Tip? Attach the stabilizing bars with the entire thing to that point with loose fitting fasteners that are involved with this connection I.E. the main column to base to ensure easy adjustment then tighten fasteners. Tightening the main columns before these are installed makes it difficult to install the stabilizers... Install the Stabilizers while the Main column's fasteners to the base are bit loosened and under tension(Raised up by lift or 3 guys in to Weight lifting) then torque to spec... Just sayin'
I watched the install. I see you already have a hoist to lift the gantry up? What kind of hoist is up there? Also do you need a hoist to lift it? Can you build it standing up?
It’s a harbor freight 1 ton chain hoist that I had attached to the rafters. Yes the best way to build it imo is the way I did it. You will need a hoist or a cherry picker would also work. Im sure u can put it together other ways but if you’re doing it your self this is the easiest and safest.
Jacob's Farm Life ok thanks. I would actually prefer to set up a chain hoist like you have in my rafters in my garage instead of buying this gantry. Any way you can show me how you have the chain lift attached to your rafters?
Don’t have any pictures. But I just put a 4 by 4 between two rafters and looped a chain around it and hooked it to my chain hoist. Depending on the size of your rafters is going to determine how much weight you can lift. So depending on what you are trying to do and how much weight you want to lift you will want to figure that out first
I need 1 not that bad .. if it’s a 1 ton don’t trust it with your life .. I’m waiting for a set up used for sale.. found 1 a nice clean 2 ton was a bit short on the cash . Best of luck
@@JacobsFarmLife would of been a aid in assembly if they had of slotted the holes in ALL locations, and that would of taken care of ANY variations in the manufactured parts & aided assembly

How did you get this to your shop? I'm trying to decide if a pick up woth a 6.5ft bed is big enough.
Picked it up with a truck with 8 foot bed. I’m sure a 6.5 will work. Maybe with tailgate down

Why drill? I set mine up and just loosened the bolts to where the cross beam is and it went in.
