If you’re not on a tight budget, get the Licensed to Chill package. 100% worth it. Gives you massages, breakfast at Fins, dinner at the steakhouse, express check in, Wi-Fi, champagne, bathrobes.. a more upgraded experience!
I just got back from my cruise yesterday! I took my mom for her birthday. It was amazing. We got the license to chill package but I believe the one you got was the more expensive one which includes dinner at the steakhouse. The one we got did not include breakfast or dinner at the steak house as that was extra. I got the one with the wifi package, VIP seating and express check-in. It was still great because we got to sit front row for all the shows we went to at the theater. The only hiccup we had was the thermostat in our room was broken. They tried to play it off by telling us it just takes a while for it to kick in but the thermostat button was missing. Eventually they changed our room and we could feel the difference when we walked into the new room. The other thing is they charged us $60 each when we got on the ship for a fuel and service charge that was never explained to me when I called ahead days before the cruise to make sure I did not owe them anything. Other than that the cruise itself was great. I enjoyed it a lot and I love that it was short and not too long and since the boat is just the right size there isn't too much going on.
Thank you for a very informative review. So many negative reviews have been posted that it discouraged us from booking. After watching the review I will definitely book this cruise.
My wife and I just got back from this cruise the other day. We had a blast!!! It is a lot of fun if you are fun people. If you are the type that likes to stare at wallpaper in your stateroom, you will be miserable on any cruise.
Awesome video. I'm so glad u shared the fabulous tip on the drink package and the "strong Island" tea (WooHoo)! Hubby and I r booked and trying to decide on an excursion or to stay onboard and chill at the pool/bar and/or get a massage at the spa while in port. Decisions we will prly make the day of. Thanks for sharing ur experience.
We did the Margaritaville at Sea cruise in early January 2023. We had never been on a cruise before and since I am a veteran, we were able to book the cruise for half-price. While Josh & Taylor's review was fairly accurate, we found the constant upselling of everything on the ship to be rather annoying. We started the cruise by paying extra for an outside cabin so we could have a window to look out of. I can't imagine the claustrophobia from being stuck in an inside cabin. Then, we were surprised to find that the extras we were asked to pay for while on the cruise added up to nearly $700 for the two-nights. Everything is charged to your room key and you don't get a receipt, so it's difficult to keep track of your spending. Two "blender drinks" were $53. The excellent meal in the JWB Steakhouse was more than $50 per person over and above the "all inclusive" food service on board the ship. The extra cost "island tour" on Grand Bahama was rather disappointing and the beachfront hotel where the tour ended wanted $10 per person for a hot dog lunch. I really wanted to get a souvenir T-shirt to remember our cruise, but the only men's shirts in the on-board gift shop were either size small or 3XL. Absolutely nothing in between.
Just got back my biggest complaint were the charges for everything as well. Sorry that was your first cruise experience. Too expensive for what you get
We went back in January and had a decent time. We had seen a lot of bad reviews, so we went with low expectations so we had a pretty good time. This cruise definitely isn't for everyone.
😂 great review, this is my first visit to your channel, Josh and Taylor just seem like normal people, so this is one of my favorite reviews. Thanks for the video, please keep them coming.
I enjoy watching cruise videos. My wife and I started cruising when "cruising was for old people." It's great to see folks like yourself cruising and making cruise videos. BTW, you sound a little like Hank Hill when you're behind the camera. 😄
Loved every minute of your videos. Love your fun personalities. We travel the world. Just bought a house in West Palm and wanted to do this for NYE for hubbys bdsy. Our best vacations come from low expectations. You guys gotta go to Portugal
You two look like you had fun 😀 my wife is trying to get me in a cruise for our anniversary and so far the first where to up tight for the kinda guy I am ,but this looked laid back and fun . Thanks for the review
My husband is a Veteran, and was offered this cruise for free!! Unfortunately, we were unable to go, but it was fun to see what it was. Thanks for sharing your cruise with us. Nice upgrade 😊xo Theresa
THANK YOU....THANK YOU.....THANK YOU!!!!! Wonderful information without comparing this ship and this trip to every other multi BILLION dollar money pit cruise line/ cruise ship in the world. I am a Jimmy Buffet fan since birth and this video has sped up my calendar for getting on this cruise. I have been on a few of the other cruise lines and they are great in their own right. I have not gone on any of the newest MEGA ships that have been launched in the last three or four years. I can shop at the mall downtown if I get that itch. Gotta go check out your site!! Thanks again
Thanks for this review. I have never been on a cruise before and everyone tells me to try going that it's not bad so this will be my first in a few weeks for my bday weekendhad to changebday planslady min. And i was getting discouraged by the negative reviews but it doesn't seem so bad after hearing you guys.
By comparison, it is at the bottom of cruise ships, but that really because of its age. This ship was still kept up well while we were on board. It also in our opinion is a good intro cruise to see if you can handle being at ocean. The overall experience as far as service, food and activities, was definitely a “you get what you pay for” but we are still planning to actually go back on board later this summer with friends.
I'm sailing in May on the "Heroes Sail Free" program--just paid port fees. Thanks for the video! Also since I'm not a drinker, I think my biggest expense will be what to do for the day in Freeport..
Do your research... the excursions are pretty pricey, but you also have the option of hiring a cab driver to take you around. Several of us considered doing cheaper tours with groups not affiliated with the cruise, but we were scared we wouldn't get back in time. In the end, to save money, we took a group taxi to the marketplace ($14/person round-trip) and walked to a beach around the corner. The taxi also offered to drop us off at a beach (im assuming it was a better beach), but the one we walked to had hardly anyone on it (just other cruisers walking to it from the marketplace) and still had our crystal clear water.
I thought these were the old Carnival ships? We did this cruise a few years back, had a great time! This time we're going to do the stay on the island bit and take the ship back.
The price is great but the shower and lack of balcony are a nope for me. But really interesting to learn about it. Seems like a great option for some. Thanks for taking us along!
Hello. We have cruised with Msc, Royal and Carnival. We have to fly 11 hours from Sweden but it is absolutely worth it. What pisses me off every time we get home is when I read other people's reviews from the same cruise we were on. Were we really on the same ship? We have always been treated so incredibly well on board. I have also read and seen lots of recent reviews regarding Margaretaville and often it is about outdoing each other to leave such bad recent reviews. Therefore, it was very fun and nice to hear your opinion. You are like that if you were Swedes ( haha ) You get a trip to the Bahamas including cabin and food for 100 dollars. Then you can hardly count on getting an Oasis Of The Seas experience. Will definitely continue to follow you. Thank you for sharing/ Adam & Camilla from Stockholm
Yup we’re doing it. My step daughter and her hubby did the buy 2 night get 2 nights free promo. They did the first 2 nights in the spring and we’re joining them for their 2 free nights in February. I’m a huge Jimmy Buffet fan, and have never cruised. Heading to WDW for 6 days after the cruise
Thank you for an honest and open review. My girlfriend and I are going next month as part of the hero sails free offer they are doing. I watched another cruise vlogger just bash everything and says it was horrible. It started to get me worried. This will b the first cruise we are going on
Hi, I enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing your cruise experience with us. I have a question. How did you get the cruise for $75? That's a great price! Did you see many children on the ship? I'm thinking about taking my 11 year old daughter.
We’re going next week but staying the the Bahamas for a couple days. I want drinks but if we can only get them by buying the drink package I’ll just fill up a flask LOL
We were thinking about doing this cruise but ended up going to Vegas instead. The reason was all the bad reviews, there are so many. But the reviews do say the food was great. We are still thinking about doing the cruise at a later date just to hang out. I think because of the name they think it was going to be a big party boat. :)
Port Everglades is Ft Lauderdale, this ship sails from Port of Palm Beach. As far as industrial ports, that's the way it works at least all the Florida ports
We went on this a couple days ago, and what we did different is just pay for drinks individually and we (our group plus others from the boat) made our own excursion by making a deal with one of the waiting taxi drivers to give us a personal island tour for 30/person which had some fun stops including shopping and a distillery and it ended at a beach park, where we were given full access to everything there and then we got a prompt ride back timed so that we wouldn't miss the boat. Definitely saved money over the excursion to do the same things. While the boat was dated I still enjoyed being on it, but my next cruise I will insist on a way better pool deck. We did the Fins Dining and the buffet, and I found the food to be OK overall but the breakfast meh. The only thing we did extra $ for food was the pizzeria and the gelato at the coffee stand, and both were fantastic.
Real long Islands are all the white rail liquor: rum, vodka, gin, tequila with a splash of triple sec and a splash of lemon lime. However most bars where I worked we splashed diet coke. Some places splash lemon lime drink. And one bar I worked at had Dr. Pepper in the gun so I splashed that. So it's true, every LIIT probably tastes different.
"$75.00 per person." Plus the port fees, taxes, and gratuities which cost me more than the cruise itself. Oh and I forgot the hidden fuel charge, and service fee that they charged me while I was on the ship and failed to tell me about when I called ahead of time to make sure I did not have anything pending to pay. It was $60.00 per person. Also travel expenses. That being said, I asked my mom what she wanted for her birthday and she said she wanted to go on a cruise. I have been on Carnival cruises and because those ships are so big it is very easy to get lost and there tends to be way too much going on and there is a lot more people on board. If you are looking for the perfect getaway where you just need a short trip to get away and refresh yourself than this is the cruise for you. We got to go swimming with the pigs and it was such a beautiful experience for us both and I am in love with the Bahamas. Despite the fees being more than the cruise itself I can totally see myself going on this cruise at some point in the future. Thank you for sharing this video!
I don't think I've ever had a real long island on a cruise! I've seen everything from whiskey and Coke to using a mystery mix of clear liquor with lime juice.
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor ok, so that must be 175 you pay when you pay for the cruise? We’re going on Tue, and I was reading the port and gratuity costs are not included when we pay🤷🏻♀️ but thanks for letting me know ❤️
It is family friendly, but honestly there isn't as much entertainment aimed at kids for me to consider bringing my own child along, but there were still a number of families on my cruise who seemed to enjoy it overall.
So I’m looking at one of these cruises right now and I don’t really understand the drink package thing. I watched your section on it but I’m still confused. So their description says “with this “unlimited” package, save 25% on 10 alcoholic drinks” so are you just getting 25% off 10 drinks or is it unlimited? I can’t tell if they’re saying you have to pay for your drinks or the package saves you 25%
So as an accountant I'm thinking, what do these drinks normally cost at menu price? Because basically they are $17 per drink after all the upgrades on your $99 package. On just a normal cruise on Carnival I think that's like the top end of prices so I'm wondering how much you're supposedly "saving" by going this direction? Was there a menu price?

I never considered Jimmy Buffets music country. It’s more island, vacation, flip flop and slow livin music, lol.
It’s “country” to people who think any music without vocals is “jazz.”
Yes! Thank you, I’ve been trying to convince my family for years that he is not country.
He's definitely not county lol maybe folk music
Jimmy started out playing country then developed into his own! Miss him

Is there any time to enjoy the beach at the pig feeding tour? The water looks crystaline and for the kids to enjoy.
Plenty of time!
That is the port of palm beach and the island is called Pina Island. That's where the John f. Kennedy bunker is
Actually it's Peanut Island. Great snorkeling on the East side.
Will you try their newest ship?
💯 absolutely!
Do they have an unlimited drink, like beer and wine?? Some don’t drink mixed drinks.
I don't think I've ever had a real long island on a cruise! I've seen everything from whiskey and Coke to using a mystery mix of clear liquor with lime juice.

We currently have two group cruises in the works! www.thewdwcouple.com/group-trips
Is there any other offerings or things to do on the beach besides the pigs and enjoying the water?
Not at this location. But the cruise line did offer other excursions.
How much are alcoholic beverages without the package? Beer? Etc...
January 31, looking forward to quite trip.
So just to get this right on the drink package. The blender package for $119 includes 6 drinks, and after that each refill is only $5?
Great review! I don't think I'm the target audience for this cruiseline but it sounds like it will be for someone.
Hi! there, my husband and I booked for April at Margaritaville. What excursion do you recommend? Thank you
What documentation do you need as a US citizen? Just a Driver License? Or do you need your birth certificate as well?
You’ll need at least a DL and a Birth Certificate
His name is James William Buffett!!
You said the steak was included for you? How so?
Question? Did you have time to go or do something else after your pigs excursion?
There was time to enjoy the beach before and after. There was not continuous bus back and forth. Once your there. Your there till they take ya back.
Is there wifi available on this ship?
Oh long islands now your talking! Josh will be sleeping, with the strong island🤣😂
Did you have to make reservations for JWB?
Looks Great! But HOW can they do it for only $99 per person?!
They also charge $175 in taxes and I believe there’s fees you have to pay when you get on the ship as well, so it definitely adds up fast.
There are no hidden fees. Every cruise line charges taxes and PORT fees. They make money but up selling their drink packages.
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor ok, so that must be 175 you pay when you pay for the cruise? We’re going on Tue, and I was reading the port and gratuity costs are not included when we pay🤷🏻♀️ but thanks for letting me know ❤️
Your ship has covid light fixtures in the restaurant.
Three drinks into the wind & the ship hasn’t even departed yet. Lmao
Was this an adult only cruise?
It is family friendly, but honestly there isn't as much entertainment aimed at kids for me to consider bringing my own child along, but there were still a number of families on my cruise who seemed to enjoy it overall.
So I’m looking at one of these cruises right now and I don’t really understand the drink package thing. I watched your section on it but I’m still confused. So their description says “with this “unlimited” package, save 25% on 10 alcoholic drinks” so are you just getting 25% off 10 drinks or is it unlimited? I can’t tell if they’re saying you have to pay for your drinks or the package saves you 25%
Decnet cruise for what it is, buffet food was nasty tho
ive watched alot of videos on this cruise, id say the reason its not crowded is because all the bad reviews no body goes
We agree! It receives a lot of negative reviews, but it’s just one of those “you get what you pay for” situations.
Is the bus included in the excursion?
Yes the bus Transportation was part of the excursion
Going February 20 2023
I heard you get what you pay for and the water tastes horrible. They need a better filtration system.
Josh, how did you guys only pay $75 a person?! Great Video!
Well they have to make money somehow! LOL
Actually I'm thinking they come out to $9.94 if you buy the blender cup. 17 "regular" sized drinks for 169 dollars.
What month did you guys cruise?
August 2022
I do not see how you achieved $75 per person. Could you explain please?
