I know some video game levels that made me rage. They are the following:
      The Doom (Shadow the Hedgehog)
      Mad Space (Sonic Adventure 2)
Labyrinth Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
Scrap Brain Zone Act 3 - Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
Metropolis Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2)
The worst part in Sonic games was the underwater segments and drowning if you don't get out of water or grab an air bubble in time. That sucks!

Fun fact: For the "Cant wait to be king" level in Lion King. The difficulty spike was an intentional mandate by Disney because they didnt want players to get too far in the game if they rented it from Blockbuster. Honestly its kinda surprising how cartoonishly evil Disney can be sometimes.

@@ramrodbldm9876it’s more fun to burn on Disney or another developer when we can't finish a level quickly or die repeatedly than admit we suck at video games.

I remember an occasion on my job as a disability support/carer years ago, I was assigned to work with a disabled teenager who was playing Vice City and was stuck on the demolition level. He asked me to help him beat it and I was still traumatized by how annoying the level was. Anyway I tried for like an hour straight to beat it for him. Eventually I succeeded and it legit made his day that he got past that level! I also got a good dopamine hit from beating it too lol. I felt like it was my duty that day to succeed haha

This level is also nearly impossible on the PC version thanks to a bug that most of the time will cause you to restart the level the error happens right near the end after riding an ostrich it sends you jumping onto the head of a giraffe on the megadrive/genesis version everything goes fine but on the PC version most of the time you'll fall off and since there's no way back up there you have to restart to have another go at that section again it sucks for a glitch

I want to bring up the hoverboard race from Conker's Bad Fur Day. Having to chase down the 3 cavemen who stole your cash, the course changing after smacking 2/3, and then having to grab the final cash at the start of the race was very frustrating. All while dealing with the dinosaur that crosses a section of the map from 2 sides. I know there is the strategy of waiting a few seconds before started to not deal with the dinosaur, but they didn't make it any less frustrating with an N64 controller. Another painfully frustrating level is the 3rd gym on Pokemon GSC and HGSS, Whitney. Its such a massive difficulty spikes and a unexpected one at that since she uses the normal type, a type which is underwhelming for that time of the game. What made this fight painful is that the boss mainly consists on luck. Its either you get lucky enough to catch a Drowzee on GSC or Heracross on HGSS, you get lucky enough not to get flinch hax to beat her, or you just die. There's also barely any encounter to beat her since the only weakness of her type is fighting and there are only 2 of them available at that point.

@@NoNames-vw3bq Bosses in general usually just take practice. Sometimes guides for specific bosses online can be helpful. For them specifically, if you haven't done this already you can push this fight until later in the game when you have more life and charms/charm slots. I heard of some people taking them as their first boss fight but I didn't get to them (my first playthrough) until much later in the game and they were pretty easy by then. TBH, you don't even need to beat them to beat the game if you are going for an any % playthrough. I'm sure I skipped them during my under 5 hour any % achievement attempts. The most important thing in the area is the mantis claw (wall jump item) which you can get before reaching them. I just want to play & have fun with it but still be able to progress & hopefully eventually finish it. Dishonorable Mentions:
*The First Level - Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
-At first, this level doesn't seem too bad, but at the end of this soft pitch is... ONE OF THE HARDEST BOSSES IN THE GAME, ZHANG LIANG, GENERAL OF MAN! This is the cruelest first boss I've ever faced! And again, this in the early game too, you DON'T have a lot of options at this point! Screw you Zhang Liang, go away and let Zhuyan be the first boss!
*Cortex Castle - Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
-The final stretch at the end of the level is RIDICULOUS! Which is especially frustrating because the Flashback Tape is near the end of this ultimate challenge.
*Temple Of The Ocean King - The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
-Give other bad dungeons credit, at least you only have to do them ONCE (TWICE at most). But this dungeon is another story entirely! This dungeon sucks the life out of you! But you get the Phantom Hourglass, which will protect you from the life-draining effects, but only for a given time (which IS upgradable). The dungeon also has phantom enemies that require stealth to get around and will kill you instantly if they catch you. But that's not the biggest problem, the biggest problem is that this dungeon SEVERELY overstays it's welcome because you have to do it 5 TIMES and the puzzles inside RESET EVERY TIME YOU LEAVE!
*Flame Hyenard's Stage, The Lava Factory - Mega Man X7
-How fitting that the worst boss in the series from the worst game in the X series would ALSO get the worst level in the series! It's filled to the brim with annoyingly placed enemies and bombs which are so inconsistent as to when they decide they want to go off! Even if you just creep up on them, more often than not, you'll get unlucky and they'll go off anyway or an enemy will knock you into their range and you'll get blasted. But that's not all, there are also Reploids near these bombs and that feeds into another problem: If any attack so much as lightly graces a Reploid, they die, PERMANENTLY! And unless you have a guide or played before, you'll have no idea which ones will give you power ups. Enemies also have a tendency to spawn in right in your face. And all of this is capped off with one of the worst boss fights of all time! Flame Hyenard isn't insanely difficult, just INSANELY ANNOYING!

The first one that comes to mind is the final dungeon in Final Fantasy III. It isn't really hard if you know what you're doing. But trust me, the first time around is brutal. It is a double-dungeon that can take almost 2 hours and there are 6 bosses with NO save points. I originally had it on DS, then i eventually downloaded it on my phone and thankfully I discovered a cheat/glitch where if you know youre about to get a game over, you can just exit the app and it will start you off right in front of the boss. What was particularly irritating is the fact that the game kind of expects you to spend time leveling up. *spoilers maybe?* but the final boss is level 60 and if you play straight through the main story, you will not reach that level. Also it's literally impossible to attempt a low-level game. I think the lowest i was ever able to complete it at was 46/47. What sucks even more is that she has a move that will literally hit your whole party for 75% of their HP after you get her for half of hers, and it is pretty mucy based on luck because she may or may not use it EVERY turn, and you better hope your healer gets their move in before she gets to use it again. Because she gets 4 attacks per round, and otherwise you can expect a game over unless you're very overpowered.
Another one is Paper Mario: TTYD, an optional dungeon called Pit of 100 Trials. Also takes about 2 hours with no save point. It's 100 floors. The boss at the end isn't particularly hard when you have the right equipment. One time i played through it though and my dumb ass forgot to change my equipment before i jumped down to the final floor and the boss fight initiates as soon as you get there. At that point it was too late lol i was so pissed.
Last one i can think of is Final Fantasy X-2's optional dungeon. It also has 100 floors, with five bosses (the last one also being the second hardest boss in the game). Fortunately enough they were a bit more forgiving because you could literally warp back up and save, and still return to where you left off. It's just so tedious because the random encounters get difficult and you can only avoid them by escaping.

Omg the demolition level in GTA!!! I actually got so frustrated that I bashed the top of my Xbox in rage which broke it, showing me green text on a black background that basically said... your Xbox is broken.
Therein started a journey in which my dad helped me get it repaired, wherin we found a guy who claimed he could "mod" it. In those days I thought it was a pipe dream, but he freakin' did it - he fixed it and welded a freain' chip that stuck out the bottom, and to this day I have a classic Xbox loaded up with hundreds of thousands of games through classic emulators like MAME, to full on Xbox games downloaded via limewire (or whatever we used in those days) as .iso files, all the works. It's a beast and loved by me and all my friends.
    God bless that level!!

So many levels from the original mega man games. Talk about games that gave you a limited number of lives but also required you to have previous knowledge of the level layout in order to actually beat it.

    God of War Series.
Most levels in all video games of God of War (either the classic one during the Greek period or the recent one during the Viking era) have numerous areas that are hard to beat.
For example: In God of War 3, you must fight your way through the Labyrinth while avoiding some death traps until you rescued the Pandora. Enemies you encountered in this level are more aggressive and can kill you in a single hit, even in harder difficulties.

@@RegalRose88 It's obvious, plus the final boss itself. It's literally impossible to beat Ares without a full upgrades for everything (Blades of Chaos + all magics) because after beating Ares for the first time you'll be sucked inside a smaller area with a large battle against the doppelgangers of yourself (Kratos), which is sucks (they often kill you in one hit).

There is a level in Super Mario World (Maybe "Outrageous" in Champion's Road?) that is super difficult.
In Prince of Persia The Two Thrones, the section with the chariot race followed by a boss battle against two opponents at the same time. Either is difficult. but if you fail on either, you have to start over from the beginning.
Zelda Majora's Mask in the moon where you have to Goron roll is one of the most frustrating things I have ever done in my life.
Any level of Ghosts N Goblins
