You know what, I think Chan ended up becoming a "cursed artifact" because of his resentment towards Khatha (for his betrayal) and him being corrupted by those who were his "church followers" aka Tay´s character. As the other stories of people corrupted by cursed artifact we have seen throughout this series, Chan could only feel anger but once Khata hit him with the dagger he somehow was "released" from that anger and could become himself again. He could actually see what Khata did for him all these years and ended up finally forgiving him. That is the only explanation I can think of as to why he was so focused on his anger and vengeance all this time but suddenly became his good self again once he was hit with Khata dagger. Similar case to June story.

I know that many people defend Khatha, but for me, Khatha is a Big Traitor. Khatha betrayed Chan in the Past and He betrays Chan in this Era. Chan and Khatha could've lived Happy together. However Khatha is too Weak and He doesn't appreciate Chan's LOVE. At the end, he chose Dome's LOVE than Chan's LOVE. And, in another hand, this shows what I've always said: Nanon's seems more Gun' Son than TayNew' Son. I've always thought that Chimon, Win and Nanon are like OffGun' Sons, and not Mix or none others.
