Kinda funny how when Yandere Dev DID get that professional help, he said “f*ck you! Don’t touch my game!” just because this pro wanted to fix the coding to make the game functionable.
I remember when two? I cant remember developer groups or Studio's had come onboard to help him and sooner or later left working on the game. First i thought creative differences? then you start to see what a control freak money grubber he seems to be.
I was 16 when this game was announced. I graduated high school, had 2 terrible jobs, served in the military, and learned how to program before the game's release.
I was 13/14 when the game was announced. Since then I’ve finished highschool, had 3 different jobs and moved house twice. I’m currently 23 and going into college (fingers crossed). This shit is worse than the boat arc of berserk
May as well chime in here. I was 14 when Dev started. Graduated HS, worked a good handful of jobs, and am due to get married within the year. This dude was always pathetic. Even back in 2016-19
Don't worry, we all liked Yandere Simulator one way or another in the past. We were all fascinated by the yandere trope in the mid-2010's, and even though today many see the trope as a sussy guilty pleasure of edgelord weebs who clearly needed to touch grass, in the end it was something fun. Too bad YandereDev chose to skip the touching grass part.
To be fair we were naive and younger plus it was genuinely a pretty interesting premise. It's just the execution and the personality of the developer that ruined everything.
To be fair, back then the dev timeline was probably better, and we had no idea his progress would slow tremendously (or rather that it was non-existent from the very beginning)
Things that have come out since development started on YanSim: - Undertale and 2 chapters of its sequel Deltarune - Cuphead and its DLC, which were both animated by hand - Bendy and the ink machine and its sequel - Baldi's basics - Poppy Playtime - Untitled goose game - Every Star Wars sequel - Disney+, HBO max, pretty much every streaming service except for Netflix - Doki doki literature club - Stardew Valley - Inscryption - Hollow knight - Matpat's retirement - Countless shows started and ended in this time - the entire app of TikTok - The entire fnaf franchise (like 10 games and a movie)
Not to Mention Pikmin 4, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, the rest of the Nintendo Switch's Library and an Epic Mickey Remaster Trailer having released, with the Game likely coming out before he reaches his Game's next Phase of Development.
Man I missed the nostalgia where I always watch kubz scouts playing yandere simulator, and where I didn’t know who the developer really was, I’m glad all the major ytubers who play the game stop making content of the game
Meanwhile in TH-cam Community: Matpat retired, Tom Scott retired, Pewdiepie is married and has a son, Dream revealed his true face, Colleen Balinger got exposed for being a groomer, Tecnoblade Passed Away, Mr Beast did a lot of charities around the world, Nickocado Avocado started to lose weights (probably not for long) and many more
Another problem which wasn't mentioned was the fact he did eventually get an indie publisher to help out with the game (tinyBuild) but he hated the fact that the helpers had better code than him so he cancelled the deal. That was an actual chance for him to get the game finished and he absolutely blew it because he didn't want to learn actual code.
@@Nerathul1 so many "if" and "else" statements. He also has no intentions of finishing the game, wanting it to stay in limbo because he wants to keep earning the money he makes by being a lazy sleazeball living in his mom's basement, and buying sex toys that he uses as he fantasizes about being in a relationship with a teenaged anime girl. Plus, his first sex doll was already broken, meaning that if possible, he could get charged with aggravated SA if given the opportunity. Plus, we now know that the police are refusing to do diddly squat about it, because of freaking course they wouldn't. The worst part is his fans/stans/simps are willfully blind as bats, and are willing to stick by him unconditionally (and he knows this; that's why he's still doing what he's doing), meaning that this guy will never leave unless actual legal action is taken. Fun fact: Yandev used his patreon money to buy a sex doll. And for some reason everyone seem to forget his older controversy of sexting with a minor. I cant believe he still has fans.
What's even worse that he added his sex doll to a game full of minors (YanSim takes place in a high school, mind you), which is the "Mai Waifu" girl which obviously translates to "My Wife". He later added a "real name" for her for obvious reasons lol

Side note but am I the only one who notice Blum house making their movies “girly” the FNAF movie SPOILER WARNING had that pillow fort scene and made Abby the 8 year old a crucial character, and made the movie overly cute. Their movie “M3GAN” was essentially about a little girl having anxiety over the concept of death s now their new movie about imagery friends once again seems like it will star another little girl. an actual studio took interest years ago (around the time of the "what's taking so long" videos) and wanted to work with him, which he agreed at first until they saw his code and expressed that they'd basically need to start from scratch and offered suggestions/to teach him how to code more efficiently, and he took so much offense at the idea that his code isn't absolutely perfect that he fired them all and then went on a woe is me rant about how he just HAS to do it all by himself bc reasons. bro HAD a team. he didn't want it.
The guy actually had a team. Some volunteers, being a young girl, were also targeted by him to talk about "inappropriate" stuff, there's even a screenshot of it The guy is just a big sign of red flag people on the internet always referring to.
It’s not really that Yandere simulator is ambitious, it’s just that he can’t focus on important parts of the actual game, where he just adds small random things that don’t contribute overall to the game.(from my understanding)
@@ZukaUnare Yeahhh but what I’m saying is FNAF is an example of a game so simple, one person could truly develop it on their own. Yandere Sim was supposed to be this open world sandbox filled to the brim with things to do, places to go, clubs to join, and apparently 10 distinct rivals with their own stories scattered throughout. That’s what I call ambitious for just one person to develop all on their own.
The thing is I feel like a game with that general idea (or hell, the opposite, playing the senpai pursued by a yandere) COULD be really really cool. However, it was unfortunately made by someone who most definetly sees it in a fetishizing context which doomed the game from the start
Oo I actually just got accepted into college and will be going for a bachelor of science in Psychology. What was your experience like (if you don't mind me asking)? 😅
Yandere Dev is basically a textbook example of what NOT to do as a game developer, he did literally every possible thing wrong and failed spectacularly at making even a mid game. It's honestly baffling how he's managed to have a fanbase for a game that isn't even special in the slightest in design, story and mechanics. The game is not unique at all.
I used to work as a secretary for a private school and one of my jobs was answering emails from the state education dept and the diocese, etc. Seriously Ydev putting secretaries down shows his lack of intelligence. It's not hard to get a good competent professional secretary.
I had a secretary I absolutely LOVED when I went to private school. She’s worked there for years, most likely up until the year the school got closed down.
My mom works at the front for a veterinary office, she’s answering emails and phone calls at the same damn time for the entire shift, only having two days off a week. YanDev is just so incompetent that he refuses to believe someone can actually be good at their job
Either that or set up an auto reply based on a select list like Notch did when people kept sending emails about herobrine. That way the sender will get a reply, while Alex can spend more time working on yansim.
Remember how when some other people tried to make their own YanSim, and progressed their game in a fraction of the time it took YanDev thus exposing him as unbelievably incompetant, he literally threated to kill himself if they did not stop development? Pepperidge Farm remembers
An adult complaining about having to work at something that was supposed to be his dream job and dream project. Blaming others for his inhability to finish a game because "e-mails gives me axiety, y'all have dumb ideas and waste my time". Proceeds to stream daily and uploads a chart showing his "12 hours of work per day" are in fact around 5 hours of coding, that will sacrifice to do personal things if needed.
You want to know a fun fact? I believe back in 2019 or so, I E-mailed Yandere dev. I was actually "undercover", trying to get some info out of him, cause it was around the time there were many allegations. But anyways, he was pretty nice in the E-mail overall, but when I suggested a gameplay feature, he instantly shut it down. The feature was; use a tool similar to the Bombers' Notebook in Majora's Mask to keep track on all the events. Use Yandere-chan's "yandere vision" (a feature pretty much useless as far as his game goes) as a way to see where you can gather info, and use info to note down in the "notebook" when and where events will take place. (the idea was, if you find something that can be used as a murder weapon, the object will glow, and allow you to "check" it, where yandere chan will have some internal monologue about ways she can use it. It would make her seem way more creative and ruthless, and also reward the player for exploring the school and finding stuff, instead of needing to ask info-chan for recipes for how to perform the murders. The yandere vision can be used the same way to search for clues and info on rivals, all of which will be noted down, so you can check it later in case you forgot.) He said no, that he couldn't do that. I was like, okay. Didn't talk to him anymore after, since it wasn't very interesting. Then some years later(?) he came out with a new video, announcing the notebook feature I proposed, which he originally turned down, and made it out to be him who came up with it. He even referenced Majora's Mask, the game I had given him as an example. Except, instead of the player needing to gather info to note down events, you just magically get them for free. So, my idea was still better than what he implemented in the end, he implemented a lazier version, pretty much. Edit: Lol, people don't have to believe this. I know there is no proof posted in the TH-cam comment. But there's literally nothing to gain from likes on a TH-cam comments, so the accusation that it's made up for likes is a bit... ridiculous? I just wanted to share my direct interaction with him. And no, I didn't want credit for my idea, as it's not really my idea (except for the yandere vision concept), it belongs to Majora's Mask. I mentioned it to point out how lazy he is. I proposed the idea, he turned it down, but then implemented the idea around 2 years later.
Wow u rlly out here the reason the game was made better 😂😂😂 ofc couldn't do it himself without not crediting someone else's idea. TYPICAL YAN DEV THAT WAS A RLLY GOOD IDEA THO
@@JRL-8 Yeah, but he didn't implement it the way I suggested anyways. He just made a notebook where all the events and conversations between students are listed for free, you don't have to actually stalk anyone to find out when they are meeting up and where. (ya know, like an actual yandere would...) So I don't really think it made the game better. I wasn't looking for credit at all, as it wasn't really my idea to begin with (it's Majora's Mask's). I just found it hilarious how I had sent him that email with the suggestion, mentioning Majora's Mask and the Bombers' notebook, then 2 (I think it was 2) years later he came out with his video announcing that very new feature, mentioning Majora's Mask and the Bombers' notebook as if he *just* thought to implement a feature like that, when he'd gotten that suggestion years ago, and he was just too lazy.
He absolutely is an incompetent developer. Another developer had looked at his code and critiqued it for how sloppy it looked and gave him points to improve it substantially. He got super angry about it and I'm fairly sure he blocked them now.
He used to partner with TinyBuild to work on YanSim. But Alex later fired TinyBuild because he thought that TinyBuild "changed the code into something he can't read" 💀

@@lovelyyn7699 The entire vibe of yandere sim acted like a shelter for it I think. The "I hate my fans and fantasise about violence towards them" implications were understandably overlooked or written off as being "on brand" when it's coming from the guy making the already rather edgy sandbox game about an anime highschooler killing their classmates. Given that constant looming backdrop as context, it made it pretty easy to not take it seriously if you weren't already inclined towards thinking critically about what he was saying or were otherwise willing to trust he knew what he was doing and take his word for it.
"Cuphead took 9 years to make and DDLC took 2.5 and Undertale took 6 🥺" but the difference is behind those games were people who were actually good at programming and time management. Toby Fox had some health issues and classes to focus on as well as doing all of the work with some mild help from friends as well as an artist; the creators of Cuphead had to hand-draw every single frame; and the creator of DDLC personally programmed the game and did the music by himself with the art made by someone else.
@@randompromises1038 It's not just that. Fox and Temmie and the Studio MDHR actually had passion for their creations and _wanted_ to make something they could look back on once they're past their prime. The passion the Yandere Developer had for the Yandere Simulator has been gone for a very long time; otherwise, it would've been finished by now.
@@LuznoLindo oh I heavily agree. You have to have passion and love for your art instead of solely seeing it as some iconic investment. literally, they tried to help with optimizing the game to help it run smoother but because it was changed so much, he couldn't understand it anymore...which is hilarious to think that they improved it so much that he couldn't read it and had to go back to his copy and paste beginner's code
They didn't try to help out of benevolence, either. He *HIRED* them to help... then tried to sue them and reverted his code back when he realized that he couldn't read programming done with proper practices and principles.
The fact even youtubers when “panties” were a big thing back then, found it weird and wrong..and that it shouldnt even matter- like seeing and hearing Mark go “is this really necessary..?!” With such discomfort in his eyes- and i cant believe i didnt see anything wrong back then.
That is a very bad example cause geometry dash is constantly getting new content through community. If it had no online features and only the base levels, it would have been a dead game years ago
As someone who has studied this game's lore in and out, let me tell you something: This game's lore and backstory is this tangleweb intrigue plot with contrasting plot points. It's a twisted dating sim from the perspective of a yandere! No, it's about a conspiracy involving the world's largest tech company! Alex will casually share details about characters and tease plot twists on places like Reddit (do you know any competent writer that would do this unironically??). There are characters with detailed backstories that never make any physical appearance in game. After much consideration, I've figured out why it got this bad: Alex uses these plot details to hold onto whatever fanbase he has left, especially after some controversy occurs. This pattern of behavior ramped up in 2017, when the game really started becoming controversial. Even if the game wasn't controversial, there are simply better options out there (like Hitman), so he's using this cluttered web of knots he calls a story to keep people hooked. AND IT WORKS. This game is not worth playing for the story. This game is not worth playing for the gameplay. Once this game's development ends (one way or another), let it be a lesson on what not to do.
You got a point on that, I mainly just care about how Ayano’s story goes. To be honest, I could care less about yandev and his problems. If only he could give the game to someone else.
The game "story" and lore is all over the place like there a cursed family line big tech company that owns half the world a girl who can hack into everything there a female version of gaster who related to the tech company ghost and demons just exist and there something under the cherry blossom tree and all of this is for a game about a yandere I'm not making this up this is 100% part of yandere simulator
It feel like yandere dev only made yan sim lore convoluted because mascot horror game like fnaf BATIM and hello neighbor had lore that was all over the place because around 2014 to 2017 yan sim didn't really have any lore it was just dating sim game gone wrong yandere but as time goes one it lore became bloated to the point that I can't tell what going on because yan sim lore builds it self like a mascot horror game except yan sim is not for kids and chalex only had the convoluted lore when the first wave of exposing video happened also the lore of yan sim is so bad that matpat didn't bother making a single theory video about yan sim think about it for a second If anyone want a good dating sim game gone wrong game play doki doki literature club that way better then yan sim in every way
Each time someone criticizes game mechanics he has to wedge in a reason for why it's in there. Why is everyone 18+ in a high school? Roleplay high school. Why is Ayano emotionless instead of a traditional yandere? She has a disorder that makes her not feel emotions. Why was Taro special for treating her with kindness instead of anyone else who was nice to her throughout her whole life? Because yandere disorder. It's funny how often this happens.
I personally find the gameplay fun (for an hour or so), and the story, while sort of a mess, is fun to fill in the gaps myself or rewrite. The actual characters and overall basic plot he's made are, in my opinion promising and to a degree, compelling. The game's premise is a good one, just pulled off... lets say, mediocre at best.
@@aptalsandvic5355 well it’s not entirely cuz the game genre is cursed. Alex has personally gone after ppl who made games like his and harassed them to stop. The worst thing is people give him money for this kind of game but Illusion already made complete games with more story, degenerate gameplay, and tons of character customization. Some people are just that desperate I guess.
How? YanDev only makes $1,578.26 USD from his patreon per month, which equates to $18,939.12 USD annually. That yearly salary is similar to working full time for $9 USD per hour, which equates to an annual salary of $18,720. No full-time developer would be working at such a low price.
I guess it speaks to how great the premise for the game is. People REALLY liked the concept of Hitman+Dating Simulator. He's like the Star Citizen of indie games.
It really got kinda pathetic after a while. He complained FOR YEARS and refused any suggestions like private emails for collaborators so they don't get mixed with other emails or hiring someone to filter emails for him. He really just never seemed to want to take advice on anything. I never supported Yandere Dev, but if I did, seeing that would automatically cause me to stop donating money to him because essentially, he's telling his views to stop supporting him because "more support = too much pressure to complete the game". But the reality is, he's trying to say "Guys, I want you to keep giving me money, but I want to do less work, so stop pressuring me to do more work and just give me free money."
Sloth : Him prioritising playing trashy video games over working on his game. Lust : His perversion and strange sexual fantasies involving teenage girls. The sex doll he bought with his fans' money. Greed : His shameless hoarding of all the money he has made off his generous fans. Wrath : His terrifying outbursts when losing in games. The obvious rage he badly conceals with a condescending tone in his videos. Pride : His belief that his game is akin to a gift from God bestowed upon us mere peasants. Gluttony : Wanting to put everything he likes from other pieces of media into his game--and believing it would work. His shameless spending of his fans' money on leisure items. Envy : The way he reacted to other people who made better versions of his game.
While Yandere Simulator was in development, i became a game developer and made 2 games, 1 free game just to see if i could, and another one just to earn some money. Now i'm a dev on a studio in a project that'll take at least 4 years, let's see if he can manage to finally complete it till then...
@@Midori-Chan-t2k The free one was a space shooter called Sky Keeper, like Sonic Wings or Galaga, but it was rogue-like. Unfortunately this one was out of the playstore because they've updated their store to only accept 32 or 64 bits so i had to update the build, but after so much time i was too busy to do it, and i would rather remake it since 95% of it i did alone and has some sentimental value to me xD (The father of a friend of mine still has it on an older phone, plays it everyday in the bus when he goes to work, pretty cool) The second one is one that i'm not proud of, was a puzzle game for steam, it was made in 2 months and it's like 1 dolar, called Robotic Learn, i never recomend anyone to buy it tbh because i had to use marketplace assets and my friends REALLY putted on a leash on my making me not do many mechanics as i wanted so we could do it faster, and we were just trying to try out steam for the first time, so yeah. Oh i did make an FPS too, but i made for a private client and i don't know what he did with it, i saw some news from a friend that he used to make an NFT game, if that's true i have no idea, but i'm pretty sure is abandoned atp. (The guy wanted to make the new "Frefire", too bad i was the only one working on the project, it had potential, but oh well, the money at least paid my bills and christmass diner) Right now, i have 3 projects on hold (A turn based worms-like rpg, a story driven vehiacle game and another rogue-like) because of my current one in the studio, it's pretty big, it's still gonna take like 1.5 to 2 years, and i'm under NDA so i can't even give details unfortunately =/
The Yanderedev Discord Ban Speedrun is definitely his magnum opus. I had so much fun watching people competing to get the world record. The funniest part is that it was the byproduct of a terrible person and his terrible actions.
Yeah. It was so much fun seeing people raiding his discord and speedrun getting banned from his server lol. Guiness World Records should've gave an award to the fastest person being banned from his discord
didn't he buy his hacked subreddit too?? think he did cuz I got banned after he got it back. He wiped it clean. I remember shitposting with everyone... It was a good time.
Idk why but his tone when speaking sounds so condescending to me. It's like a middle schooler tutoring a preschool student with a smug sense of superiority.

i honestly was so worried hazbin hotel was going to be a yandev situation where it'd never come out, but even if we only got 8 episodes in almost 5 years, at least we got something, and whether you like or dislike the show you can acknowledge time and effort went into it, unlike this mess of spaghetti code and stupid ideas.
Also let's not forget that time some other people started making their own Yansim game which already looked more impressive and he lowkey threatened to commit unalive over it and falsely accused them of stealing assets which he didn't even own himself
Don't forget that cup asset with so many polygons that caused a ton of lag. The funniest thing? It was hidden behind a wall so it didn't even had any purpose in the game beyond just being there and making your PC fan become a jet engine.

@@mitsuhh yeah, and the scope are big as well, what i want to aay is, this is an indie game with development time surpassing AAA game dev, with AAA game qualities. @@Rainy_Astra that's true. Or is that just sprung on the player? Cause I know when I first played I sure as fuck wasn't an adult yet (tho ig panty shots weren't quite as much in the game at that time)
I actually worked for YanDev on the game as an animator in 2016. Back then I was a senior-level animator, and (as he stated to me himself) was one of the "most qualified" people (let alone animators) he'd ever worked with. I created a couple of animations for him to help flesh out a new feature for the game (they revolved around the delinquents I believe), and then he asked me to create an intricate system of animations for something else that would've resulted in like... around 50 unique animations or something? Since I've also spent a number of years in independent game development, I offered a different solution for the system that made better use of his resources, trimming the staggering amount of work he was asking for down to 6 unique animations. This was to help achieve his goal more easily and to better focus his work where people were most likely to see it, as many of the animations he was asking for were failure mechanic that players was unlikely to see. He said to me, "Sorry, but I don't subscribe to that method of thinking." I then left the project. 3 years later (2019), he reached out to me, asking for help in creating an Undertale Easter egg. I never replied.
@@vibinmikegothyped3270 given the story of the partnership between alex and tinybuild and its eventual fallout, OP's story doesn't seem very far-fetched to be honest, considering both are related to alex's convoluted ways of coding too

yandere dev is a lesson for every content creator in general, dude was literally given everything on a silver platter and somehow threw it all that away due to his toxic personalities
The most telling thing for me on what Yandere Dev's true motives is the TinyBuild fiasco. They were literally going to make the game for him, and he turned them down... because they were going to replace his coding and make it actually WORK. Yandere Simulator is his personal ego trip, his toy to "play" game dev, and far be it from him to have it actually scrutinized and *gasp* changed into a functional product
Even funnier, remember that video where he announced his partnership with Tinybuild? He made it private, you can’t watch it anymore on his channel. He pathetically did it to save face but he was wrong. Dead wrong.

Rumour has it he is only around to 2018's emails even now in 2024... Poor, sad, sad YanDev stuck in email hell in his basement sipping on his chalice... Will he ever finish reading his emails?
I remember him making a whole video to basically say "if you're under 13 / 18yo (don't remember exactly) don't send fanart cause they suck", he's always been a disrespectful and lazy creep who somehow still got a fanbase for nothing in return, not even basic respect
I immediately decided he is a red flag a year after the demo came. one of fancomic that he shared is about that yandere girl brutally murdered her cat after finding out the boy doesn't really a cat person (not even hating, just not really into cats). That's out of line for me already.
You can kinda tell he's incompetent when he decides we need a whole ass section of town you need to go through in order to get to school like 7 years ago.
I apologize for my previous statement. It's not fair to expect such large progress from this man in such a short amount of time. After all, he's probably saving up to buy a fifth Switch!
His 'do not suggest' rant is literally the reason companies have suggestions close after a while at times then reopen them when needing new ideas once the batch is implemented.
Kinda funny how when Yandere Dev DID get that professional help, he said “f*ck you! Don’t touch my game!” just because this pro wanted to fix the coding to make the game functionable.

I had a secretary I absolutely LOVED when I went to private school. She’s worked there for years, most likely up until the year the school got closed down.
Getting a good secretary costs money. I highly doubt Yandev was willing to pay anyone to be a secretary.

You have a good point
The yandere vision can be used the same way to search for clues and info on rivals, all of which will be noted down, so you can check it later in case you forgot.)
He said no, that he couldn't do that.
TYPICAL YAN DEV

@allyart5904 Yeah, I totally made up that very specific scenario, and replied with it under some TH-cam video for no reason at all. *sarcasm
@@JRL-8 Ofc, the yandere vision thing was my idea entirely, but he'd never implement that. It's probably beyond his abilities, lol.

The game "story" and lore is all over the place like there a cursed family line big tech company that owns half the world a girl who can hack into everything there a female version of gaster who related to the tech company ghost and demons just exist and there something under the cherry blossom tree and all of this is for a game about a yandere
I'm not making this up this is 100% part of yandere simulator
It feel like yandere dev only made yan sim lore convoluted because mascot horror game like fnaf BATIM and hello neighbor had lore that was all over the place because around 2014 to 2017 yan sim didn't really have any lore it was just dating sim game gone wrong yandere but as time goes one it lore became bloated to the point that I can't tell what going on because yan sim lore builds it self like a mascot horror game except yan sim is not for kids and chalex only had the convoluted lore when the first wave of exposing video happened also the lore of yan sim is so bad that matpat didn't bother making a single theory video about yan sim think about it for a second
If anyone want a good dating sim game gone wrong game play doki doki literature club that way better then yan sim in every way
Each time someone criticizes game mechanics he has to wedge in a reason for why it's in there.

While Yandere Simulator was in development, i became a game developer and made 2 games, 1 free game just to see if i could, and another one just to earn some money. Now i'm a dev on a studio in a project that'll take at least 4 years, let's see if he can manage to finally complete it till then...
What games? I wanna play a game that's actually done lol
What games?
@@Midori-Chan-t2k The free one was a space shooter called Sky Keeper, like Sonic Wings or Galaga, but it was rogue-like. Unfortunately this one was out of the playstore because they've updated their store to only accept 32 or 64 bits so i had to update the build, but after so much time i was too busy to do it, and i would rather remake it since 95% of it i did alone and has some sentimental value to me xD (The father of a friend of mine still has it on an older phone, plays it everyday in the bus when he goes to work, pretty cool)
The second one is one that i'm not proud of, was a puzzle game for steam, it was made in 2 months and it's like 1 dolar, called Robotic Learn, i never recomend anyone to buy it tbh because i had to use marketplace assets and my friends REALLY putted on a leash on my making me not do many mechanics as i wanted so we could do it faster, and we were just trying to try out steam for the first time, so yeah.
Oh i did make an FPS too, but i made for a private client and i don't know what he did with it, i saw some news from a friend that he used to make an NFT game, if that's true i have no idea, but i'm pretty sure is abandoned atp. (The guy wanted to make the new "Frefire", too bad i was the only one working on the project, it had potential, but oh well, the money at least paid my bills and christmass diner)
Right now, i have 3 projects on hold (A turn based worms-like rpg, a story driven vehiacle game and another rogue-like) because of my current one in the studio, it's pretty big, it's still gonna take like 1.5 to 2 years, and i'm under NDA so i can't even give details unfortunately =/
It was a good time.
i actually had the pleasure of talking to him and calling him out, got blocked very soon after lol
That was probably the best game he ever made out of all this lol
There was another guilded server he opened up after he was exposed for grooming but it was banned. Roblox dont want pedos.
Idk why but his tone when speaking sounds so condescending to me. It's like a middle schooler tutoring a preschool student with a smug sense of superiority.
Him and middle schoolers aren't exactly on great terms right now anyways. 😏
@@andreamuggloymaybe because he's obsessed with MIDDLE SCHOOLERS
at first i was like: oh he cant be THAT bad
then i saw heard his voice and went: NEVERMIND-
At first i thought 10 years wasn't that big then i realized I've gone through middle school Highschool and the start of university, gone from being 10 years old to 20 years old, during the "development" of this game
Same I'm almost 19 and 10 years is almost half my life. Hell if yandere simulator was a child it would be in elementary school
This is what I’m tryna to wrap my brain around too. Someone said they were 8 and they’re about to finish school..
@@JL-vv7rfi mean, 8 + 10 = 18. As someone who is 18 now and a senior in HS, it is CRAZY that its been 10 YEARS.
@@mantis-manthegreat I mean obviously it’s basic math right, 8 + 10 = 18
Unless there’s something new that I don’t know of lol. Anyways, absolutely mind blowing to see it all
bro we got hazbin hotel before yandere simulator, that's crazy
i honestly was so worried hazbin hotel was going to be a yandev situation where it'd never come out, but even if we only got 8 episodes in almost 5 years, at least we got something, and whether you like or dislike the show you can acknowledge time and effort went into it, unlike this mess of spaghetti code and stupid ideas.
Also let's not forget that time some other people started making their own Yansim game which already looked more impressive and he lowkey threatened to commit unalive over it and falsely accused them of stealing assets which he didn't even own himself
than every time the new game gets tractions, the people/person working on it get outed as a predator
Ironically, Alex's fans make YanSim fan games that's even better than his sloppy work lol
@@peatato and they managed to produce something pretty much fully finished after his game initially released and BEFORE it was finished.
Don't forget that cup asset with so many polygons that caused a ton of lag. The funniest thing? It was hidden behind a wall so it didn't even had any purpose in the game beyond just being there and making your PC fan become a jet engine.
Nice PFP bro
It’s crazy how MOST OF US were young kids when we first found out about this game… now we’re probably teens/young adults now😭
😂😂😂
This game started development when I was only a toddler. I discovered this game when I was only in 1st or 2nd grade. I'm in junior high now, and this guy is still milking his game

You know what's funny, putting the rivals in would probably be the easiest part, even with all the conditionals: like additional steps rivals take to be safer as the school becomes more of a corpse party.
Now, of course, the point is is that the game is a patreon scam and that's all it's meant to be...
No no, Corpse Party is a different game--
The sad part is, I don't think it was meant to be a scam at all. I think he's just genuinely that incompetent
@@kaitlyn1689You may be right, mostly because I believe he predates when patreon scamming became popular. But he did pick up on it at some point.

I was in middleschool or highschool when YanSim got popular. Ive moved states since then, got married, and I even got to see my baby sister being born. It's been a LONG TIME.
Can't believe this game demo took longer than the entire production of Stardew Valley, which was made also by one person, and I can't believe this game demo managed to OUTLIVE AKIRA TORIYAMA
it outlived queen elizabeth, kentaro miura and akira toriyama I'm crying 😭
Fun fact if he keeps it up for 5 more years this game could become the next duke nukem😭 and I’d argue if that does happen to be the case we should just move on from yandere simulator and accept it’s never gonna get finished, ever
CDPR start to develop cyberpunk 2077 in 2016, and bethesda start to develop starfield in 2015, this game takes longer to develop than AAA games, hell, blizzard manage to release diablo 4, before yandere dev finish his stupid game, despite starting development at the same years.
@@lilia-ai AAA studios have 100s/1000s of devs...
@@mitsuhh yeah, and the scope are big as well, what i want to aay is, this is an indie game with development time surpassing AAA game dev, with AAA game qualities. It's actually a good thing that he posted those "Don't send me utterly stupid emails." texts and videos. How many _more_ young fans would've contacted and started chatting with him if not deterred?

17:10 I wonder if it's a coincidence that "secretary" is often seen as a "woman's" job, and he worries that the secretary would be lazy, slow, and stupid... I smell possible misogyny
Honestly why am I not surprised that he might be a bit of a misogynist (not to mention that constant sexualization of his female characters-)
He's always viewed women in weird ways, so you're not too far off.
He's an incel, misogyny's guaranteed.
@@Rainy_Astra that's true. After all, it's not like the game has "boxer shots" last I checked (well, last I HEARD)
Also, question because I haven't played in like, well, a decade - is the game stated obviously to be nsfw/ecchi from the start?

Wow
Bros so prideful 💀
I don't know if your story was real or not, but if it were, then that would be the very definition of "work harder, not smarter" 💀
@@vibinmikegothyped3270 given the story of the partnership between alex and tinybuild and its eventual fallout, OP's story doesn't seem very far-fetched to be honest, considering both are related to alex's convoluted ways of coding too

Also asking for help for an undertale easter egg of all things is wild.

Dead wrong.

It really is. As dark as this reads, let's face it: The Yandere Simulator will never be finished, and it'll simply die with its developer, and life will go on.
The part where kids who were 9 when this game started would be 19 now hit me hard
Because that IS me. I followed close to the beginning and I finished highschool and have had a job for while
