for some reason i feel like one of the reasons this creepypasta is better than many others is that the narrtor is actually relatable. the narrator sounds like an actual relatable realistic person insead of some scared unrealistic sonic.exe type protagonist.

The dude wasn't fast enough to destroy the disc, but was fast enough to write out an entire note on why you should not play the disc and you should destroy it yourself

I wouldn't really call this creepypasta that scary, but its just more fascinating because you just keep wondering what weird monster will show up next or what environment.
I would definitely call it scary. Red is one of the greatest creepypasta characters ever, and some of the designs (especially on the final level) are scary as well

Out of all the creepypasta involving games, this by far is my favorite
This is hands down my favorite creepypasta to date. Though the concept of 'haunted' games is overused to hell and back, and it had a somewhat cheap ending, it still evoked deep fear in me with the main antagonist, the very fitting music, and MCP's narration in general.
Not to mention, there's imagery to go with the story. Hell yeah.
so can you suggest some other great creepypastas? I'm new to this stuff.
Eli Wilkerson Check out 'On A Hill,' 'The Horror from the Vault,' and any of Vincent V. Cava's works. Those are pretty good choices.

I believe this line from Nostalgia Critic's review of How to Train Your Dragon 2 sums this story up perfectly. "Everything about this makes me want to hate it, but I can't help but love it." The pictures is what makes this creepypasta, giving us an actual image as to what's happening. Also, there's the fact that gore is only used twice throughout the entire story (the dead animals in the snow and one of the final levels)
+Viewtiful Z I like the fact that gore is used very little here, as most creepypastas are: 'I got home and jimmy was split in two' or something like that.
The fact the gore is used so much, makes gore not all that scary any more.
This is one of the best creepypastas I’ve read to date, it’s the best example of a “haunted” game story, because of how realistic it is until the ending, and how the narrator speaks and reacts feels so genuine, the screenshots help add to the creepiness as these have a sense of, “are they actually real?” There’s a certain vibe I’m getting from this one, feels too genuine at some points.

Every time i hear a Creepypasta reading from anybody else, I'm reminded of just how spectacular the quality of your videos has been for so long. I'm glad you're around, haven't found a pastaman with the gripping emotions you manage to capture, regardless of what you're covering. Coming to this, I can tell you've improved over time, but damn, are these old videos still golden. Keep it up man! You're skillful readings are nigh irreplaceable.

This creepypasta is genuinely good.
The slow burn is what I like about it the most, to be honest. The game doesn't jump right into spooky weird nonsense, but with *almost* believable weirdness. It then gradually ticks up, and up, and up, until you're knee-deep in Hell.

This is so nostalgic for me. It’s been almost a decade since I first heard this creepy pasta. I was about 13 and it was one of the first creepypasta’s I’ve ever gotten into. I remember so vividly going into summer break staying up late listening to this. Going so into it through the summer waiting for the next chapter. It was one of the last times I could by a kid. Before I had to worry about the social world of high schools and all the crap that came with it. So much happened over that summer with this. Made friends, lost friends, moved away, started hobbies, listen to new artist and albums. Listening to this brings me back so much. I’m 22 now and in the middle of trying to live the adult life. So much happened in those years from this first video to now. I miss it so much.

Every once in awhile i comeback to this creepy pasta. It’s definitely one of my favorites of all time.
This is one of the best creepypastas? Why? I think it's partislly the visuals, but also the slow build-up of horror. There's also the fact that Godzilla is a giant monster. What's scarier than that? An even bigger, scarier monster.
The guy who did these screenshots was either a very skilled modder or edited them after the fact. Not that I care either way. It adds to his storytelling ability.

Gaming creepypastas have a pretty bad reputation, and the premise for this one is almost laughable. But it is the pure detail and creativity put into the story and screenshots that makes this stand out from the rest. It has excellent build up to crazier and crazier encounters, and the "lore" of this creepypasta is so interesting, and all the unanswered question just leave lingering intrigue.
The only bit I didn't like was the somewhat cliche and romanticized girlfriend backstory. It felt a little forced and almost edgy, but the rest of the story made up for it. Honest to god, one of the best gaming creepypastas out there, despite knowing how low that standard is.
Oh my god I just realized the author is named Zach and the friend is named Billy. I had a friend named Zach and currently have a friend named Billy. The two used to be friends but aren't anymore. In the story Zach stopped talking with Billy by the end of the story. Zach and I used to like each other but don't anymore. Zach's GF in the story is named Melissa. My name is Morgan. They both start with 'M'. Zach and Melissa aren't by each other anymore because in the story Melissa is dead. Also both Zach's own a NES. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

All these years later and it's still a certified classic.
I came up with an idea for an anime based off of this. Each season is a new world (Earth and Mars are two separate seasons) and every level/ boss is a new episode.
I like this one because it isn't scary, just weird. And scary things scare me. I also liked looking at all of the cool pictures! You have a great voice!
