  • In this video I show you how I treat frizzy hair of My Little Pony figures to get it silky and smooth again.
    Products used:
    Hipp Baby Shampoo Sensitive
    Garnier Fructies Repair & Shine Restoring Conditioner for dry, damaged hair
    Schwarzkopf got2be Schmusekatze anti-frizz lotion
    Flat Iron with adjustable temperature and ceramic heating plates
    Important: As some have pointed out in the comments, if a pony gets water inside, there is always a risk of rust or mold, especially if it still has the original metal washer on its tail. If you are worried this might happen, take care to thoroughly dry the pony. I recommend detaching the head (if it comes off easily!) and drying it inside with a soft towel, then let it sit in the air with both parts separate for 24 hours. It has never happened to me, not even with my original childhood ponies that I regularly took into the bath with me. YMMV though, especially if you are living in a humid climate!
    "My Little Pony" is a Hasbro trademark.

    Watch out for tail rust! The thing that holds the tail in is called a washer and its metal. If it rusts your pony has to have his or her hair re-rooted or something else. That's why it's best to replace the metal washer with a plastic one. It can also get stuck in the pony and make mold! Yucky. One of the things I do to wet the hair is wiping the hair with a wet towel or something like that. Didn't know if you knew that so I thought I'd let you know. Also make sure to never put ponies with light pink hair (or cutie marks) in direct sunlight, that causes some shades to go white :P Anyway, nice video! Also sorry if there's any spelling mistakes/missing words my tablet corrects stuff and won't let me fix it :(

    running your pony under water like that is not a good idea. Water gets into the body very easily through the tail and causes tail rust and mold problems.
    Otherwise great video!

      As long as you continuously point the pony bum down you shouldn't have a problem with water getting into it. I've washed my ponies like this many times and haven't had a mold problem yet. Then again maybe I'm just extremely lucky 😌

      Rachael Regan it should work and not get mold. That's why the towel is used.

    Thank you, I already know this is going to be amazingly useful! I have a few ponies I've tried the boiling method on, and it just won't work. It's good to know I can do this and not worry about their hair melting.
    Also, Fizzy is my favourite.

      +Bewilderbeastie Glad you liked it! Oh yes, Fizzy is such a wonderful pony. And what a fitting choice for the video - Fizzy, frizzy... ok I'm seeing myself out now, haha!

      My childhood Fizzy looks much worse than this one, I think a bit of a spa day is in order! And again, thank you very much, this is so helpful.

    Nice explanation! :)
    I use almost the same method to fix the hair of my ponies :) The only difference is that since I haven´t anti frizz lotion before smooth the hair with the flat iron I spray the hair with fabric starch :D

    • @cutemakesmehappy6807
      @cutemakesmehappy6807  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Valerie Pony Rainbow Fabric starch - that sounds interesting! What I've heard others do and tried myself was simply leaving in more of the conditioner. I found it to be less effective though; the "slimier" the hair is, the better the straightening effect!

    What a nice tutorial! It was amazing how soft and smooth the pony's hair got in the end. I love your voice, too, it's very relaxing. Will you do more videos in the future?

    Fizzy has curly hair. You destroyed her natural hair pattern 😱😧😓

    • @cutemakesmehappy6807
      @cutemakesmehappy6807  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for your reply, I appreciate the concern! I have only ever seen her with straight hair, maybe light waves - additionally, none of the pictures on My Little Wiki show her with factory curls. However, the goal here for this video was to show how to de-frizz frizzy hair. This pony's hair was very frizzy, which is why I picked her for the tutorial. At the end of the day, every collector has to decide themselves if they rather have a pony with frizzy hair, but factory curls, or want to fix the hair to be silky again and then redo the curls (if applicable).

      Cutemakesmehappy-
      Pony frizzy hair mostly only happens with curly hair ponies. A deep conditioning and light combing will fix this.
