Berger showed a good deal of humanity in this interview. Something you don't get to see very often. A likable guy.

28:59 Gerhard with his then mechanic Toyoharu Tanabe. Now he's Honda F1 Technical Director. Gerhard handed constructor trophy to him & hugged him when Verstappen won 2019 Austrian GP.

One of the best drivers to never win the f1 wdc,. I remember when i Played the f1 game on ps1, i used to play as Berger many times, in the f1 97 game aswell,. It was those games that got me into formula 1,.

22:39 you can hear an instant note of worry in Hunt's voice when Berger crashes. He knew that was a bad wreck.

22:40 I remember as if it was today watching the race when he crashed at Tamburello. Admittedly, he was no longer the same (as far as speed in concerned) after this crash.

In 96 at Hockenheim few laps from the end I was expecting to turn my situations with my bet on Berger to win.. I don´t remember what it would have been but the odds were ridiculous. Anyway. My favorite driver who is still alive and not my countryman. We´re nothing but dust in the wind. Unless we topple the powers that be that is.

Very strange… I just watched another interview with Berger and he said nothing was the same after Senna’s death. He felt it a lot and said he was never as fast as he was before.. Here he says the opposite… (???)

Riccardo Patrese's crash to Gerhard Berger - Berger thinks that was his fault. I think it was Patrese's fault for staying so damn close. Drafting is one thing but this isn't NASCAR. That's how you die. Best way to survive in the race is to give your competition plenty of room. If you are so close to them that you have no chance of watching what they do, then you probably should use the other lane maybe.
