    Nice tips TV. I appreciate the clear distinction between a reckless push and a flank. I'd say I'm about 70/30 on flanks vs reckless pushes, but when the pushes get too reckless, I know my team takes the brunt of the damage.

    I went flawless earlier today but it took me 37 games. I was really confused bc while I’m not a top tier player by any means, I was averaging a 2.21 KD this weekend and still not getting to the lighthouse. I kept blaming teammates as I found myself the last alive trying to clutch rounds. Eventually I realized that despite being an okay player the main reason I was last alive was bc I kept trying to do my own thing and play and position myself where I felt right, completely disregarding my teammates positions. They may not have always been the best but me leaving them alone to fight somewhere else wasn’t helping the team or myself. I found the second I let them lead and helped them by team shooting and such it became a lot easier to win. Sure I couldn’t go around on the major flanks I wanted all the time or other things but in an almost obvious way, sticking with team mates and playing at their pace made the games so much better.

      Yeah I did that in a few games as well. Join a gun fight for some easy kills lol. “Run with them if they don’t run with you”. I was on a confidence card this week, fell at the gate once, and got it the second time.

    • @nefstead
      @nefstead 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is huge. I'm not the greatest player and my aim is weak so I tend to have a lower kd, but I played a game the other day where the "best" player on my team kept losing us rounds by ignoring the objective and running off to do his own thing. I tried following him so I wouldn't be challenging the enemy team alone, and it just resulted in us losing the capture point. It doesn't matter how good your stats are: if you're not paying attention to the game state and trying to work with your team, you're not going to win consistently.

      Been solo flawless many times and yes you succeed more by playing as team. It’s true going get very bad teammates which can’t do anything about. I like pay how attention how passive or aggressive my random team is. If my teammates are running meta or running pve loadout. It makes much easier to spot players Need to keep alive. Make sure they don’t foolish try something stupid.

    Sidearm+pulse is such an effective combo. I never much cared for specials, and with the ammo nerf, missing a shot is too punishing for me to risk it. Pulse+sidearm or even pulse+smg makes you consistently lethal at any range

      It’s not double primary, but I’ve been running forerunner + SMG and it’s incredible. Shayura/borrowed time punish apes if you just backpeddle when they push you, and the magnum’s lower zoom makes it more consistent than a sniper in the mid ranges where SMG’s start experiencing sever falloff now

    100%. I play a lot of solo (comp, trials, control) PVP and all these things are super important. I get pretty angry when we are in 3v2 and people go for solo hero pushes (essentially a 1v2 locally) and just leave the body behind and the round converts into a 2v2. It's OK to move on the map as a *unit*, team shoot and control the map as long as the enemy has no chance of turning things into a 1v2 locally or getting behind the line and getting control of the revive. Impatience loses rounds.

    That first mistake is my greatest problem for awhile. I would go out of my way to survive and dunk on my team because they died, only to realize I was now in a 1v2 or 1v3. After I started fighting more, focusing on winning with my team instead of winning by living the longest, I started to feel a lot better about my plays.

  • @spencerashford4469
    @spencerashford4469 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One more tip I’d say has helped me improve a lot is if you are going to hop into trials, IB, or comp alone, you need to build around fighting 2v1s or being able to confidently challenge multiple opponents. Weapons like Crimson, tarrabah, or even armor like liars handshake will allow you to make plays that don’t rely on you having to wildly out perform your opponents and will let you pull off flanks and duels where you are outnumbered or face opponents in quick succession more easily. Even if you’re a great shot, sometimes that just isn’t enough to beat good teams and being able to build around your weaknesses and enable your aggressive plays will take you far in this game!

When I solo on certain maps I do that just to give some radar pings, but usually the plan is to just run back to the team if the enemy things they are getting 2v3 and make a reckless push. • @DarkDemon259
    @DarkDemon259 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's frustrating when I play with teammates that are too passive/scared of the enemies. When an enemy is trying to push an objective, either a revive or capture point, that's when you should be doing anything you can to stop them. There's few things more annoying than seeing an enemy get revived completely uncontested while a teammate waits with a special weapon behind a corner.
    As a solo, I find that it's better to play aggressively from the start of the first round (not foolishly pushing but proactively getting a pick or two rather than reacting to the enemy push). This tends to influence both your team and the enemies. If you win that first round with your team being the aggressors, it makes the enemies more afraid to push and it makes your teammates more confident in pushing/being proactive. You essentially influence the enemies to be more passive/indecisive which leads to more opportunities to take control of the match. Play aggressively but smart because rushing in blindly and dying because of it will do the opposite and make your enemies more confident that they can push you.

    The big thing I tell a lot of my less skilled friends when they try to play comp or Trials is that the number one mistake I saw grinding out solo Unbroken was people playing like Quickplay. Your life matters and you need to act like it. SO MANY people spawn, run to wherever there's red on their radar, and shoot whatever gun they have equipped until they or someone else dies. Usually them.
    As a result, I see a LOT of teammates who play like their goal is to shovel our reserves into the garbage as quickly as possible, and then I get one or even ZERO respawns to work with while they go out and slap a fat 1-3 out for the round. You can't just sit around forever, you DO have to fight. But unless you're just not capable of winning a 1v1 ever, you need to learn to pick your battles.
    Did you lose the balcony snipe-off on round one Bannerfall? Well, give it another crack, maybe your opponent was just lucky. But after the second death, STOP GOING UP THERE. Not only are you not accomplishing anything, you're preventing your teammates from maybe doing something more effective with that revive later in the round.

    Biggest issue as a solo player in trials or comp is matchmaking..why do I have to carry two dead weights every match lol

    I was playing a match in gambit, I know, I know... Titan invades our side. he pops thunder crash. I pop nova warp jump in the air and let it go as he's passing me. Got the kill. At the time I didn't even know that was possible. I honestly feel like nova warp doesn't get enough credit in pvp.

    Tom's #1 rule for all PVP modes: Do not assume your teammates will or even can back you up. Assume they are bad with zero game awareness and will get killed immediately, because that is usually the case.

      The indecision is the biggest thing that drives me nuts. I play solo a lot and I'm awful but I don't just sit there. Nothing drives me nuts more than getting an opposing team down a player, I start to push and my team just stays back. It's infuriating.

      The one that bothers me most is not locking down a ghost in Trials. "I got him, Coach!" Nice, now we get to kill him again because you stopped to emote, got yourself domed... aaannnd we just got ran over 🤦‍♂

      Another easy way to pop a bubble that I found (like no lie, I found this myself one time) is Sweet Business (shouldn't know if I should share this in case it back fires😅), it takes about a mag or two (I think, IDK, haven't done it in a while) of Sweet Buisness to destroy a Ward of Darkness, hope this helps you in some way😅😁

    I appreciate your tips TV! I am all for you getting sponsorship, esepically because I am from a single income family with college age kids and can't afford to financially support. I enjoy the content, and it never bothers me when videos start with an add. I hope more people understand the impact they have for you content creators!

    Pretty sad that content creators who work their asses off have to feel bad about making money for their efforts. The thing is, is most of the people who complain about ads are too young to know what work and responsibilities are.

    Great insight! It takes a lot to go into pvp, apply these, and then learn from your mistakes to get better. But I feel like the payoff feels so rewarding. Thanks for the tips!

    I lost a trials match... Last round.... 4-4
    Both my teammates had supers, the other team had none because I nova bombed the enemy when they put down well of radiance on the capture point in the round before which caught us up to 4-4
    Both my teammates... In a 2v2, didn't use their supers and died.
    One was golden gun, the other was thunder crash

    I'm seeing a lot more boudica-c gameplay in your videos recently. Is that coincidence or is there a reason? I personally think that boudica-c feels like an entirely different weapon with the sidearm buff, all together.

    the huge mistake i keep making is not switching to a titan so i can get overshield or a throw a healing nade, or put down a rift as a lock, and sit in place with my pulse rifle and sidearm so i can wait for my .5 second cooldown on my abilities to be ready. i know this is a childrens game, i swallowed that pill a couple years ago but damn.

      Really? Warlock is OP? Total combined warlock usage rate in trials is lower than just one hunter subclass, and you’re complaining that it’s the OP meta. This smells like coping

    • @zykotek1221
      @zykotek1221 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fort809 what are you on about? show me were i used the word overpowered? do not put words in my mouth, and how did you automatically jump to one thing. op meta? what? if you used that thing up top for once and think, you would understand what im implying. but i see now where you're coming from. the state of this game is clearly made for you.
