    Kodachrome was a B&W film where the color is added later on the development process. The B&W has more tones than color film which gives this tridimensional contrast on McCurry's photography.

    Even though Steve McCurry probably edits his images today in Lightroom or similar, I doubt he was doing much to them back in the film days. He was shooting Kodachrome, and if you look at the video about his last roll of Kodachrome, you will see how the images look straight out of camera. No edits there :)
