I am a newbie. Thank you for sharing this.
Years ago, I had a bar and restaurant business. I saw one of my employees sprinkling salt on each post/corners and on the entrance. I asked her why, her reply was to drive/protect us from negative energies and invite good sales everytime we opened the place. I did not know it is a Buddhists' practice. I can attest that my business ran well and very minor problems seldom occured.
