Caught my first swarm by accident. Had old wax moth damage wax in the back of my truck. When I can got off work, bees were circling my truck twenty high. I put a cardboard box with one hole in it behind the place I worked where several old oak trees were. By Dark I had a couple of pounds of bees and the queen. Valuable lesson learned that day.
Instead of wire I use 2 bamboo barbeque secures in the virtual position by drilling through the top bar+ instead of foundation I hot glue lollypop sticks to the top of the bar, it works better than starter strips
Nice bit of advice. I’m doing traps for the first time this year, and I have some damaged frames. Do you use swarm commander and lemon grass essential oil both together in a single trap, or are you just baiting different traps differently?
I found moth larvae from comb when I put frames into bleach water. They floated. Afraid I would be creating future problems to not do something to damaged comb.

I should have watched this yesterday. Threw some wax moth comb away. Good idea.

Good video Cleveland county farmer!

Clueless Homesteaders I would use one or the other. Not both. Either is fine. Both work. Oil is cheaper than swarm commander.
Brown's Beef and Bees brilliant, thanks!
Hmmm...my frames have plastic foundation-besides starting over without the plastic foundation, do you have any advice for this frames?

How do you melt your wax?
I have about 10 frames of wax moth comb i want to melt down. ...
Did you discuss it with DON THE FAT BEE MAN?👀
Your intro is freaking awesome
Not for me
Burn them. Build new ones. Not worth the time or risk to fool with. Been bee keeping for 10 years
