This is amazing Sammi. Is refreshing to see someone married with a kid taking a solo trip for their mental health and to cross over their own personal bucket list. Have time alone to think and reboot ❤😊
I've done it for the first time when I was single (after a toxic breakup nd toxic friends and loads of therapy) bt the excitement and feeling of accomplishment is very similar.

It's so refreshing to see a woman who is a mother taking time out for herself and for her mental health. It's a thing we all need time to time just be by our selves regroup and then we can be the best versions of ourselves for those around us.

Such an imperative point made in this video Sammi , it is possible to solo travel within you're relationship/marriage and alot more appreciated as a mother. This type of balance creates more positive energy within yourself and also refreshes your point of view on things. Would love to see more vlogs like this

When you were describing your anxiety about being in the hotel alone, the feeling of awkwardness eating alone at restaurants while solo traveling -- I thought I was hearing myself speak! It's crazy, I am EXACTLY the same way. I admire you for tackling these fears and also sharing your experience with us. I'm also so happy for you for being in therapy. I have been in therapy for a while and it's helped me enormously. You will feel better and find your balance, you are smart and sensitive and creative and it's only a matter of time and exploration. And if you ever take a trip to NYC, you have a fellow anxious friend to commiserate with

Personally I found myself through eating alone and solo hotel staying during a solo trip. Maybe you guys had a purpose back home and missed it?

I’ve been on 5 solo trips and you learn a lot about yourself and you grow as a person. It’s one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Don’t feel guilty for leaving your family, it’s only a few nights and it’s same as a girls holiday away which I know lots of mums that do regular girls trips. Every human is entitled to their own time once in a while xxx

Sammi never feel bad about needing time to yourself. Mom guilt is real especially when your child is so young BUT it is necessary to recharge and reconnect with yourself. I did it and don't have any regrets at all. Now my daughter is 22 (I have a son 20 also) we have a very healthy relationship. PLUS, now that she is an adult (she says she's grownish lol) we get to take gown up girl trips together and that is priceless. Alone time helped me to be a better mom and a stronger woman for my children :)

No one can stop you, you're all the way up! I've only solo travelled a couple of times in my life, but it's so nice, and liberating. You feel so free! In my daily life I love going to fancy restaurants, cinema, cafes, etc. alone, it makes you feel quite powerful.

When I travelled to Copenhagen on my own as a student I had a really bad cold and a nice Danish lady took care of me at the hostel💖 It was an amazing trip! Right now I'm in the Alps with my family and sick as well, but I noticed it's a choice to enjoy your holidays anyway!

You should go somewhere sunny near the sea like Spain. Because you seem very anxious and nature and sun help to sooth the mind and renew your energy.I think you will benefit of some monthly alone time like go to a movie by yourself, go have a nice meal at a restaurant even going for a walk in a park. After some times you won't feel awkward to do things alone. Take care of you first otherwise you won't be able to take care of others ;)

I travel solo a lot, both for work/studies and just for fun. I find that if you are afraid of feeling lonely, it’s always nice to stay in a hostel because it’s so easy to meet people there and you can go somewhere together or even just have a chat while making your food. And even if you don’t want to stay in dorms, many hostels also have private rooms. I personally also love the freedom of traveling solo. If you want to go somewhere or do something, you don’t have to ask the other people you’re traveling with if they’re up for it as well, you just do it. And yes, it’s good for self reflection and dealing with issues, because you spend a lot of time alone, while at the same time also meeting others (if you want to) who have different backgrounds and perspectives on life. It’s great! But yes, eating alone remains one of the less fun things of it, although watching something on my phone or reading helps for me. I hope this trip has been good for you, and many more will follow!

Absolutely loved watching your vlog! I also agree with taking the time out when needed from being a "mum" "wife" and everything else that comes with a title and just recharging, taking the time to get the much needed space and clear the head. I am someone who deals with mental health and its a constant battle but I take regular breaks when I know things are piling on in my head or its getting too much and I always feel so much happier returning to my normal life feeling much more content and happier :) x

I love solo traveling! It's does amazing things for your soul and mind, especially as a woman. There are many destinations that I think are great for traveling alone. One of my favorite destinations has been Japan, specifically Osaka. Going to a place where you don't speak the language, and you don't know anyone there can sort of force you out of your comfort zone.

I couldn't help but laugh 11:52 , youre reaction was priceless. I had the same thought in my head. LOL! Again, I love that you're doing this experience on your own. Leonard Cohen is exceptional poet, musician, artist from my country - Canada. His song “Hallelujah” is iconic. Thinking back to when I was a young mom I wish I had travelled more on my own because I think you take in things differently when you are by yourself - more opportunity for mental and spiritual inspiration that can be good for us and for those closest to us. Hope you are feeling better.

What I love about this is that even though you know people will judge and we are all socialized as women to think we shouldn't have alone time when we become moms and wives, you still did it and you out it out. I truly feel like you and your channel provide TH-cam with something much needed, quality, depth and authenticity. Your channel is about so much more than clothes and content creation. It's about living breathing women and that is why we connect so well with you. I feel like you should be an editor or stylist in a big fashion magazine or house. You have so much authenticity to offer. 💞

Stupendous growth, Sammi! Learning to stand and sleep on your own are wonderful changes. You know that change is ever constant in this life. Cambio es muy bien. Where would we be without it? Trapped in a bad dream getting worse with each clip! I knew your excitement and apprehension when I traveled to the DR alone for my 60th birthday! I love these kind of videos. I vote for more! Tener un buen miércoles! ✈️

This is such an inspiration for me! I went through a tough time with my job and quit and suffered low times. In the time between my old and new job I had a week to myself, I contemplated getting away and trying solo travelling just for 2 or 3 days for an experience and to tick off my bucket list. However yet again, my overthinking and social anxiety put me off. But now I know it's not as scary as it seems. Thank you so much

I love your points about solo traveling! I've dreamt of doing it ever since i was 15 years old and while the idea has always been intimidating, I've always known it'd also be freeing. I really saw that in this vlog and I'm happy for you!
BTW! I know you've already returned and that you'd planned the trip way before you got sick but it's unsafe traveling while ill... both for you and for others, but especially for you!!! Glad you're most likely better now, tho.

Yes please do a video on what was going on for you mentally. I was in a bad place last year mentally I think it was turning 30 that did it. It made me look back on my twenties what I felt I did wrong what I should have done I spent a whole year being in the past and not present, I decided to go to therapy, I wanted to do a trip by myself last year but my mental health wasn’t great so I’m gonna go this year! I’m still not 100% but I’m trying to work on me for me, and have and amazing year!

It's too bad you didn't know who Leonard Cohen was so you could really enjoy the exhibit! He was a Canadian singer, songwriter, poet and novelist amongst other things. His most well-known song is "Hallelujah" which we all know in its many incarnations throughout the years. He was hugely influential through his music and songwriting, tackling issues of social justice, politics, war, etc in his art in general. I hope you have a chance to listen to some of his music because he was a Canadian gem.

I love solo travel! It's great going with friends and family, but I find so much freedom in just going by myself sometimes.

Loved this vid. Sometimes you have to just go for it and see where life takes you so well done. I have a 9 month old baby and you have definitely given me some inspiration.

Yes to solo traveling! I’ve been wanting to do the same and I’ve been planning to visit Canada since it is a few hours from home. It’s so important to take time for you and your mental health!

Watching this in March 2022 about to go go on my first solo trip in 3 years….to Copenhagen! Also I gasped when hearing you in Feb 2020 say you’ve got a virus 😧😂 obviously we had no idea at that point what was going on lol. You’re giving me outfit inspo for my trip and getting me so excited to go!

That was so refreshing to see Sammi! 😊 Even though I've been solo travelling quite a few times, I could really relate to your little nervous moment on Saturday morning before going out. It all can be very daunting while you're still in your own "safe space" (e.g. hotel room), but normally as soon as you go out everything falls into place. I loved seeing you exploring Copenhagen and getting more and more comfortable on your own. I wish you all the best 💕

I've traveled on my own before but only to English speaking countries so always been a bit scared to go alone to Europe. Copenhagen has been top of my list though so it was really interesting to see this video.

You're so inspiring and refreshing Sam! I really want to do an abroad trip on my own. Ridiculously, the thing that puts me off is eating alone, especially in the evening. I just feel so conspicuous! X

Please do a video on solo travel! Through the years I've been on 4 or 5 trips by myself, but nothing outside Calif. I want and need to explore the State's and Europe, though it's difficult to make myself actually book a trip. It's definitely outside of my comfort zone! So sorry you weren't feeling well.

Lol my Dad loves Leonard Cohen’s music,. Cohen passed away 3/4years ago and my Dad played his music the whole week. Laughing at your reaction to his ramblings..he was a bit odd I think. I grew up on Sunday mornings waking up to Leonard Cohen, Hugh Masekela, Miles Davis, Abdullah Ibrahim and the likes blasting through our house, cause my dad💕
