So glad someone finally called out the dark jeans with light stitching! In my opinion, throw the rhinestone pockets in there too...completely tacky and cheap!
I love fashion so I appreciate the many different types of style options out there. I also know that taste in design varies from person to person, so while you may think a particular design looks "cheap", others may love it. I, for one, love a cold shoulder blouse. I think they can be fun and flirty. I also love a twisted tshirt. I think it adds interest in what can otherwise be considered a boring tshirt. I don't like the puffy look on the shoulders of your top, but as long as you like it, it's all that matters. Different strokes for different folks.
Ik it's older video but I really do love the cold shoulder!!! I think it's what your wearing it with that maybe could make someone think it looks sleazy possibly but I can't believe I'm reading so many hate it!!
Cold shoulders are elegant depending upon the fabric. Very attractive for women that don't want to show their arms or just want a little skin to show. Top designers are still making cold shoulder tops. Womens shoulders are very attractive no matter weight. Not everyone is thin. I am 5'4 120lb. I love cold shoulder tops and ALWAYS get compliments when wearing them. To each his own. 💕
Agreed! I like watching these types of videos and expect that we all won’t agree. That’s the fun in it. She made really good points but a lot of those old, matron like tops that were described as looking good or high end, I wouldn’t be caught dead in. Give me a sleek cold shoulder black top any day...but done right of course ;)

I ordered A leopard tank top based on a picture of a tank top in another fabric, and what I received was a completely different style, with a twist in the front similar to what Shea showed. Fortunately they have easy returns! Got to give them credit for that!😀
It can go both ways - I have gotten some very nice things from Amazon but I always read the comments and the questions - Always check the sizing chart and make sure they are American sizes and no Asian - If something is really inexpensive don't expect quality - There is no free lunch and no one gets something for nothing and cheap will always be cheap and look - Shopping better brands on sale is the way to go.

I was surprised to see twist front tops on here, maybe they're not flattering on thinner women? I like them, I feel like they accentuate my waist and give some shape to an otherwise plain tee (which, as a "sturdy" woman, plain tees cling to me too much and baggy tees look sloppy).
I agree. Twist front tops help me (a person with a large chest area) to not look like I’m wearing a tent with plain tees or crop tops. I love mine. Maybe, as you mentioned, they’re not flattering on thinner women.
I call those sorts of things designated fat girl details. (Cold shoulders, twists, weird hems/shark hems, random zippers, large bright florals, lots of textures mixed together, dolman sleeves). As a fat girl I point blank refuse to wear any of those things.

I actually like cold shoulder tops. I tend to be warm so it's a great way to actually be able to wear sleeves without being too hot and pending on the top, they look great. I have a cashmere one I love. How the under the arm part lays is key to it looking great or cheap though. Far too many clothes these days look cheap, even expensive ones. The fashion world needs to step it up. LOL Pilled sweaters look cheap. I hate that. You need to take a razor to that and fix it.
Don't give up if you like it. Maybe you just need to try a different neckline. Personally, the high neck is a deal breaker for me because with my D cups i'd look like a marshmallow (-_-) but if I found one with a V neck and slim on the body then I just might consider it
The "cold shoulder" shirts, in my opinion, are cool to wear with jeans and cute boots to a concert or with a long skirt and sandals for a relaxed vibe for a Sunday brunch. It's a way to be revealing without revealing.

True but you can find some very classy outfits in thrift stores and second time around. I have been doing it for a lifetime. And I get lots of compliments.

Can you do videos about the following: 1) how to fix/repair clothing and shoes and prolong the longevity of your clothing/accessories 2) undergarments 101 - how to pick the right undergarments to get the best effect for your outfit. I think there's a lot to be said about picking the right bra/spanx/tights/etc to really make your outfit look good. 3) all about denim - how to pick the right cut of jeans for your body type, how to use denim in more ways than for pants, what to know about washes (those terrible washes from the early '00s that looked like dirt was smeared on them!) 4) how to style common closet staples - pick one staple item (like a jean jacket) and simple outfits to make with that one item also -- LOVE your videos. Thank you for saying CHEAP and not “less expensive”. Let’s call a spade a spade 🧐💞👍🏼
Yes - "Cheap" can happen to any item regardless of price. Gimme a nice fitting pair of pants and a cute top from Walmart and it will look better than ill fitting, tacky stuff from a *designer*
😂😂😂 right!
As a Male viewer of your channel let me say I love it and I love learning about fashion from the prospective of a woman
I agree with you. I saw a women that really accentuate her waist. It looked ver nice.
I call those sorts of things designated fat girl details. (Cold shoulders, twists, weird hems/shark hems, random zippers, large bright florals, lots of textures mixed together, dolman sleeves). As a fat girl I point blank refuse to wear any of those things.
@@Billybloop k? I really like how twisted tees make my body look. I don't restrict myself to certain "designated fat girl" pieces, those shirts in particular just happen to be really flattering on my body shape.
@@caitcarpenter2234 they scream insecure and old ladyish in my opinion. If you like them that's your choice and not my business but I think fat women are expected to wear certain styles and I don't want to conform.
To anyone reading this, I hope you’re feeling well and having a lovely day! Stay safe and remember to keep smiling in these weird times, sending lots of love from a small TH-camr❤️ ❤️
Thank u, stay blssed and safe in Jesus 's name 🙏🙏🙏❤
Shea: This has five star reviews!
Me: I have questions....
Hahahaha I know right???? Crazy!!
5 star reviews from colorblind people
I love the white blouse, have it in black, white and polka dots. But the floral one was misleading, it looks so different online compared to in person.
The sweatpants with nice tops... I felt that to my soul! Literally me 5 days a week on video calls 😂
Oh, and... Respectfully disagree about the cold shoulder tops!
cold shoulder was the baine of my existence, so glad that's over
That cold shoulder top looked fab on you!
Something so satisfying about watching that little snag-puller work it’s magic =]
never knew there was such a thing. I always have a crochet hook. U can get them for about a dime at thrift stores. I've poked snags back in with pencils, safety pins, paper clips, even staples.
I need one in my life
Every time I think about unscribe to you because of my age you come up with more videos that I just love got to stay here some of your videos are not for me because I am 59 years old but a lot of them we all could use thanks girl for opening my eyes just love you your personality is so wonderful and refreshing
Totally agree with you. Also, I didn't even know there was a thread puller thingy. I need that.
me niether! I just use whatver's handy...safety pin, paper clip, pencil, crochet hook
I don't mind the first top I would wear it with black skirt or pants and black shoes to tone it down, the brown jacket is a rip off there sending cheaper items out to save money for them selves, anything see through I wear something underneath your mistakes are how you learn
Beautiful hair,earrings and makeup
THank you SO much for adding "cold shoulder" to the list!! I have always HATED that trend!!! SO glad it is gone!!
Same here! Hate them!👍😘
I actually like cold shoulder tops.
I agree with you! If you like it wear it in confidence! 😁
Agree...
Agree! But it is not just the underarm area that counts, but so the fabric.
The fact that your eyes pick up on this stuff and can put it into words is AMAZING!! Thank you for your vids!!!
Puffy sleeves are so cute and I wish I could wear them but I feel like they make me look huge😒
Too trendy and not classic for me
I feel the same!
Don't give up if you like it. Maybe you just need to try a different neckline. Personally, the high neck is a deal breaker for me because with my D cups i'd look like a marshmallow (-_-) but if I found one with a V neck and slim on the body then I just might consider it
I thought the same, but I bought a puffy sleeves fitted dress with square neckline and I love how I look in it. Don't give up!!
You can try small puffs.
The "cold shoulder" shirts, in my opinion, are cool to wear with jeans and cute boots to a concert or with a long skirt and sandals for a relaxed vibe for a Sunday brunch. It's a way to be revealing without revealing.
They pad some of those reviews with false info by giving discounts, "prizes or refunds" and free gift items in return. 🙄
this is why I use the fakespot chrome add on. It gives the best gauge for what are authentic reviews vs. total BS. It's a must now-a-days!
Aaahaaha! You’re so refreshingly funny!! 😂 “I’ve even heard of some...they look really nice on top but they’re wearing sweat pants on the bottom.” First-time connected and I love you already! Just subscribed. 👍🏼
DAMN COLD SHOULDER CLOTHES ARE SOMETHING TO FIGHT OVER FOR
people on the shop i work for always buy these clothes.
Idk maybe because i live in a warm climate and having these open shoulder thing is cooler to wear or its just in style here
She just cracks me up! "I'M NOT SORRY" 😄. Then, she pops up just enough for us to see her cute sweatpants!
You are the cutest! Love the sweater you are wearing 🤗
Awe thank you!!! YES! I love this sweater!!!
@@SheaWhitney can you pls tell us the label and where to get the blue sweater you are wearing? Want!
Great video Shea. Always disliked cold shoulder tops. Your jumper is lovely.
Oh no! I love the cold shoulder shirts!
Me too. Although a lot of people hate them, they helped me with some issues on my chubby arms, I get airy from the shoulders on those hot days. 😂😂
@@carolinalopez3648 yes!
@@carolinalopez3648 Yes, me too. I do not like shoulderless, because it gives more attention to my big boobs, and because of big boobs, I need to go for XL or XXL size, which has bigger hole and I don't want that anybody sees my bra under my armpit. If you have big boobs, you know what I mean LOL! But t-shirts are too close and warm for the summer.
I like them too. Wear what you want. When she is older lol, maybe she will understand why we gals like them sometimes. . . .bat wings.
I have a cold shoulder top that I get complimented on every time I wear it. This is her opinion but I will continue wearing mine.
The white blouse with the beautiful sleeves is the first purchase I made after watching your video. Love it and yes there have been more purchases because of your recommendations! Thank you Shea for sharing!
One time a old man came up to me at walmart and told me "you forgot your sleeves!" I was wearing a cold shoulder top 🤣Lol ❤
Hilarious!
I love cold shoulder !!
I think its flattering to most women esp mature women. It show off the sexiest part of your arm
@@milletteregacho7158 foreal I've seen some very pretty types of cold shoulder tops!
Not even a fan of cold shoulder tops but why do people, especially my age, 68, and older feel it is their business to make personal remarks to total strangers.
@@milletteregacho7158 Not really! I have just gasped seeing women following this fad and looking hideous. Only a very youthful trim person can really swing this style, no ageism intended. I am a trim 68 and I would not wear this. Of course, I would not wear it at 25. Just not a fan.
you are killing me!!! lol! love love your humor!
I have always hated cold shoulder tops too!
Saaaaame.
First one to watch! Love your stuff shea
Ahh that makes me so happy!! Thank you!
100% agree with your point of view!
YAY! Glad you enjoyed!!!
Thanks so much for making these videos. Sometimes we need someone to point out these things for clarity.
I can totally understand when it comes to quality but you have to remember, Many may not always be able to afford the most expensive and also what may look strange to you, may look good on someone else who knows how to wear it.
True but you can find some very classy outfits in thrift stores and second time around. I have been doing it for a lifetime. And I get lots of compliments.
I like the fact you get to the point and not a lot of nonsense talk!
Ugh I have such a pretty high-low dress BUT it has a gross lining😭 I just wish there was an extra layer of fabric
Really enjoy your videos, info & engaging personality.
Good point about blue & orange being across from each other on the color wheel. They are "complementary" colors, not "complimenting". Complementary means "completing".
Well, tbh you look great in everything shea 😘
Awe you're sweet...thank you!!
LOVE everything about the sweater you are wearing! I've never seen a "snag puller"! That's genius!
I love how she just dropped that waterfall jacket on the floor. 🤣 I just sent an Amazon waterfall jacket back for the same reason.
I love the way you talk....you are soo polite.....also very helpful video
The first blouse made my eyes pop out😭 and not in a good way LOL
Omgosh I know! Too funny!!
All of her clothes did that to me
I bought that same sweater that is tan/white and I loved it too. I did notice the snags especially when I turned it inside out....full of them. Loved the video, Shea!
Loved the video, thanks for sharing such great tips. I love watching your fashion tips videos. They are so helpful.
Awe thank you SO much Taylor!!!
Lots I agree with you on. I think the shirts with the twists on front is to help camouflauge a woman's tummy. Unfortunately, it can look dowdy if done wrong or cheaply. Just my thoughts. Good video. 🤗
Love your videos. Your tips have helped me so much ❤️
Awe thank you so very much!!! That makes me happy!
Excellent and fun examples! Thank you for finally stating that those bizarre cold shoulder tops are cheap looking! I hate them. I’ve never tried one on, but 10 to 1 I’d stick my head in the wrong opening, lol!
I'm glad that trend is over. I thought it was SOOOO ugly
@@twinfairviews2893 but is it over??!! 🥴 I hope you’re right.
P G We can only hope...
I once convinced myself that “spoon” wasn’t a word bc I kept saying it so much that I doubted its existence in the English language 😂😂😂
?
Great video Shea! I also do not like the shirts with the little tie or swag right in the center front that came out a year or two ago! I certainly do not want to accentuate my stomach LOL! Have a great day 😎
I wish I’d seen this video before buying 3 shirts with the lumpy twists 😆
🤣
I'm right there with you!!! I LOVE my lumpy-twist tops!!!
Cold shoulder sweaters, on the other hand....
I have some too for my leggings, LOL. Oh well.
🤣🤣🤣
I hate those! Who needs added tummy padding! I couldn't believe I just saw them (still!) in a dept store ystdy!
Hi Shea, I took to heart your comment about light stitching or embroidery on dark jeans. I had bought some that were on sale and fit really well, but had some white embroidery on the right front. It did sort of bother me. So today I took a navy Sharpie, and just colored it in!
Yes! Yes on all of them 🤦🏻♀️ that “cold shoulder has always been somewhat of a question mark to me.
The brown layering piece is really nice!
“snags “ drive me nuts!!! Also, when the stitching does not match the fabric color...like why? I’m very particular about details on clothes like that.
I can’t stand when stripes or plaids don’t match at the seams.
It’s funny because in Indigenous culture, a snag is someone you pick up at pow wows. “Oh, look! She found her a snag for the weekend. Nayyyy!” 🤣🤣
@@BellyJae That is funny!!!
@@BellyJae I can see that usage. 😃
I like the pink blouse with the flowers. I wouldnt mind the contrasts, it has a modern wibe.
Thumbs up while wearing my cold-shoulder dress. 😀
Can you do videos about the following:
1) how to fix/repair clothing and shoes and prolong the longevity of your clothing/accessories
2) undergarments 101 - how to pick the right undergarments to get the best effect for your outfit. I think there's a lot to be said about picking the right bra/spanx/tights/etc to really make your outfit look good.
3) all about denim - how to pick the right cut of jeans for your body type, how to use denim in more ways than for pants, what to know about washes (those terrible washes from the early '00s that looked like dirt was smeared on them!)
4) how to style common closet staples - pick one staple item (like a jean jacket) and simple outfits to make with that one item
also -- LOVE your videos. I wish I would have thought about style vlogs a long time ago so I could have made a career of my love of clothing and fashion
Omg the light stitching on the darker pants. 🤦♀️ I think that is something I’ve rejected since grade school. Hate it! Gives me Gemma from SOA vibes (even though that show is phenomenal).
I do agree with you especially the cold shoulder blouse 👚
What’s funny is you looked good in all the outfits you showed. You’re one of those lucky people who looks good in pretty much everything.
Contrasted stitching is one of my number one pet peeves
I thought i was the only one that just didn't like cold shoulder tops, i completely agree. Also, what in the world was that first blouse/shirt situation, damn
I'm with you on the cold shoulder tops. I've always thought they looked horrible. Don't understand the point of the style. Not many people have attractive shoulders to show off. LOL. I'm also with you on all of your other points as well.
That second clothing piece had me dying. Lolol she said “I don’t know if you see the difference or not” I’m ded!!! 😂😂😂😂
Haha 🤣😂 so cute with ur sweatpants! Love ur content & watching ur channel grow!
Hahahaha yes I crack myself up in the silliest of ways!
