    Oops. Posted on the wrong channel. I hope to post on an overview of Nevada lakes.
    KThanks for this overview of Nevada water storage.
    I remember there was more water in the 1960's and 1970's. The late 70's was a drought period. We've had some storms in between then and now (April 3, 2023). I think the soil has suffered as it is not able to absorb and hold the water. The soil becomes like quicksand. Thus it slides down hills. I've noticed even desperate tree roots showing, as if reaching out to find water. Except it's the soil compacting and sinking which reveals the roots.
    I am hoping for a long wet winter into late spring. July skiing! It's been too long.
    I also hope for a repeat next winter with more snow in the upper northern part of California and Nevada. It's way above the norm. I'd love to see Trinity and Shasta lakes full again.
    I'd love to see lake lahonton, Pyramid lake , and Washoe Lake, in Nevada, full again. I don't think Lake Lahontan has had much water for too many years. I wouldn't be surprised if people think the hike to the beach has always been like that. In the 1960's it was way up to the grassy areas in many areas around the lake. Washoe Lake in the mid 1970's still had little Washoe.

    Please, go back with a drone. At 4:02, is something special! I know you could see it. If that is there, there's more! A lot of times, we are right on top of stuff and can't see it from the ground. That's where we used to go motorcycle and horseback riding, when I was a kid. Way before the lake! Then. It was a swamp that glowed green and we weren't allowed to swim in it.

    None of the water from Las Vegas goes into Lake of Las Vegas.....It goes thru a large drain pipe under the Lake of Las Vegas and then it goes to Lake Mead....The water in Lake of Las Vegas comes from the Las Vegas water department...Drinking water....

    • @dethray1000
      @dethray1000 ปีที่แล้ว

      your wrong--vegas reclaims 98 percent of water used--reclaimed water is used at golf courses,fountains,etc--what is not used goes out of the treatment plant to Lake Las vegas,then to the colorado river--all reclaimed water--the "drain" pipe your talking about is pulling water from lake mead for domestic use--it is also treated but not reclaimed water

    Fun looking ride! I like going on random rides like that. My son and I stayed at Lake Las Vegas when his HS baseball team was their to play a tournament. Question your title says the water goes from Lake Las Vegas to Lake Mead? Where you started your ride I’m assuming that water was runoff from rains in Vegas going to Lake Las Vegas? Just curious, I have a place in Meadview and for 25 years I’ve watched Lake Mead drop to the point where we launch the lake is now the river. It’s sad to see.

    • @dethray1000
      @dethray1000 ปีที่แล้ว

      lake mead will fill or close to it,record snows in utah,wy,colorado--that river is from the las vegas water treatment plant--vegas only uses 7 to 8 percent of colorado river--vegas treats the water used and what does not go to golf courses,fountains,etc goes to vegas lake and then on back to colorado river==vegas treats 98 percent of its water used--among the highest in the world--he mentioned at start of ride he was at the water treatment plant

    All/most of that water DOES NOT flow into Lake Las Vegas but 'tunnels under it in 2 large pipes that were put in place prior to construction of Lake Las Vegas. The water that is in Lake Las Vegas currently comes from Lake Meade via the City of Henderson. Only in Las Vegas would water tunnel under a man made lake!!!

    • @dethray1000

      your wrong--vegas reclaims 98 percent of water used--reclaimed water is used at golf courses,fountains,etc--what is not used goes out of the treatment plant to Lake Las vegas,then to the colorado river--all reclaimed water--the "tunnels" (pipes) your talking about is pulling water from lake mead for domestic use--it is also treated but not reclaimed water--there is no tunnels,just intake pipe

    • @johnnance648

      @dethray1000 Check your facts. Las Vegas Wash carries treated water, storm water, ground water down to Las Vegas Bay and actually passes UNDER Lake Las Vegas which is a man-made fantasy dreamed up by Carlton Adair beginning in 1967.

    We see photos of flowing water with signs that say: "No fishing", "No boating", "No swimming". Later we see water, apparently safe, because there are boats in this water. No connection. No differentiation. Where is the CONNECT or DISCONNECT? What is the message of this posting?
    I watched the whole thing looking for a message. There was NONE.

    • @dethray1000
      @dethray1000 ปีที่แล้ว

      the water is treated sewage water--chemically safe but i would not go in it--your in a boat,NOT IN THE WATER!!!!!!!!!---Lake Las Vegas and the river,stream that flows into it is very unique for a DESERT !!!!!!!! geezuz
