I managed to read about 6 volumes of the series at the time and I can say that this opening fits with the series, especially the first half of what I read. Sakamoto Days is a 24/7 supermarket slice of life and comedy with elements of Shonen and John Wick. Apparently, according to a friend, the last arc so far is being crazy. 🔥
That's pretty much how the series started out. Roughly around chapter 50-70 it started to become more of an action focused series, though still with lots of comedy interwoven in it. This number of chapters is also where the author really found their stride around drawing action sequences, turning the series into THE prime example of well-drawn action in the entirety of Weekly Shounen Jump. The fight choreography in the manga looks stellar, is fluid, yet still easy to follow. Many other heavy-hitters, such as JJK and One Piece, often make it really difficult to understand what's actually going on during fights, with some authors even saying that they started trying to improve upon this after having been inspired by Sakamoto Days. As it stands, I think the first season will look appropriate to the early parts of the manga. Would I have wanted a better looking season 1? Absolutely. Aside from Red Cat Ramen, what was shown so far is one of the worst looking first seasons of a Shounen Jump adaptation in recent years - still better than various types of Isekai slop, but a huge disappointment when the fans are so used to the last few years of the manga being action greatness.
''Visuals are bad'' this is the opening bro Blue Lock Season 2 Opening animation/song was peak but the anime quality was terrible the opening doesnt mean anything 😭
Tms Entertainment, the studio behind Detective Conan, Fruits Basket (2019), and Dr. Stone, is set to handle the animation production for Sakamoto Days anime. Masaki Watanabe will serve as the director, with Taku Kishimoto in charge of series composition, and Yo Moriyama will handle the character designs.
Everything looks beautiful and the movements are okay. BUT this series is known for and built upon over the top actions. Crazy fighting and fluid motions . It’s like the one punch man manga where the manga panels are animated ( you can just stick the panels upon each other to make a mediocre anime) . So mid actions will be a huge disappointment 😥😢 The real complain is that the trailers and op hasn’t shown any notable actions. When your show has crazy fights u show that in trailers ( eg solo levelling)
In complete fairness, the real high-quality fights and action sequences only started appearing in the manga around chapter 50-70 onwards. It was still good before that, but not stellar - which was part of the reason that the series was actually badly placed in the rankings up until that point. Effectively it went from a slice of life comedy with action elements in the first 40-50 chapters, to what from at least chapter 100 onwards was action greatness with comedic elements interwoven. It still seems like the anime adaptation might be a downgrade from the respective source chapters, but there is a miniscule chance that it could get better for future seasons. That being said, I really enjoyed Red Cat Ramen and the anime for that series was close to bottom tier in terms of animation quality - yet it was renewed for a second season. Here's to hoping that Sakamoto Days gets another chance later on aswell.
You cant even understand how sad seeing this makes me dude. I actually had hope after the first 2 trailers came out, but that newest third trailer killed me inside while watching it. I was so excited when i saw this op in my feed and halfway through watching it I was just saying "its over" in my head the whole time. If you havent read the manga, you wouldn't understand, but the fights even rival and surpass shit like JJK. They're genuinely so insane. For a manga with "the next big thing" potential like that getting the TMS treatment with this mediocre ass adaptation that isnt going to take it anywhere, its so disappointing. While Dandadan and Elusive Samurai and getting incredible adaptations, the one with the most potential when it comes to sales will be forgotten as an average battle shonen after this season is over. Im not even saying it's bad, but if it was gonna be this average Sakadays is better off not being adapted at all honestly. Not everything can be JJK with the kind of staff that show has, but this shit looks like it wont even be on par with Mashle or something like opm S2. What a fumble by Shueisha.
Looks like an opening from a slice of life show or cgdct (cute girsl doing cute things) I don't know what I should expect. In the trailer they show alot of action, and the opening is more slice of life show?
I love the song but the visuals are meh
yep the action is so meh
@@aripacheco824haven't watched the trailers but apparently they barely showed the action scenes?? The anime is cooked
@@chiizuu752 yes i saw the trailer and what they showed at least looks very mid
Manga is action packed
Y'all New Anime Fans are SO spoiled. Not everything has to be MAPPA and UFOTABLE Quality.

Sad that Vaundy was wasted on such a disappointing opening visually. The song is so good.

honestly, with the goofy looking animations and with the song it just looks like fan made 80s anime or some shit.
As a manga reader my disappointment is immeasurable, this anime is really gonna flop, the manga is so goated tho 😂
Personally it gives me 2010 anime, and i really like it. Never read the manga tho, but anime doesn't have to be ds/jjk standard to be good
Bro I have not read it but why is that the case if you can tell because i have no context for that that's why I thought I should ask to get educated
could you tell me why you think it might flop in the anime adaption?
It's not even out yet tf are you yapping about

Tbf the first couple arcs are slice-of-life like. We can only hope that the backlash causes them to get good for future seasons
Well, half of the first arc is about slice of life
Maybe because the first arc is slice of life mixed with assassin elements.
