    At 12:13, I think you answered your question about the origin of the sticker. I'm guessing the sticker was on the packet of mantles that you found inside the case. 60-9583 is the Wards mantle item number. That's a nice lantern and case, and yes, you got a good deal. I was looking at it at Cornstock also, but as you may recall, I was trying to reduce my collection.

    Sounds like that lantern has enough power to push a #99 or#111 Coleman mantle. The extra length of those mantles may cure some of its cold bloodedness. Great find.

      I think when it is time to replace the mantle I have on it now I'll try one of the ones that came with it, they are the # it says to use on the collar of the lantern.

    I wonder if mantles would burn in better if you filled the tank with air and opened the valve while burning it in. I'll have to try that. Also, makes me really nervous every time you put a globe on the side of the table 😅
