This song and alot of Sia's songs to me are about my connective tissue disorder, Ehlers Danlos syndrome. It's literal water torture in invisible illness form. The struggles one lives trying to push through what is thrown just to move your body is what I hear. I am 32 yrs old and have a diagnosis of hEDS but most likely due to process of elimination I suspect cEDS. Sia opening her mouth to sing such beauty causes insurmountable pain. Each and every person with a form of EDS has a specific passion that they flourish in and they fight every day to just be able to do what they love and worked very hard for. Mine is my healthcare career in which I spent 12 yrs building as a homecare CNA specializing in end of life care. No less than 3 yrs ago I was working fulltime high fast paced cares. Current status is 3 hrs a day 3 days a week making sure a day in between to recover from pushing my body on work days. Connective tissue disorders need to be further researched and learned about. Judgments of invisible illness could also be a reason for mystery and wanting privacy. Also big outfits cover up joint tape or a brace that could be holding everything together. 💯❤🔥 relatable. Love that I can feel better in her sounds.
