I respect that you’re being honest and not placing Mothership XI higher just because it’s PMG. I feel like other channels trashed it when it came out and now it’s near the top in their year-end rankings…because of habit, loyalty, maybe they really changed their minds? Who knows.
I was previously a die hard Pat fan but am so sick of the pink color stories that I didn’t initially buy Sunlit Seduction when it came out. I recently got it on sale and am so surprised at how much I like it. I would even rank it higher than a few of the other mothership palettes in terms of wearability. I still wish it was different but I can see people liking it more than they thought they would.

I really like your taste in colors and formulas. It’s quite eclectic compared to other makeup people I watch! Loved this ranking and there are more than a few palettes you ranked highly I still have my eye on for a future “get it while on sale” purchase!

I put the Groundwork palette on the top of my purchases too. Have you tried using the Groundwork putty formula as your eyeshadow primer for the Lightworks V? That was a wonderful summary of a lot of hard work and discernment. Your swatches are next level and including them in your Yearend review was so very helpful and considerate. Also I use NYX Glitter Glue w/ Danessa Myricks Lightwork 5 and have no issues. I’m wearing it today. The primer will last you forever. Very affordable too!

My top are gonna be the same Groundwork, iNAN, Yucca as well as Huda Pretty Grunge which is my ideal grungy Smokey palette, relive my early 00 youth …lol The cream shade in groundwork is damn near perfection for brow cleanup and just cleanup blending …the way it looks on the skin is unlike any eyeshadow I’ve ever used. I’d rebuy the palette for that damn shade alone …. For me owning and buying a LOT of makeup price doesn’t equate the same way, it become more about Usage.
I totally agree with the MAC palette assessment. I wish I had checked your review first before I bought it! I was sold on what I remembered MAC eyeshadow was like in my youth. Just so disappointing. Your reviews are so thorough!

It is clear you have an adversity to nude palettes...but the Doll 10 pallet is my everyday go to. This is an exceptional palette, maybe use a primer first. I have oily eyelids so I do not, but you may want to revisit it. It also does not contain crap like Bismuth Oxychloride that makes you itch, or other nasty ingredients that will make you eyes water. Check out her shadow sticks, they are delightful too.
Do you do your base before your eyeshadow? Because the only way to control the fallout with some palettes is doing your eyeshadow first and wiping the fallout off.

Totally agree with your number 1. I use this EVERY time I do my makeup. Such a clever pallet. Really the only extra thing I need is a little sparkle and I’m done. I use it for contour, bronzer, brows, clean up shade., eyeliner. I love it
I never bought the yucca palette because everyone's looks all looked the same. Like all the shimmers are the same on the eyes on camera. Everyone ranked it so high though. I have fomo.
I truly disagree that the shimmers and the mattes look the same on the eye. I know a lot of TH-camrs reviewed it as such. Imo the Yucca is really versatile. I don’t want to make your fomo worse but… it’s one of my favorite palettes! My boyfriend always calls me a tropical bird when wearing it haha.

I can see why it might seem that way for sure but honestly in person the shades are quite different to each other. The shimmers are slightly similar but on the eyes they look different. I am biased though cos its in my top 3 hahah 💗💗

This is my favourite video of the year - I love yearly rankings, was curious on yours the most and I really appreciate the editing with the swatches. Indi beauty brands have been exceptional this year and very interesting with both the formulas and colour stories. The Adept arrow inspired palette is in stock (I am just struggling to prioritise my wish list of Adept arrow/seahorse, Isamaya 2.0, Bella Beaute Bar basic witch, Ensley Reign, Lisa Eldridge’s Vega/Sorcery restock out now, Oden’s Eye…). My top brand of 2023 is Glaminatrix and I am looking forward to their releases next year as they have said they are bringing out either a green or pastel palette in a DM.

I knew it!!!!! I got your top 3 and KNEW groundwork’s was going to be #1!!!!!!! Long winded me: #1 I totally get what you are saying when you say you like to just look at the palettes. When I’m struggling with my depression or panicking, I can sit down in my makeup chair and just start looking at the palettes and if it’s a really bad day then I pick out my favorite shade in each palette. By the time I’m done, I’m smiling and calm. #2 My Martina Mug was missing and it is actually the only thing I can use to have hot coffee to the very last drop. We tore the house apart, I thought someone tossed in all the Christmas wrapping. I now owe my son a BB gun because he found it!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!💗
I always do my eyes first unless I'm just tossing on the cover girl champagne single and a bb cream. I am so messy with every single shadow. Idk how people avoid tons off fallout. I'll tap my brushes with mattes. I'll spray shimmers or use the pat stick. I'll use my fingers. Nothing helps idk why. I guess I'm just heavy handed and wild when feeling creative 😂

So disappointed in PMG this year. First Mothership I didn’t buy. Thank you for being honest so I didn’t have to waste my own money. I also swatched it at Sephora. Big NOPE from me.
I love hearing your opinion and a few of these palettes have joined my collection based on your review; zero regrets. I appreciate that you insert arm swatches- visually it’s helpful for me when deciding on a color story. Packaging sometimes gets in the way for me lol. Of all the palettes I’ve been attempting to get the Byredo one is the most elusive for me; YSL Stora Dolls gave it a good run for its money though but I was able to snag it and I love that quad. My top 3 palettes this year are My Tom Ford Quads- Smokey Quartz & Nude Dip- & Patrick Ta’s all matte palette this year.
Thank you this video was just what I needed after the horrific Xmas night tornado that hit our beautiful suburb Cedar Grove... I have now turned into a part time lumbar jack😂. At least we still have a house just about every tree is either destroyed or badly damaged, but my happy place is makeup even if I haven't worn any sice Xmas day. I've realized how much that climate effects the makeup I like. I live in a pretty dry climate in Los Angeles, but I know when I go to very humid climates, my makeup doesn't perform the same.
I understand the ranking of Mothership XI but that is sacrilege! 🤣 I purchased 7 palettes this year and Mothership XI actually ranked 5 on my list so I get it!

I like your selections because I too love more cool toned color stories. They go better with my gray hair and light skin with cool undertone. There are some I would like to try…and definitely have the Danes sauce myrick on my wish list
I put Isamaya Industrial 2.0 on my Christmas list because of your review…AND I LOVE IT. ND INAN, Industrial 2.0, Byredo Remembrance, Suqqu 125, and YSl 100 are my top 5…with DM Lightworks 5 a very close 6. (And I wonder if you got a weird one because I don’t have the same application issues even if I use no Pat stick or glitter glue. Weird) OTOH… I need your secret to the Groundworks. I want to love it. The colors and formulas are stunning. The cream blends in as contour or bronzer beautifully but it fades on me. I’ve tried everything. I’ve set it with the corresponding powder which stamp a bit on my cheeks but not my eyes, I’ve set it with other bronzers, I’ve used different primers. Whatever I do the cream formula looks stunning when I apply it to my face or eyes and is basically gone with 2 hours. 😢 I want this to be my everything, but I just can’t make it last on me! Help!

ND definitely did something special with Yucca and i need a nude, i absolutely love them. Unearthly cosmetics Sorcerous smoke and Devour palette are fantastic 👌 one of my favourite indie brands. Cosmic brushes Muse palette an fantastic palette, the brand blow me away this year, i can't believe the quality of the shadows for the price, amazing. Blend bunny sugar and grudge palette gorgeous palette. Oden's eye Jewels and gem palette is so so good i love it, Christmas eve palette i love, flora palette and trick or treat love them all. Just so many good palettes this year 😊

Thank you Martina. I always use the intensifies stick for my shimmers, but I noticed with certain shimmers it wasn’t working. For example, the adept shimmers were not lasting on my eyes and I never have that problem but I used the Devinah glitter glue and they last all day. weird but I’m glad I got it to work for me because I skipped on Samarian Sunset because the shimmers weren’t lasting on my eyes. So glad I found another option because I love the adapt shimmers. As for next year I want to add more natural hair brushes from SG or WG. I love my rephr brushes and after trying their higher quality brush they released this year I was floored on how much better it was so definitely this year is the year to invest in even better quality natural hair brushes. Some of my faves this year were definitely the ND I need a nude palette along with the latest shimmer Devinah came out with so dam good. However I reach for my Viseart neutral mates alot alongside my special shimmers. I love the matte formula I definitely want to get a few more palettes from them like the cool mattes, but I’m also interested in the cool toned one you used in your wedding and or the one they just came out with.

Do you do your base before your eyeshadow? Because the only way to control the fallout with some palettes is doing your eyeshadow first and wiping the fallout off.

Totally agree with your number 1. I use this EVERY time I do my makeup. Such a clever pallet. Really the only extra thing I need is a little sparkle and I’m done. I use it for contour, bronzer, brows, clean up shade., eyeliner. I love it
I never bought the yucca palette because everyone's looks all looked the same. Like all the shimmers are the same on the eyes on camera. Everyone ranked it so high though. I have fomo.
I truly disagree that the shimmers and the mattes look the same on the eye. I know a lot of TH-camrs reviewed it as such. Imo the Yucca is really versatile. I don’t want to make your fomo worse but… it’s one of my favorite palettes! My boyfriend always calls me a tropical bird when wearing it haha.

I can see why it might seem that way for sure but honestly in person the shades are quite different to each other. The shimmers are slightly similar but on the eyes they look different. I am biased though cos its in my top 3 hahah 💗💗

This is my favourite video of the year - I love yearly rankings, was curious on yours the most and I really appreciate the editing with the swatches. Indi beauty brands have been exceptional this year and very interesting with both the formulas and colour stories. The Adept arrow inspired palette is in stock (I am just struggling to prioritise my wish list of Adept arrow/seahorse, Isamaya 2.0, Bella Beaute Bar basic witch, Ensley Reign, Lisa Eldridge’s Vega/Sorcery restock out now, Oden’s Eye…). My top brand of 2023 is Glaminatrix and I am looking forward to their releases next year as they have said they are bringing out either a green or pastel palette in a DM.

Long winded me: #1 I totally get what you are saying when you say you like to just look at the palettes. When I’m struggling with my depression or panicking, I can sit down in my makeup chair and just start looking at the palettes and if it’s a really bad day then I pick out my favorite shade in each palette. By the time I’m done, I’m smiling and calm.
#2 My Martina Mug was missing and it is actually the only thing I can use to have hot coffee to the very last drop. We tore the house apart, I thought someone tossed in all the Christmas wrapping. I now owe my son a BB gun because he found it!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!💗

I always do my eyes first unless I'm just tossing on the cover girl champagne single and a bb cream. I am so messy with every single shadow. Idk how people avoid tons off fallout. I'll tap my brushes with mattes. I'll spray shimmers or use the pat stick. I'll use my fingers. Nothing helps idk why. I guess I'm just heavy handed and wild when feeling creative 😂

I love hearing your opinion and a few of these palettes have joined my collection based on your review; zero regrets. I appreciate that you insert arm swatches- visually it’s helpful for me when deciding on a color story. Packaging sometimes gets in the way for me lol. Of all the palettes I’ve been attempting to get the Byredo one is the most elusive for me; YSL Stora Dolls gave it a good run for its money though but I was able to snag it and I love that quad. My top 3 palettes this year are My Tom Ford Quads- Smokey Quartz & Nude Dip- & Patrick Ta’s all matte palette this year.
Thank you this video was just what I needed after the horrific Xmas night tornado that hit our beautiful suburb Cedar Grove... I have now turned into a part time lumbar jack😂. At least we still have a house just about every tree is either destroyed or badly damaged, but my happy place is makeup even if I haven't worn any sice Xmas day. I've realized how much that climate effects the makeup I like. I live in a pretty dry climate in Los Angeles, but I know when I go to very humid climates, my makeup doesn't perform the same.

I put Isamaya Industrial 2.0 on my Christmas list because of your review…AND I LOVE IT. ND INAN, Industrial 2.0, Byredo Remembrance, Suqqu 125, and YSl 100 are my top 5…with DM Lightworks 5 a very close 6. (And I wonder if you got a weird one because I don’t have the same application issues even if I use no Pat stick or glitter glue. Weird)

I need your secret to the Groundworks. I want to love it. The colors and formulas are stunning. The cream blends in as contour or bronzer beautifully but it fades on me. I’ve tried everything. I’ve set it with the corresponding powder which stamp a bit on my cheeks but not my eyes, I’ve set it with other bronzers, I’ve used different primers. Whatever I do the cream formula looks stunning when I apply it to my face or eyes and is basically gone with 2 hours. 😢 I want this to be my everything, but I just can’t make it last on me! Help!
Yay, I'm so happy you love the Isamaya palette! Hmmm super weird, I definitely don't have that issue with the DM palette. I wonder if its just how your skin reacts to it maybe if you tried all different primes etc 💗💗

ND definitely did something special with Yucca and i need a nude, i absolutely love them. Unearthly cosmetics Sorcerous smoke and Devour palette are fantastic 👌 one of my favourite indie brands. Cosmic brushes Muse palette an fantastic palette, the brand blow me away this year, i can't believe the quality of the shadows for the price, amazing. Blend bunny sugar and grudge palette gorgeous palette. Oden's eye Jewels and gem palette is so so good i love it, Christmas eve palette i love, flora palette and trick or treat love them all. Just so many good palettes this year 😊

I always use the intensifies stick for my shimmers, but I noticed with certain shimmers it wasn’t working. For example, the adept shimmers were not lasting on my eyes and I never have that problem but I used the Devinah glitter glue and they last all day. weird but I’m glad I got it to work for me because I skipped on Samarian Sunset because the shimmers weren’t lasting on my eyes. So glad I found another option because I love the adapt shimmers. As for next year I want to add more natural hair brushes from SG or WG. I love my rephr brushes and after trying their higher quality brush they released this year I was floored on how much better it was so definitely this year is the year to invest in even better quality natural hair brushes. Some of my faves this year were definitely the ND I need a nude palette along with the latest shimmer Devinah came out with so dam good. However I reach for my Viseart neutral mates alot alongside my special shimmers. I love the matte formula I definitely want to get a few more palettes from them like the cool mattes, but I’m also interested in the cool toned one you used in your wedding and or the one they just came out with.
