I wasnt really into Corrosion of Conformity until I showed a friend this who wasnt a Misfits fan but a COC fan and pointed out that they totally ripped of COC. I laughed and listen and still love both to this day. Corrosion of Conformity - Clean My Wounds
Pickups are pretty hot and compared to Gibson's '57 Classic+, a little darker; more into the contemporary tones. I really like the wide neck profile and the 24,5" scale length plays very comfortable.
Yes, it differs a lot from what we are used to. Even outside your comfort zone you manage to play an amazing cover. By the way, have you seen this one: The Hunger - Misfits, bass cover. It's very metal-ish. It didn't take me out of my comfort zone, as I play a lot of (old school) metal.
Thanks and thanks:) I got the guitar last Tuesday and I'm really happy with it. The second guitar that I have owned (out of, maybe 15) that played like it should, right from of the shop and I didn't have to change anything in the setup. (the other one was a Schecter)
Correct. But there seem to be two versions around; one with a solid mahogany body and one with a mahogany body and a maple top. The one that I have has the maple top.
Probably, but since I almost never play in drop D and did this song just as a one-off experiment, I couldn't be bothered. ;) BTW all other who I have seen covering this song play a half step down in standard tuning, just like I did. Not sure how Doyle played it though...
I really would like to help you but this one is already 5 years old and in the meantime I switched gear. This was recorded with a mic'd up Orange Tiny Terror with the gain maxed out is all I remember. No clue about the tone settings and what other tone corrections I did in post processing though.
That PRS sound amazing! Nice cover Woody, it's always a good time seeing you pop up in my subscription feed. Is there a possibility that we may see some Bad Brains in the future?
He/she sure does... very happy with the purchase:) Bad Brains, not very likely unfortunately. A little bit out of my league with regard to the lead work.
Thanks for your help! I've looked up your video a couple of times to get a good impression of the chord pattern and was finally able to pull this one off...
Marcus Pintor I never said that you're stupid but because your YT profile is empty I couldn't see if you are a musician. But do me a favor and go watch a live video of the Misfits playing Helena and you can see that Doyle plays his chords at the exact same positions as I do, and since I was tuned Eb, so had to be Doyle.
Quicker than me lol! A video about my amp setting would be very short. My Tiny Terror has only 3 knobs; gain, tone and master volume. Dependent on which song, I only change the gain level. (for this song I maxed out the gain) Tone is always around 4 o'clock. Controls on the guitar are always fully open. After recording I might do a little EQ'ing in Cool Edit to tweak the final sound.
woodyamsterdam yeah.. but the part i'm talking about happened more than once because you were playing the wrong chord. it happened at 01:34 when u go to the 7A 10A and 9A. instead the sequence goes 7A 10A 8A
one of my favorite misfits song. That fast part after in intro messed me up so bad when i was learning it. It's so damn fast! great cover man!
Yeah but this dude plays like Doyle, fast and you know he’s not playing around
Nice. Looks like a fun song to play.
Dude, you have perfect tone
Thanks! Needed a lot of trial and error with the amp settings...
You forgot to down punch your guitar on the verse
+Dr. Emmet Brown
Probably I forgot a lot more;)
woodyamsterdam it always makes me laugh seeing Doyle play when he punches the strings. Power cords through brutal strength and roids.
Good one
2ManyTattoos Woody has forgotten more than you will ever know.
@@TheRealCaptainFreedom down strokes yes, but let’s see you play it bro.

Corrosion of Conformity - Clean My Wounds
So, I wasnt the only one to think it
Been waiting for this one! Great job!
Thanks a lot!
Im trying to animate the first 40 seconds of this song and this really helped as reference
That PRS looks and sounds great!! Probably a little brighter than the LPJ and suits your playing style better!!
Pickups are pretty hot and compared to Gibson's '57 Classic+, a little darker; more into the contemporary tones. I really like the wide neck profile and the 24,5" scale length plays very comfortable.
Lurning this at the moment pretty fast but you nailed it man congrats
Joel Riddington
Thanks man!
Damn that sounds clean!!!
Great cover as always! Do you play half step down, or in stsndrad tuning? Thanks for your videos, always a pleasure!
This one is a half step down. Thanks for your comment!
wow you're fuckin amazing guitarist! I'd like to play so good! and this sound is awesome!
Thanks for the compliment!

woodyamsterdam SE 245, right?
Correct. But there seem to be two versions around; one with a solid mahogany body and one with a mahogany body and a maple top. The one that I have has the maple top.
Well they are a beautiful guitar, and they feel great too
This could probably alternatively be played perhaps more easily in Drop D. Or even standard.
Probably, but since I almost never play in drop D and did this song just as a one-off experiment, I couldn't be bothered. ;) BTW all other who I have seen covering this song play a half step down in standard tuning, just like I did. Not sure how Doyle played it though...
woodyamsterdam I like figuring out my own way to play a lot of songs. Like Sabbath in standard.
Please tell me how you got this tone, I absolutely love Doyle’s tone!

woodyamsterdam ok thanks, I can probably figure out the tone
hey woody can u make a video about the settings of your amp ????
Bad ass bro!
Good cover... havent made a cover of that that song :(
*****
Thanks! Great song but not easy to copy...
Love!!
Thank you!
Amazing Cover Bro

Can you please give me the chords to wart hog by the ramones?

Can you do their song Forbidden Zone?
+Marty McFly
I can give it a try but I don't know when. My request list is becoming too long...
I am currently trying to learn it and fucken hell its so fast I can’t downpick it lmao
I heard your bird in the the background at one point if it was a bird
Yes it was lol!
Tab?
Tabs plss
doesn't have that original powerful feel to it but it's fair enough
Thanks for your honest comment. Yeah it's far from perfect but I had a lot of fun doing this as a kind of one-off.
@@woodyamsterdam it's very cool though, the fact that it's uncut is impressive!
Fuck yeah Woody !! \m/ 5*
Thanks for your help! I've looked up your video a couple of times to get a good impression of the chord pattern and was finally able to pull this one off...
wow man that means a lot :)) thanx
prs?? buuuuuhhh mosrite ever!!! jajaja fantastic woody
Hahaha... The right tool for the right job;)
ok
Gear?
PRS SE245. Orange Tiny Terror (gain maxed out) with a PPC112 cabinet. Mic'd up with a Shure Beta57a.
tuning?
A half step down if I remember correctly.
What tuning is this on
E flat.
i thought it was corrosion of conformity
esta bien pero práctica el palm mute
I don't know what your face looks like, but I already want to marry you
+Sunny bunny3724
Lol!
It is standard tuning ?
It's a half step down.
woodyamsterdam no it isn't, E standard
Marcus Pintor
E Standard but everything down a half step, so basically you are tuned in E-flat (D#). That's how I have played it.
woodyamsterdam ....i know how tunings work im not stupid....it's not in Eb standard it's in E standard.
Marcus Pintor
I never said that you're stupid but because your YT profile is empty I couldn't see if you are a musician.

This is way too suburban
Do you not know how to palmute?
you messed up one little part of the song
I know lol! Towards the end after the last fast part...
woodyamsterdam
yeah.. but the part i'm talking about happened more than once because you were playing the wrong chord. it happened at 01:34 when u go to the 7A 10A and 9A. instead the sequence goes 7A 10A 8A
momjack012 You're right and I stand corrected;)
woodyamsterdam
Your Ramones covers are superb. I love the ramones. Never got a chance to see them live being i was only 5 when they broke up lol
momjack012 Thanks! I had the pleasure of seeing them live on several occasions. An experience that you'll never forget.
No palmute is killing me... Sorry gotta dislike it because of that
No problem man. Palm mutes are not my strongest part. You are the first responder who motivates a dislike and I do appreciate that.
woodyamsterdam Palm mute or no great cover.
Honestly I don’t see any problems with the palm muting
Is standard tuning?
Standard EADGBE but a half step down.
Thanks👍🏼🤘🏼
