YES !! YES !! YES !! Thank You , Elizabeth !!! 🎉🎉💕💕🤗🤗 This video about the theory / explanation of the transparency and opacity is so helpful and just what I have been hoping for ! I remember writing to you a few months ago with this very same question (after having purchased your book )and you did reply….BUT this video really does spell it out so brilliantly !! Perfect !! 💕💕🤗🤗
Thank you so much for these videos. I want you to know that YOU have helped me DISCOVER the world of layering and the BEAUTY of combing patterns to make some truly unique. For as long as I remember I was that person who stayed away from "busy" designs. I now know through watching just about ALL of your videos, that it's about selecting the RIGHT colors, opacity, transparency and designs to create a harmonious design. I've already got your paper and some of the inks. This month is my 60th birthday and I'm going to gift myself some of your beautiful STENCILS and masks. My goal is to incorporate these designs into my art - making everyday home decor items beautiful with art. YOU ARE MY DESIGN DIVA!!!
Oh my goodness thank you for this kind message and for taking the time to write. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The process of art is so joyful, I’m glad to have been able to encourage you to explore the combination of patterns and layers! 💕
Elizabeth, the print you made for this video is dazzling as are so many I've seen but this one really got to me. Love it! I don't comment often but watch every post on TH-cam. 🌝🎨
That was a wonderful tidbit I pretty much knew the information, seeing it done and thinking of value can make a difference in the final print. I have so much play time ahead of me when the holidays come and I can rest up to play. Thanks so much this was a really great video.
What a great explanation!!! Sometimes it’s hard when a brand doesn’t give you any indication of what the paint is, so barbs charts are worth it for something’s
I think there is a chart somewhere online that gives the transparency /opacity of every colour……try putting in a search for it online and see what comes up. When I first found it, I remember thinking ‘Wow”……this is just the perfect info that we all need….but I didn’t save it. I am sure you will be able to find it tho’ . It’s definitely much more helpful when the manufacturer puts the symbols on the paint.
So glad I came upon you two lovely ladies. Explained beautifully the differences of opaque, transparent, semi-transparent etc, and how to layer. I now understand exactly where I was going wrong. I can’t tell you how frustrated I was with all the disasters I was creating. Hopefully, a thing of the past… 😃
great video as always! For the longest time, you used the golden fluid acrylics on the gel plate. How do these compare; what are the differences and when would you use golden over the ampersand or vice versa?
Hallooooo, darlings! Great vid. Love the two of you! And what a lovely location! I've a question, please? I was gifted some alcohol inks recently. I love to use them on the gel plate. But these inks are a wee bit different than the ones I have used before and I've noticed they don't dry quickly at all. They are gorgeous, but a wee bit sticky. I've seen YT shorts showing an artist using a heat tool (blow dryer?) on her plate before she pulls. Would you recommend that, please? I've a blow dryer and a heat gun. The gun gets quite hot and I am hesitant to use it. Might you have any advice, please? I'd appreciate it. Thank you so much for the continued inspiration and fun! Much love and bless xoxo
Hi Lindsey! I have never used alcohol inks in any capacity, so I really can’t advise you on this. I also have not used heat on the gel plate either. So I’m not sure what to suggest.
This has been the MOST helpful video! Thank you. ❤
Our pleasure! Glad it was helpful

Hello from Belgium
Hello! I was traveling today. Thanks for being here
great video as always! For the longest time, you used the golden fluid acrylics on the gel plate. How do these compare; what are the differences and when would you use golden over the ampersand or vice versa?
Golden are much better, professional quality. I prefer them and they are what I use. But, they are not in the budget for some people.
Fluids dry faster and apply thinner
Where can I get that large opening stencil
Links to all supplies are below the video
