People hate on this reveal a lot. Honestly, it's actually pretty emotionally powerful. In an online world, where anyone can look the way they want and where a lot of people share similar voices, there was no real way for Suguha to know Kirito was her brother because he never discussed his SAO experience with her. And I mean, look at Suguha's avatar, Leafa! They look nothing alike. It's a fairly realistic take on the whole, "you don't really know anyone on the internet unless you've met face to face". Suguha was always conflicted about her love for Kazuto because technically he wasn't her real brother, so a part of her felt like it was justified. But the part that felt it was wrong overruled it and that's what caused her to become so conflicted. She felt romantically confused about what she should feel for him after having no social interaction with him for two years. Two years, he was trapped in another world, asleep and disconnected from reality. So she found his sudden transition into caring for her to be somewhat jarring. She planned to fall in love with someone else so she could forget her 'wrong' feelings towards him. In a way, she was using the virtual world to 'escape' as well. And in the end, isn't that why a lot of us play video games in the first place?
Brian and Stephanie, PLEASE react to Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest! Its a super fun anime and while the cg bits get flak a lot, its a really fun anime to watch!

When she was talking to Kirito saying that he was distancing himself from her, because he knew she wasn't her real sister. She was wrong, I think in like episode 6 or when Kirito was with Silica, he admitted the real reason. He had quit kendo and the reason he was avoiding her, is because he thought she hated him. Since she had to work harder at Kendo and couldn't do what she truly wanted.
Think about the whole story. He learned they weren't siblings, he quit kendo, Sugu promised to work hard in his place. It wasn't until she started working harder that he grew to wonder if she resented him. He still quit kendo because they weren't siblings. (also it was episode 4)
I'd like to add something to the whole "Cousins can be together in japan" thing, because yes, relationships between first cousins are accepted in Japan, but relationships between adopted siblings are not. THIS is why Suguha tried to get over her crush on Kazuto by falling in love with Kirito, who IS Kazuto.
And the award for a "chilling" VA performance goes to Leafa !! No matter what your stance is on 1st cousin love... you have to admit it was a bit heart wrenching...
I was wondering before why Kirito 1st spawned in the forest where Leafa was , Yui saying something about Ip address then I searched it before and that explains things, it bugged his location since Sugu was playing at the same time so instead of Going at his hometown, he was warped to Leafa
You dont feel pain unless the pain absorber deactivated at certain levels you get wound, you get to feel the numbness. This is the first concept of pain absorber introduced in the whole series/arcs of SAO also what makes the ALO a big shot game after SAO during the time

Ifol bri. I already explained it at the old episodes. They can feel the pain. But about 70% lower than the real thing. Like the real pain humans in real life can feel is 100% but in this game. There is a limiter that limits the pain to 30%
They don’t physically feel the pain, however you find out in the 24th episode about how the pain scale in this game is set from 0-10. Sugou (glasses guy) changes it to try and torture Kirito. It basically sends signals to the brain similar to how you would feel pain, but you aren’t actually in pain
It's called Pain Absorber for what I remember. There's a percentage for how many pain does the system will absorb which is 0% is the most painful and 100% has no pain. It is editable by Game Admins.

However I think that most likely when the lightnovel will end, the ending will be changed

Honestly y’all need to watch Something Witty Entertainment’s rewriting of this section of Sword art sure it’s silly and stuff but episode 17 of the abridged I feel like just makes this and several other episodes of SAO so much better. The writing done by SWE is just phenomenal arguably better than the entire original material. I’m saying this as a die hard fan of Sword Art Online 1,2,3 and war for the underworld. It’s so good I can’t wait to see what they do for GGO and Alicization because their writing is just that good.

The reason they feel pain in-game is because their nerve-gears is registering everything that the player feels into their brains. A stab, the brain says its pain. Not as much as in real life thanks to pain absorption, but it will still hurt.

In order for a child to be born retarted or sick, both parents must have the same gene and in addition damaged (so even the parent and his child can conceive a healthy offspring). But cousins have completely different sets of genes. So reproduction with cousins carries no greater risk than with a random person.
