    Fat Mike writes all of their music and deliberately uses weird time signatures to screw with your head, even mixing them mid song to take you off guard. He's one of the most underrated songwriters ever, in any genre.

    • @VonDoomZa
      @VonDoomZa ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are not wrong, but also not correct.. Dude.. if you listen to the last 10 years (or even fucking 15) of NOFX. You will hear Mike in most of them (there i agree with you)... Fuck..El Hefe came from a 'metal' genre.. He brought that 'rock/metal' riffs back! Just like Steve Kidwiler did on the album Ribbed and before that.. Do you think Mike wrote Tripple Rock? haha
      Mike WAS one of the most underrated songwriters ever...That's my opinion. He cant even fucking write a normal 'Fuck you' punk song anymore... I WILL forever love NOFX, but the older albums had way more power in them.. :)

    Their timing is on another level. It’s like all the talented musicians you know started a band. Everyone is really good at what they do. Half their stuff is joking and half of it is really deep. This one is kind of in between. I would recommend “March to the beat of indifferent drum” or “The idiots are taking over.”

  • @joefrank5274
    @joefrank5274 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Linewleum is another version Fat Mike (Vocalist/Bassist) came up with about how the song is their most popular and covered. Gates from A7X plays on it. Both are killer tracks. Great reaction brother!

    I was a 15 year old Brazilian boy when I heard this song for the first time. It spoke to my feelings. A few years later I had the opportunity to be in the front row at one of their shows and touch his hand. It was a magical moment. Punkrock never dies.

    It's very hard to do it better than NOFX. Been into these idiots since high school and I'm 35 now. The instrumentation is great, the lyrics are either silly or incredibly thought-provoking, and the general vibe is just high-energy fun. I can slam a beer or 6 to this.

  • @SLOPPYJOESCOVERS
    @SLOPPYJOESCOVERS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    always loved the tone on all nofx stuff, erik melvin plays a les paul, el hefe plays a tele, fat mike plays danelectro basses and p basses, its a winning combo for punk in my opinion.
    really love the channel!

    NOFX The Decline yeah for sure 20minute punkrock operarock.
    and for punkrock with metal riffs you gotta do Propagandhi - Back to the Motor League, or any one of the recent albums.

  • @prod.byzaha954
    @prod.byzaha954 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    its funnny that this is considered one of their most popular tracks even though theres no "conventional" song structure (verse, pre-chorus , chorus etc.)

    • @TheGreen8astard
      @TheGreen8astard 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      75% of NOFX songs don’t have chorus’s.
      It’s one of the reason they’re such a great band.

    When you said “Some members of A7X were in NOFX” in a previous reaction, I was like, what?! Who told him this? 😂 buuuuut NOFX recently did a re-recording / parody of this song WITH A7X called “Lenewleum”; so there is a kernel of truth if you wanna check out that vid. The music video is pretty funny

    (Context) the album was maybe the last NOFX album released on epitaph records, everything released by NOFX now is through Fat Wreckords which is owned but Fat Mike and his ex wife Erin. It’s a banger of a track.

    Hey man, just discovered your channel. I've been binging it all day. Skipping thru to songs/artists I like first of course. But I am going backwards from newest to oldest. I'm actually on DMX it's dark and hell is hot. I love the way you talk about the tracks (all of them not just this album). You and I seem to be very like minded. I'm a metal head myself. Slayer being my all time favorite band. But I just love good music, preferably with good messages. Politically, from what I have heard and have picked up on we are very similar. I know you said you're libertarian... But you're not like most libertarians I've encountered. But politics is for a different time, in a different place. But I just wanted to touch on that. I totally dig your style in every way, so far. No one will ever agree 100% on anything of course. But you're straight up, honest and down AF. So after the holidays here I'm gonna hit up your Patreon. So I can check out the extra content. Just wanted to thank you as well. I appreciate decent humans. Non racist, honest, intelligent, and have a way of explaining things that I admire, and am jealous of. Lol. I can't put my thoughts/feelings into words for sh*t. But anyway, enough babbling, ultimately, thank you, I appreciate you, and I am glad I found your channel today. I'll try checking out your other content as well. Take care my friend. Thanks.

    No country for Old Me - by Logic
    Tree House - by Logic
    I promise you will get like 500+ views easily. You will literally by the only reaction channel that has reviewed/reacted to this songs. Promise bro. When he actually releases the album for those songs, you will already have 10x more views thus making your vid pop up on TH-cam.
