I had something eating my strawberries, so I set a lawn chair and preps to hunt. Turns out it was my own dog this whole time. I didn't know dogs eat strawberries, but they do. Don't count on your dog to guard your strawberries hahaha
Oh no I'm sorry to hear that! Dogs are the best until they start eating your favorite things lol I had two arborvities and they started turning yellow, turns out my dog was peeing on them so they ended up dying
Hello from AZ 👋 im new to your channel i found this video super simple and liked how you explained the threats to the flowers 💐 thanks alot ill be tuning in! Best to and your garden !
The first year would be the foliage, and the second year would be the bloom. I started growing my seeds July last year, got them in the ground around August and they bloomed the following year. I did start my seeds earlier this year so I'll expect blooms next year. I'll let you know next year if there's any difference in time of planting.
I live in the Mojave Desert, zone 8B 3,000' elevation and I just throw seeds where I want them in abundance and presto the next spring I have plants and in 2 years blooms. We have a super breezy climate in our community. They are tough flowers and I only had 1 break and fall. Blazing hot summer 95-112 F and cool to nearly cold winters low to mid 30s nights and maybe upper 40s most days in Jan. and Feb. We will even get 2-3 days where it snows lightly (usually spread out and not back to back days).
Do you have any tips for the second year of hollhocks. I planted hollhocks last year and they were due to bloom this year. But as soon as it started growing foliage the leaves started dying.
ilive in kuwait which is a very hot country whith 3 months cold , i plant holyhock from seeds in a sunny area and its blooms nicly after 4 months whith 2 meters lingth 🎉❤

Thank you so much I appreciate it!
When do you plant them in the ground?
I put them in the ground 2 months ago!
If Hollyhocks bloom second year and you planted them in August, does it mean that it expedite the process?

That sounds like a perfect place to live! It's always humid where I am at and gets right to cold, no in between!
I love hollyhocks, we have a few on the go now in the garden. Imagine a whole garden of them 😊😊😊😊
What state are you in? I’m in Canada.
I live in Maryland

Were the leaves a rusty looking color when they started to die?
