Lovely builds those Kyosho cars. I never built one from new, but I was lucky to restore an original Turbo Optima for a friend 20 years ago. It had a chain drive, but the chains were so worn that it was no longer usable. This was in the early days of Ebay and I managed to find a new belt and diffs, and converted it to belt drive. Damn, it was so smooth...😍Good times 😊

They really are nice builds. Even with being older designs, they aged beautifully and were definitely ahead of the times when they came out. Drive as good as they feel. Thanks for the comment 👍

So you just went with grease front and rear in the diffs, no oil? Is there a reason you went this route rather than the 5000 to 30000 oil Kyosho suggested? I just started my Javelin build, my first kit build ever so am not familiar with what to use and why in the diffs.

I prefer grease, but it’s all personal preference. I’m use to the way it handles and the way it reacts when driving.. You can tune with different greases very similar to oil.. I generally do the thicker/stickier Tamiya AW grease for front diffs and losi great grease for the rear. Another plus for me is not having to deal with leaky diffs, though kyosho does supply extra diff gaskets, just less for me to worry about. I’d recommend to setup one kit with grease and another with oil and see what you prefer the best. Appreciate the comment and let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help, thanks for watching 👍
