  • This video is intended for people who are new to the gong and want to buy one for doing self-healing work at home OR for practitioners wanting to do healing work with clients. Many people feel intimidated by the gong and don't need to be. It's actually very easy to play in a healing context, though it requires sensitivity. It is different from playing the gong within the field of gong mastery where one learns to work with different mallets, strokes and blending many gongs for sound precision in a presentation context. I have a video about this on my website.

    Thank you for this. I appreciate your approach to the gong. It's similar to the way I use frame drum for shamanic journeying.

      Hello, provided you hav the right kind of mallet that allows the gong to resonate in an optimal way, you strike to gong to create a steady stream of gentle audible sound... little taps to create a river of steady sound, allowing the sound to breathe and fade sometimes as well, if you enjoy that affect. every gong is different - just experiment with what sounds relaxing and pleasing. if you'd like a video session with me to answer any questions, let me know.

      yes great a video session I would love it
      however, I don't speak English, I'm French, I use a translator to ask my questions and to translate your answers, is that a problem?
      I would like to know if the person who receives the treatment must be close to the gong or not, must he be in front of the gong or behind it?
      I saw that there are mallets called rubber they seem to be made of rubber and produce a sound like whale cries what is the interest of such a sound in the treatment?

    Thank you so much for your wonderful clear video. Would transportability and weight of a 30/32" gong potentially be an issue for a "slight" female, in your opinion?

      @jainwells  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi, good question. A gong made from alpaca silver is good for easy transport and set up if you are moving around with it, by car. A Chinese Chau gong is much heavier, though it is less expensive. Both I recommend for healing work.

    I would like to know what size gong would be appropriate for me as i would be playing always from a wheeled office chair, as thats my mode of getting around my small apartment, with it placed on my tv cabinet, which is a regular buereau size? I was going for a 20- 24 inch as it fits my budget and hopefully the stand it will be on. Thank you✨

      Hello Cheryl, for older individuals I recommend a nickel silver gong only - even as small as 20 inches from either Meinl or Paiste.

      @@jainwells thank you very much. I am also wondering if gong energizes the gem stones that we wear? Is your book helpful for getting more info on this matter, if the answer is yes:)?

    Thanks for the info. Just some feedback, I would much appreciate it if you could speak a little louder and in a more direct way. Not so sloow and trying to hypnotise us! It's not fun to listen to. And, a microphone for the gong too. Thanks.
