the same system but I'm pretty sure there is a problem with your hop up because it looks like it actually misses something. I don't think the allen screw was put in the box for the hop up adjustment. Anyway, it looks a great replica. Peace.
Really useful vid. I got 041j version last year and had to watch a French vid to work out how to strip it (and I’m crap at French) so this is amazing. I’d love to see a vid of what you’d do to upgrade this gun as I’m a beginner with no idea where to start.

I know this is an old video, but was the from of the gearbox radiused in front of the cylinder? With it being the common point of failure in V2 gearboxes, I know that radiusing that section eliminates that problem. Curious to see if Cyma has been doing it or not.
I think that's entirely possible, as long as you don't mess with the pegs coming off the sides of the outer barrel, or at least leave the bottom part of them, the rest could be machined to 14mm negative thread. Pheas
Hiya. Usually not on an mp5 as the hop unit isnt secured against the front of the body it's usually screwed down or the gearbox is forced up against it so there is no need for one. Pheas
If you look closely at the front of the supressor, you can see a seam, so most probably it can be unscrewed to fill it with foam or with some modding put a tracer unit.

Hiya. It is just a version 2 gearbox inside so it would take any drop in mosfet, you could also solder in a mosfet as well. I no longer have it to work on, but if I get one as tech work to fit then I will certainly make a video out of it! pheas
Hello. The shell is identical, the mp5 GB would use a different length air nozzle and tappet plate, selector plate and trigger. Hope that helps. You could buy an M4 GB and just swap over the parts to match what you need. Hope that helps. Pheas
Hey Pheas i just got the mp5 and when i shoot the gun the bb hits supressor at the end and the bbs go 20 30 cm to the right (depends onds the distance) have you heard about this problem and do you have a fix for it?
Hello. First thing I would do is twist and remove the suppressor and check it's shooting straight without it on as could be a barrel or hop issue. If it's shooting straight, then make sure the suppressor is secured fully down, if that doesn't work, especially if it's band new, I would send back. Pheas

I have this same gun and the hop adjuster is accessed just by pulling the charging handle back. It's a forward/backwards adjuster. Not sure what happened with yours?!
I was wondering why you were having an issue. I have the same gun and it's no problem. However with the adjuster arm missing it makes sense. Your disassembly vids are very useful. Rebuilt My g36c gearbox using your vid as my guide no problem. Thank you.

Hiya, does the selector go to each of the selector positions properly? It could be that the cam on the inside isn't lined up with the selector plate properly. Or it could be that your cut off lever which pops the trigger when a single shot has completed isn't seated right maybe. If it had single shot before then more likely to be something to do with the selector stuff. Let me know how you get on checking those first. Pheas
Got one of these yesterday. Your hop is definitely missing its adjustment-arm, its supposed to be a standard ak-hop and the arm on mine is clearly visible when you pull the tab back as on any rifle

Weird about the hop. I have an old CYMA MP5 EBB were it has an extended hop adjust arm. The arm runs along the gear box and is easy to get to with the mock bolt open. You use your finger nail to slide it back for more hop and push the arm forward to lessen hop. The adjust arm is small but is reinforced by resting on the gearbox. Weird how they went away with that arm.
Hiya. In the end it was wrong. It should have had the adjustment arm. I contacted Taiwan gun and showed them the video and they confirmed it was missing the part. So they sent me a full replacement hop unit! Which I was pleased with. It was the arm that ran along the side of the gearbox. Pheas
Hiya! From a quick google it looks to have a 220mm inner barrel! I would change the inner barrel and hop rubber (for ones of your choosing) and thats about it really. They are really nice on their own. Pheas
@@MuscleFlexPro You may see a tiny amount of uplift in fps, but I would say max 10 is the most I have seen from fitting a tight bore and new rubber. But just keep an eye on it once its done. I would maybe, if you dont have a chrono, take it to a shop to get it chronoed once you have fit it! Good luck with it. Pheas
About to order one of these. Plan is to change the barrel so it reaches the end of the surpressor and change out the bucking. General shim and regrease. Do you recommend anything else?
Hiya. Sounds like you have most of it covered. If you are running a 7.4v then I would switch the motor out for a high speed one. The Kublai one is excellent! Pheas

My spring in the stock got mangled but it still works fine. I lost the pins at the front of the barrel that keep the battery safe Edit why is this now age restricted?
Hello! Oh man that's a good question.... I seem to think there was foam in it , but you could open it up, probably fit a tracer insider it as well.... You might need to wrap something around the tracer to keep it centralised though, depending on the tracer. Hope that helps. Pheas

@@tomhewitt8017 That's a good question with the bushings and bearings. With bearings they are in theory not going to last as long as bushings as they are a moving part so will at some point fail, but they can help to make the gearbox turn over that little bit snappier. So if you wanted the best rate of fire out of it then I would consider going down the route of bearings. If you were building a DMR build I would recommend the bushings in stead of bearings as they will stand up to the pressure of it high fps better. If you have the MP5 and want to make it a little snappier, a quick, relatively cheap upgrade could be a high speed motor, they range from about £25 to £80 (sometimes more) for a motor and can transform your rate of fire and how snappy the trigger is out of the box with little effort. I have been trailing the Kublai one from taiwan gun in my KWA Tk45C division 2 and it has been immense, the rate of fire has shot up loads! So maybe not rush to the internals if you can help it, and have a look at other areas to win on first. Hope that helps Pheas

Shame about the hopup adjustment access I certainly won't be buying a CYMA MP5SD6. On the Elite Force Competition edition it has a VSR10 style hopup adjuster on the top left side of the gun but it's made mostly of inferior polymer so I passed on that model also.

There is supposed to be an arm that goes back to behind the bolt on the right side where he was adjusting it with the Allan key. His seemed to be broken and missing which is a common issue if you do the Mp5 slap

Fitting a Titan isn't actually that easy, you have to grind the hell out of that gearbox shell. First of all, have to get rid of the original trigger contact sleeve, second the pins that hold the gbb shells in position, to make room for the cables, then the most frustrating one, the sleeve for the trigger blocking mechanism, on the upper part of the gearbox shell. I've always had really positive experiences with both of those retailers and in this case I think this is more of a cyma issue than a Taiwan gun issue. But like you said people can mistakes and retailers can't always get it 100% right, I hope they sorted it for you though. Pheas
You're missing the adjuster tab for the hop up. It allows access to adjustment from the bolt cover.

Another note about those cyma v2 gearbox’s is they use v3 spring guides from the looks of it which is nice as they are designed way better than v2

If it's quick change. You can open the back and uncouple the mini tamiya (provided there is enough room)

Fitting a Titan isn't actually that easy, you have to grind the hell out of that gearbox shell. First of all, have to get rid of the original trigger contact sleeve, second the pins that hold the gbb shells in position, to make room for the cables, then the most frustrating one, the sleeve for the trigger blocking mechanism, on the upper part of the gearbox shell. The reason why I don’t order from Poland (Taiwangun, Gunfire). Everyone can make mistakes, but they are specialized in making them...
I've always had really positive experiences with both of those retailers and in this case I think this is more of a cyma issue than a Taiwan gun issue. But like you said people can mistakes and retailers can't always get it 100% right, I hope they sorted it for you though. Pheas
