Oh dah'lin...NEVER be sorry about the dog. Your doggie is just supervising and keeping you company. My cat does the same thing.

My aunt had holyhocks in her garden. My cousin and I would pick a full bloom and one that was just budding out. Leave a little stem on the bud. Poke a hole in the base of the full bloom and make holyhock dolls. My aunt would get so mad. But once in a while we did it anyway.

The small round leaves look like the ground cover weed creeping Charlie

Thank you for the video. We live in Ontario Canada and are into our second season of growing. We have our first crop f plants that bloomed .
We have them along the garage. When is a good time of year to relocate the first-year plants? I notice you have lots of leaves on your plants, I think I have over-tended ours after reading about removing dead leaves and leaves with rust . Have you got any suggestions for a newbie?

Hi! Do we need to pinch the plant when they are still seeding to promote more branches? Tnx! 🍀

I don’t seem to be able to get hollyhocks to grow for me. I have used seeds, I have bought plants. Nothing seems to work. I live in 7a . Do you have any suggestions ?. I know these will grow in my area because years ago at another house I had beautiful plants.

Are these from seeds that fell to the ground or are they from an existing plant that is sending up a plants from it's roots? Thank you.

Hollyhocks are grown from seed. They don’t reproduce from rhizomes or bulbs. The first year, they don’t flower, the second year they flower.

I’m in California. The Home Depot says they are not in season 😢

Check the seed displays - you probably won’t find them as transplants.
