Wow it's the end of December and you're out in your garden wearing a t-shirt and able to have windows open. I'm jealous! Lol jk. Up here on Niagara Falls it's cold but at least the snow is gone. Happy early New Year's! 😊
Lovely native spaces 😊 - Im doing a native ‘trial’ garden next year- it’ll be my learning. RE resources, I’d recommend anything with/by Heather Holm (website, youtube vids, books) - she’s a bee scientist but the only one I’ve come across who’s also a native gardener
You mentioned that you were going to do controlled burns again. I'm curious why again this year if you did last year? I totally understand why you would use that technique, but I guess it's more so the frequency I'm curious of. Also, I agree with you regarding the muhly grass that blocks the view. It would be so cool if you had a whole muhly meadow:) it looks like a great plant to work into dried arrangements too.
Sadly blue spruce live here- too hot and weirdly wet soil at the wrong time of year. But I could plant Juniperus virginiana. There are ilex opaca in this bed but it takes them forever to take off.
I travel for work for the last ten years. The garden doesn’t need much attention, especially in winter/ spring when most gardening symposiums are held.
@@BrieThePlantLady I love the look of mountain mint in vases and I also used it as a filler in my porch Xmas tree this year. But I will keep it out of the ground.
Definitely- it’s much more vigorous after a burn. It doesn’t have all the thatch that collects water and causes rot. I’ve only been burning for a year but it’s really an amazing management strategy.
Sir/ Madam your video quality is very nice, video seo is not good so you are not getting enough views, I want to be manager of your channel, I will rank video and design intro, outro, super thumbnail.
@@BrieThePlantLady Thank you very much, I am not what you think. I am a professional digital marketer and TH-cam expert, I will design your channel's thumbnail and rank your videos, your channel will get a lot of audience and subscribers will increase Thank you Shaon sarkar
Happy holidays to you too, Brie!❤
The seedheads look beautiful!
Great to see you have a channel! I think of you often when I am gardening.
On my gosh, how are you?!?
Happy upcoming New Year
How wonderful!

“Winter” in Nc is so crazy! It’s why most of New York has relocated here 😂
@BrieThePlantLady Can't argue with that lol

Edits edits and edits. Story of the garden haha. My malamute/aussie mix also loves prairie grass, its like it flips a switch in her brain!

The salvia looks so good; like snow. Maybe, a blue-green evergreen in the center like a dwarf blue spruce surrounded by muhly grass?

Will you be doing a video on the burning process.? That's something new that I've never heard of. Very curious. We have a native garden in CLT.
Yes for sure! And we did several last year too th-cam.com/video/OkmxYTODb0M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oAZATAwYO5LLLrkQ
Who takes care of your garden while traveling? How nice to be able to travel, is this a regular trip that you take?

I’ve got my pycnanthemum in pots. Is it aggressive. I am afraid to plant in the ground. 8a Georgia
Yeah it’s very “capable” 😂 I figured in these native beds it’s fine if it spreads and takes over- sort of the point I guess.

Do you prefer burning that Muley grass rather than cutting it?

Ugh, Chickweed! Sooooo much everywhere, but will not be in mouth.

I appreciate the offer, and realize I’m terrible at the “back end” of technology but I don’t have a budget to invest in your services.
