As a newbie sewist, thanks for explaining and demonstrating how to apply the clear elastic and also showing how it can be used on sewing machine and serger.
Thank you for teaching us how to sew the clear elastic go the seams. I never tried that before because I thought the elastic couldn't be cut by the serger and I see that yours didn't get cut but even if it did on mi garment I think it still would work fine. By the way, I subscribed to your channel!!
Thank you for the video. Question: Do you add the elastic to the bodice and the skirt, or just one or the other. Doesn't the bodice elastic get cut by the serger blade?
Thank you for this video! I've been making knit dresses for my girls and really want them as well as I can. This extra reinforcement seems like just the thing.
Which pattern is the hoodie you are wearing In this video? I love the pattern and the fabric. Where do you purchase most of your knits from? I am a quilter, but your tutorials have inspired me to branch out. Thank you!
I don't have any clear elastic. I do have some of the KNIT iron on stay tape. Will that work to stabilize shoulder seams and also the gathered edges of the Staycation dress? thanks!
Great tutorial! What kind of clear elastic do you like best and where can we get it. Also, do you have a tutorial on how to make your "scrappy sweatshirt"? It is adorable and looks so nice on you.
This is very helpful! Idk why this elastic is so confusing. I have put it in a couple of garments and I ended up cutting it out because I didn't like the wavy bulk taking the place of the regular flow of the fabric. Maybe I didn't do it correctly.
Fantastic demonstration. If you could please make a video showing ways to trace a pattern which keeps all the options eg, sleeveless/sleeve, different lengths etc Thanks so much
is diana using maxi lock stretch in lower looper of serger? I'm asking because when i did the combination of adding elastic plus regular maxi lock serger thread, the seams felt itchy to me when wearing a dress i made
I do usually use maxi lock stretch thread on my loopers when sew knit. I don't do this ALL the time but I do prefer it and it does feel a lot softer when used.
I've seen many sewing videos but never have I seen one that use the elastic the way you did. Great tutorial!
