  • WHAT IS A CLOCK SPRING AND HOW IT WORKS
    In this video we will explain how clock spring works and what it does. Almost every vehicle equipped with airbag or steering wheel controls will need clock spring to connect the wires from the steering wheel with the wire on the steering column. If clock spring is bad your controls might not work, or airbag light be on.

    Good video. I found the one on my new car is loose or faulty because the buttons won't light up properly.

    Hi I have dodge journey 2011. I have this problem like my car horn and steering buttons not working. But my car horn works when I lock and unlock my car with remote. Is it still problem with spring clock?

    • @GrandSpartan

      It is your clock spring. I had the same issue on my Nissan Titan where nothing worked except the horn when locking/unlocking. I took it to the local mechanic and he said it was a bad clock spring.

    Does this also affect Brake lights ???
    Because I went to my Dealership and I explained that my brake lights keep going out ; they explained that it was the clockspring.
    But I don’t see any correlation with that?

    • @jonah417
      @jonah417 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      doubt it its mostly airbag and horn

    • @guerramaria1975
      @guerramaria1975 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it does not affect the brake lights thats on a whole different system. Clock springs are for airbags horn and other driver functions

      Do you have brake fluid in the master cylinder?

    • @LuckyBeer238
      @LuckyBeer238 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard that sometimes cruise control is in the same circuit as the break lights (as they work together), so there is a chance that the clock spring may be the cause.
