I think it easily could be a Van Gogh. Could be an early painting. Some of his work is pretty crap. He’s my favourite artist and I do see elements in this
How is this even in a news article... im a professional artist, meaning i make a living studying art and particularly impressionism. This isnt a flex, im just saying I more than the typical average casual viewer can look and assess quality of brushwork and line, value, color edges, etc. This isnt even in the same universe as van gogh.. the color is chalky, the palette is wrong. Its clearly a fake
Well if you were an artist and studied you’d know the facial construction and some brushwork do have definite elements of Van Gogh. Until proven otherwise i would say it could be a very early Van Gogh painting if it is at all.
Contre-jour at the back and light in the face - incompatible. It is executed very badly in terms of anatomy and paint placement. Look at the index finger on the left arm, looks short and broken. The whole figure is unconvincing, made by a hand that is not experienced. And the colors are muddy, not in positive way, the painter had limited ability and understanding of mixing colors. Look at the ear. Van Gogh new anatomy well and he would never paint unnecessary details like in this clumsy and wrong ear. Even in his early works, as a student in Paris for some months, you may see how marvelous he is. And here the nose is painted in a different plane than the rest of the face. The face here has many problems. Setting aside the general incompetence of the painter, this is not Van Gogh manner of painting. It is not Van Gogh, it is written who the painter is - Elimar. That is why they do not find provenance. Look how the sky and the sea are painted - no mastery, and these were people trained in classical tradition. Every area is clumsy and boring. And in Van Gogh every area vibrates with various colors, cause he is experienced and trained painter and he knows what he does. Yes, he is trained, very educated, very informed and talented. This Elimar is young, teenager may be, she does not know how to overlap colors and uses them as contours. Van Gogh also was very precise in brushstrokes and all the rest and this individual is not. This is not mature hobby artist, this is young painter, still fighting to describe the form. And the composition with the net in the corner is a problem, looks unexperienced. Everything is badly executed. And the painter is fighting with the relations between the colors. This looks like hobby or young artist's painting. It lacks the marvelous painterly quality of everything touch by Van Gogh's hand and the mind behind it.
This is not only not a Van Gogh but it’s just a really bad painting.
How you know it's not a van Gogh? You just somebody in TH-cam and most of his paintings are really bad
@@david-l8h This is not Van Gogh. This "team of experts" is ridiculous 😂😂😂

Overpaid for it at the garage sale.
Stevie Wonder has confirmed it's definitely a Van Gogh.

@@CreedM8I’m an artist, I’ve studied and taught art history at eminent university. Sorry this is a simple piece of junk.
it doesn't even look like a Van Gogh... give me a break
It does if it’s owned by a private equity firm😑
The person who painted this is not crazy. It’s not Van Gogh…

New York firm is pulling a fast one 😂
Nothing about this painting resembles a Van Gogh painting.
@@RichardBarnett-hs1qy It does not resemble at all.
Don’t insult the firm of scheisster & sons.
It's looks like a poor attempt to copy his style.
It doesn't look like his artstyle though, it looks like a average high school art study
Was it painted by Helen Keller
Keller’s paintings show real ability to create a composition and the colors are subtly magnificent.
This is just….awful.
I've been led to believe the name is pronounce Van Gawk or Gock
