This is how you make your flatscreen take up as much space as your old style TV.
so much wasted space.
It makes it pop
It’s called making it a focal point, it’s also only protruding maybe 10 inches, so less depth than a lot of floating shelves. Last I remember my dads big ass tv was at least 24 inches deep so this takes up significantly less space.
It makes sense if they included a compartment for consoles
First thing that came to my mind LOL
People hating on everything anymore. Looks really good to be honest. Great framing and dry wall skills. Turned out nice!
Thanks 👍
😂😂❤
Cost saving exercise - no need for a bigger tv in the future😅
Honestly wtf are these haters on. That job is clean as hell and is now the focal point of the room. I think it looks amazing.
@@Nectarman some people have taste and others think anything looks good 🤷🏻♂️
Wife after he’s done…
“I think I want a bigger tv.”
Good ‘ol rgb lighting. Best way to make something cheap look cheaper
All that for the TV to be too high, the tilt of shame...
fr
And barely fits and looks weird.. all to lose 10sqft for literally nothing 😂
And don’t forget that it will crap out early when it overheats because there is no air flow
Same here that sht look wack. It take up space and costly to build.
You are far from knowing what aesthetics and luxury are if you don't ask Arabs who are millionaires and love these types of jobs.
If I bought that house I would tear that shit down ahaha
Guess what ? He wasn’t doing it for you or the next homeowner , he was doing it for himself. When you repaint for instance, are YOU doing it for YOU or the next person to buy your house. Think about that. 🙄

For those saying you can't do this for £200, I have done the maths:
12 CSL batons - 3.50 each = £42
3 Plaster boards - 11.90 each = £35.70
100 pack screws = £14.50
2.5L paint = £15
9in Roller and tray = £5.25
2in Paint brush = £4
Trimming knife = £3
Hand saw = £6
Electric drill/driver £34
Spirit level = £7.50
Wall plugs = £3
5kg pre-mixed laster skim = £15
Joint tape = £11
Total = £195.95
Prices are retail from the Wickes website today. I have also included tools even though the idea you would attempt this and not own any tools already is mental.
where can get those slaves who work for free? i have 220 gbp
😂😂😂 forgot the hammer he is using. He’s using a battery drill. Joint compound spreader tool Well over 200. Could’ve bought a flat screen wall mount and made a floating self for a lot cheaper. And less time consuming 😂😂😂
@@dezbigguns1072 I did forget the hammer and spreader! But they are £5 and £7.30 respectively so it does go slightly over £200. That price is actually for a battery powered drill.
That drill he’s using is over 200 dollars alone.
I have that exact driver. I got it second hand but it’s £199 in store.
As an av engineer, i would holesaw a few holes in that top board above the tv towards the back, you'd never see them, and you'd probably lengthen the service life of the screen.
How? Ventilation?
People like that will want a new screen as soon as something gets added to it.
It's designed to fail in six anyway
That is a really really nice unit. You be proud of what you did and you saved your TV but I agree with the guy about drilling a few holes at the top of the unit on the screen life
Or just hang the tv into wall .
Or get rid of the TV
Or get rid of the TV

This is very easy and i have been doing this kind of work for years however, projects like this should have a space for 85" tv but i get it some rooms not that big.
What about if i get a bigger tv?? Should I demolish all?
No. keep it for spare.
Exactly why I would never hang a TV, get one on wheels for the off chance you need a screen for gaming or TH-cam and have a projector instead
@@handleisGGthat’s a serial killer comment .
I have never seen someone with a living room tv on wheels .
@handleisGG you wheel your TV out the room to choke your chicken don't you 😂😂 pervert
@kelvinfannon8416 its called a sero, or a stand by me LG, save the wall for a projector screen and avoid having a black abyss in the middle of your livingroom, thats GEN Z idea its clean its neat and it looks better than a portal to oblivion whenever the TV is off , or worse, making a media wall with the worlds smallest telly 🥴
Никогда не собирайте гипсокартон на деревянный каркас, какие бы бруски не были хорошими уведёт со временем вместе с гипсом, для этого и изобрели металлические профиля для гипсокартона.
Drywall onto wooden studs is used in the majority of residential construction in the US. might be different in Russia
Я тоже так подумал! зачем брус, если давно придуман профиль😄
С профилем легче работать.
Брус дешевле. В сухом помещении ничего никуда никогда не уаедет
Love watching someone who knows what their doing - great job ❤😎🇦🇺

Awesome 👍 work. I sure wish my husband would get busy 😅
He does a lot, but doesn't see my vision very clearly. ❤
Definitely read the manufacturers Installation instructions some suggest a minimum clearance above the tv unit. Ventilation restrictions can cause issue's. Great video but thought it's worth mentioning
People now are more on their small screens. TVs are just for show or the occasional movie.
It's only less than £200 if he's installing in his home. That'll be at least £1000 for the rest of us
More like 2.5k
Nah not 1000 but not 200, 200 for labour 200 for materials. That's gbp not dollars aswel
Where I live, only wooden construction would cost 200+$
Sheetrock
that looks nice keep up the good work guys
There’s always gonna be lazy people who won’t even leave their couch for food hating on projects people are confident enough to post online, but keep up the great work bro. 🔥
No hate, just showing that this is a bad idea. The room is probably 10x8. They’ll be barely enough room to walk thru once you add a couch.
Fair play mate. You tried. Then it starts.
Gente temos que agradecer a dica....
Deixam de ser ignorantes.

As always perfect.
Thank you for sharing the idea🙏
We appreciate your support. Hope you have a lovely day.
Electrical? All i see is a wire hanging in the corner. Good idea though
He made that look so easy
All looks well done. I think I'd have a hard time consuming that much space for that. I'd be thinking about how to put hidden storage in there.
Looks good! Amazing work man!
Gosh - all the mean, condescending comments. Geezzz - just say not your liking or jam. Stop the negativity.
This was great, but you should have extended it above the mid trim with shelves all the way to the walls! Would've looked sicker.
I just bought a tv stand and screwed it on the wall... cost less AND it didnt reduce the square footage of my living room. Amazing tech these days...
My grandma would love this.
Iv built houses with similar pop outs like this with 2x4 or something bigger. Whats that your using 1x2 ? Nice way to cut the cost and utilize the space.
Americans love TV so much they will give their TVs their own shelter
In my head I can do it this fast. 3 months later still looking at empty wall space thinking it would be done by now..😂
Yes sir ! Quality craftsmanship ! 😊
Thanks 👍
That would take me about a week w/at least 5 trips back to store
If this was slowed down the slightest bit, this woulda been such a satisfying video lol. Instead im dizzy. Project was cool tho
imagine if you want to upgrade to bigger TV
Where’s the ventilation to keep the electronics cool? Totally like the build but couldn’t help to think there’s no airflow.
🙌🏼✌🏼🤟🏼
Very good skills good job 👏🏼 and I
Which fixings did you use to fix the timber to the solid wall?
this is done exclusively for RGB illumination. there is a reverse technology when a niche for a TV is made in the wall. There is one weak point in such solutions - heat distribution, because the back panel of the LCD TV gets very hot, and this heat needs to be diverted somewhere. The weakest point of all LCD TVs is the overheating of one of the backlight LEDs due to poor heat dissipation. Therefore, in order to ensure a long service life of the LCD TV, attention must be paid to heat dissipation in general. all kinds of blind niches only exacerbate the accumulation of heat behind the TV. therefore, from the point of view of aesthetics, this kind of false box is a matter of taste for the owner, but from a technical point of view it is not the best solution due to the lack of thermal dissipation.
The labor cost alone if you had a contractor do that would be 500 if not more...
You did a nice job. All that work deserves a bigger screen.
Love you guys. Pure genius
felisidades maestro bonito mueble
Better and cleaner and quicker in mdf
No chance
And more expensive
You’d think you’d rough in all the electric and cabling first.
I hate the way some European Countries dont replaster plasterboard. Instead they just paint it. Its just SO WEAK without a final skim of plaster with edge bead
PLEASE, BUILD ME ONE, I LOVE IT.
Question from a rookie framer.. did he pre drill pilot holes before the screws, or is pre drilling not required here?
No one does that
If you have 2 drills so it won't take so much time to keep switching batteries you can. Otherwise might as well drive the screws in, you shouldn't get splittings
I hate these walls. It makes the TV too high for my personal preference. A lot of new or flipped houses have these nowadays. It makes you constrained to that height for your TV placement.
Que bonito, eres todo un artista quiero aprender ese trabajo sabes, desde honduras te escribo,es un sueño para mi aprender ese bello trabajo que haces,te mando un abrazo sincero.
What about quilted in bookcase on the each side of a fireplace ?😊😊
Nice thanks I am gonna build my own.
If you people dont like what they doing get off his channel. 90% of the people on here with the negative comments cany walk and chew bubble gum not eveybody wants a bigger tv. I wonder what size yall tv have.
Neighbour comes round screaming that he's on night shift and stop the noise. . . . . .
That's when he knew. . . he put the media centre on the wrong wall. . . .
Nothing wrong with it, but you didn’t need to bridge the studs on a wall that short.
We prefer to so there is more fixings on the plasterboard 😊
Unless you're using the space for shelving or sumn, thats a no for me.
It looks nice tho.
😮 AWESOME EDIT: I saw someone comment about how many haters are commenting and then read some. People...do you know you can give constructive criticism in a nice way? It doesn't have to be hateful...or...maybe, IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING NICE, DON'T SAY NOTHING AT ALL 🙄🤐
*_BEAUTIFUL!!_* 😎👍
Thank you very much! 👍🏻
When did you include the power sockets ,LED lights and HDMI cables .. oh yeah also the Ethernet cables 😂
I do not understand why you had to go thru all that trouble when all you had to do is mount the TV onto the wall??
It's just another way. Also they're showing us how to build something like that. If anything it's educational.
You just built a wall with a couple of shelves in it and removes space fro.your living room
It’s a feature wall 👍🏻
Great idea, but why wouldnt you protect your floor with some dust sheets? Scratches etc
This floor is also getting replaced so their was so need to protect it if you are not replacing your flooring then you should protect it 😊
This video makes me dizzy. No one could learn anything you just did by going that fast
I suggested something very similar to this to one of my clients in January. They smirked and dismissed the idea, three months later and i have fittedone and they are delighted.
😊
You made that shit look too easy, bro!!😅 excellent mentor
Thank you 👍🏻
Beautiful !
$200? I'm guessing you already had half the stuff needed. 😂 Looks great though!
It doesn't say $200 it says £200! this is the UK.

Wife: honey, I i think I want a 75 in tv instead, what do you think?
That’s awesome!
Love ❤️ this!!
Plaster?
I would skim it personally but it doesn't really need it
Nice to see the old school way of curring drywall around the frame. Great work🥃🥃
Bro, all that work and you made it big enough for a 50 inch tv...what the fack
Doesn't ADD to the space in my opinion, but 10/10 on craftsmanship
They spend massive sums on tvs and cabinets even frames, but they always complain about the price of subscription services. Then they just steal it using iptv
Cantik, rapi dan bagus untuk pemula.
Que bárbaros 👍👍👍👍puros maestros, bendiciones raza 🙏👍👍
And then you want a bigger tv
A lot more the 200 bucks lol. How much does your time cost you?
Me thinking about five years later 95in tv and have to destroy the heck out of this build 😂
Came out sick
Thanks so much 😊
Whys everyone hating, he done a solid job ✅
Good job.
Thanks! 👍🏻
And that’s how you make a 1min Short!!! 👏🏽
Thank you, hope you have a good day 😊
no wages then lad lol😂
Good work! 👍
Thank you! 👍
Obviously this is what he does for a living. Hire him for $200 and enjoy your day
They did there thang liked how the hung the board
Massive wall, small TV 😂 Great skills though
all that for the smallish tv to look recessed instead of just hanging on the wall?... i don't get it
seems like it was more just for something to do as opposed to serving a purpose
-How much space do you want to waste?
-Yes
All that cost for a tv? Lol
Waste of space tbh. It does look like it was made really well. Nice framing and finishing
The hate on comments, holy crap. You build to your liking or your design. The guy just showed how to do something on a budget.
Es un excelente trabajo uso madera en vez de los perfiles metálicos además cambio total en la decoración de un espacio
I mean... You did a great job, but you ended up with less space in your house right?
Holy shit! Thank you for this!
😊
Looks so nice
