Was playing last night with my friends who have been avoiding the game and we were having a blast on VIP. Also I was think every 50,000 SP should be $10 in currency.
Any update on firefight would be welcome. Classic Firefight mode, new Forge maps to play in, enemies riding vehicles (Wraiths, ghosts, etc.), or anything...

Where is multi-team? VIP is fun when 4-6 teams of 2 or 3 go at it. I don't know why something as basic as multi-team has not been added to Halo Infinite when it was a staple in Halo 3.
As a reminder, you also get about 15k spartan points in each pass, so that 5-month grind is really close to 2 or 3 months. Also, I think even when exchange items rotate out, you can still grab them from the customization menu and obtain them with your spartan points
It also felt good just to grind and play reach, unlocking stuff as time went by. Not the same in infinite. Also, Infinite released as a full game but the devs classified PvP as free to play just so they could charge insane prices on content. They added FOMO for a long time in the beginning, which ruined how it feels to even progress anything, so comparing the two games, one was enjoyable to play daily, the other just makes me shake my head. I’m sure you can guess which is which.
02:21 - Standing desks are awesome. Bonus tip - consider using a vertical mouse, if you spend lots of time at the computer or gaming and you notice that your right wrist is giving you issues. They take about a day to get used to, but I haven't had wrist issues in over 2 years since the switch.
Couple of things Items that aren't visible in the exchange can still be bought in the store with SP. And the math isn't mathing on the grind. More like a 2+ month grind. I'm sitting at 50k + SP after buying a few items.
I hate the fact that you can just buy the helmet. I love a good grind. But i will only do it if i get something special to show for it. When you can just buy it. I dont feel like its special anymore. Its such a shame.
If it were a skilled based grind, like achieving a certain rank, or winning a certain amount of ranked games, then it would be more exclusive. But you don’t want to make it impossible for people who may not be good at Halo but want the helmet.
Honestly, I’m fine with it being both some you can earn or purchase. I believe all cosmetics should be that way. They should have all the items that have been sold in the exchange. Then you can have people like me who gets to play maybe once a week if that who can purchase it should I want to, or earn it if I want to use the credits I’ve earned towards that item. This would make things easier and allow for both free to play players and whales to enjoy the games cosmetics.

I am a fan of VIP, but I don’t like Slayer. I only like Slayer variants with objectives, which is why I like VIP and the Headhunter mode that will be coming out. I will say that VIP can be a competitive mode when teams are actually communicating and strategizing on how to protect the VIP, and the VIP is aware. It’s almost like playing Chess and protecting the King. I would argue that VIP is probably better in 8v8 or 12v12 round based asymmetrical maps, where you have to escort the VIP to a certain spot and protect them for a time to score. There are different variations of VIP. This VIP is more so a slayer variant. The one I mentioned before is more like Evacuation or Rescue VIP, which is one of those Rainbow 6 Siege variants. Now of course most round based objective games have no respawn per round, and I do think that should be considered in Halo, since we do have some social game modes with no respawns. I think round based objective modes with no respawn based on planting bombs or rescuing hostages, transporting VIPs, etc would be really fun, and I think could even one day become competitive Halo, but maybe those modes would have to be 8v8, because 4v4 rounds would be too quick. Something for 343 to consider.
Appreciate the video! Just a heads up that your Spartan point math should have taken into account the Spartan points in the operation pass. Also when things rotate out of the exchange, they're still purchasable with Spartan points.
I couldn't even play the game yesterday. I was on from 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, to 6:00 p.m. Central Standard time. And I only played like four matches. Either I kept dropping out of matches, or I would tell me match found, and then tell me that the dedicated servers were down. And then I would have to restart the game, and do that all over again. After about 2 hours I finally got frustrated
Right, I'm definitely going to waste my money and time on a game that's practically dead and ready to get discarded by microsoft at any moment. I'd gladly buy that bundle for 18$ if the game was actually relevant and promising, but I think I've done more than enough for this game purely out of love and nostalgia for what the series used to be.
Yall guys must have missed the news that Microsoft funded 343 for an additional year, since the beginning of the fiscal business year starts in June if I’m correct. So they actually are giving this new team of 343 a trial run to prove that they can turn it around into something at least respectable. So the game isn’t dead yet, but when people go around saying it’s dead, it makes some people quit the game, which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, leading to the game dying. So the game will live if all this negativity goes away, and the new 343 keeps doing better than the old 343. So just remember that every time y’all go saying, “it’s a dead game,” yall are actually killing a game that is still alive. It’s no different from someone being in the hospital near death, but is starting to heal and has a chance of pulling though, but you just decide to pull the plug and kill a patient that was about to make a near full recovery.
You remember how with Helldivers 2, how the community would make sure to vocalise what they do and don’t like to the dev team? We should do that with 343. They made a good update and we should make sure we tell them that

Good that they remove the Spartan points weekly cap. The problem with the weekly caps is it demotivates you to play more after ypu reached the cap as it does reward you with more points.
They need to make the season 1-3 chest, wrist, utility, and helmet attachments inherit armor coatings. Half of my library is flat gray mush and I'm sick of it. We know this change is possible because modders can enable it by flipping a switch.
Please stop gaslighting 343 "UPDATES"!!! It's the same pig with different lip stick color. Same issues exist that's been there since drop and they don't care or can't fix them. Infinite is dead and they have moved all focus on a new game. I pray they at less learned from their mistakes and don't rush release the new game until it is truly ready to be released.
Now, I ain't *advocating* sandbagging, but the optimal grind is probably playing firefight legendary to lose quickly. Could probably rack up 10-12 matches per hour if the whole lobby is getting wiped in the first or second boss wave.
Haunted was my main in Reach and MCC so I'm just glad I can make my spartan again. Definitely will grind for it as I don't care for the other items in the bundle and it's just too expensive.
Let me guess, the player impulse they have added to grenades to enable grenade jumping only apples to player thrown grenades and not enemy thrown ones... Because when physics are enabled in Halo Infinite they may sometimes lack systemic affect.
They should have two prices for each spartan armor piece, a cheap credit option and a stupid amount massive price for spartan points so you have options and can grind it out instead of always whipping out your wallet
A friend and I hopped for the first time since the Spirit of Fire update. We were actually so hyped to play since launch. I didn't even know you could select gamemodes you want in the BTB playlist. It's a small change but man, for some reason it made me happy and excited. But fucking hell, we didn't play more than 5 matches in an hour and a half for VIP and others. This was because the damn matches wouldn't fucking load! People left and joined repeatedly leaving us no choice but to leave as well. We left more endlessly loading matches than we played. This resulted with us being fucking banned. Immediately we're reminded why we quit this fucking shit game.
Hey man, I think you picked the wrong week to jump back into Halo is all. I can’t tell you how many big time games have server issues and dumb bugs that ruin the experience. This is not unique to Halo. Most times I don’t have server issues with Halo, but then again I’m US East, so I’m in one of the best regions, but don’t judge Halo based on this week please. They probably have most of these issues hashed out by week’s end if not sooner. That’s just typical for patch week in most games.
It’s impossible for my friends and I to all load into a game with a fireteam larger than 4. We’re an 8+ person group on any given night, so this is a massive fucking issue for us.

Imagine celebrating a dev team finally listening to fans 3 1/2 years after release. Said it before and I'll say it again, 343 d-riders like Kevin are the main reason halo is dead and has no chance of revival while fans like Kevin still exist and while 343 are still in charge of halo.

Forced player interactivity is always a negative. The fact you have to grind for 6 months as a casual player to get 1 item out of the exchange is ridiculous. They've done everything they can to over-monetize this game and all it has done is add to the incredible number of failures across the board, ultimately killing Infinite years before their "10 year plan" concludes. I was interested in maybe coming back, but with the stranglehold of keeping players at a 50% winrate, and now this, I'd rather just go find another studio that doesn't punish their player base for playing their game. Good video, just terrible studio.
I understand your frustration with the Sbmm, but when it comes to an item that can take up to 6 months to grind for, a good amount of comments on a lot of videos literally asked for an obnoxious grind, because it brings them back to the good old days when they had to grind for that helmet in Reach 😂. So you can’t blame 343 for that.
@@Eastra3 the Spartan points should have been available a long time ago for this game, the only way you can buy it is if you complete the three operations that literally give you 75k SP assuming you didn't spend any of it, their entire system is dumb and is a perfect example of being too little too late
@@Eastra3 the key difference here is that Bungie did not Implement a progression system however long after release the credits were available to unlock day one unlike Spartan points. And they gave you the choice to unlock which pieces of armor in whichever order you wanted to purchase them and more would be available when you would rank up. You could also put multiple attachments on your helmet unlike finite
I played one ranked tdm match and it was laggy and so much desync. Nah. All set. Already uninstalled it again. What a shame. What happened to the new netcode? I remeber just 2 nights after. The game ran bad again and I hop on and it is even worse. I lost faith. Halo is dead to me now. This is disgusting. They are adding cool stuff and all that but dude. I want my bullets to actually work which they don't. Pass. Sad af about it. 😢

Yeah I talk about that in the video. Though 343 does deserve praise for making a desirable helmet available in the shop and exchange. Though the update was light on things to do besides VIP but I don't really consider that mode something that would bring players back.
My grind will be alot shorter since I've been buying every operation to keep it from disappearing on me but have grinded most of them, so there's a mountain of spartan points for me to earn there

I play a lot. the servers have been so bad the last week or so. Yesterday was the worst. I only played like 4 games in 2 hours.
Since this update the game always crashs while loading the map.

Hey man, I think you picked the wrong week to jump back into Halo is all. I can’t tell you how many big time games have server issues and dumb bugs that ruin the experience. This is not unique to Halo. Most times I don’t have server issues with Halo, but then again I’m US East, so I’m in one of the best regions, but don’t judge Halo based on this week please. They probably have most of these issues hashed out by week’s end if not sooner. That’s just typical for patch week in most games.
It’s impossible for my friends and I to all load into a game with a fireteam larger than 4. We’re an 8+ person group on any given night, so this is a massive fucking issue for us.

They did put decent armor in the exchange finally and VIP is fairly polished as a mode. I wish we got a new map too tho especially with the knowledge of like 4 forge maps that are all done and just sitting around
Not a fan of the new VIP like it better before where you had to actually be more strategic when the round would end , everyone I’ve played with so far treat it like slayer no care in the world

Imagine celebrating a dev team finally listening to fans 3 1/2 years after release. Said it before and I'll say it again, 343 d-riders like Kevin are the main reason halo is dead and has no chance of revival while fans like Kevin still exist and while 343 are still in charge of halo.
I don't play halo infinite anymore as it is too sweaty and not enjoyable

They get away with it because of people like him, Mint Blitz, UberNick etc. The never-ending sugar coating and ass kissing from these guys is partially why 343i hasn't been shut down.

Forced player interactivity is always a negative. The fact you have to grind for 6 months as a casual player to get 1 item out of the exchange is ridiculous. They've done everything they can to over-monetize this game and all it has done is add to the incredible number of failures across the board, ultimately killing Infinite years before their "10 year plan" concludes. I was interested in maybe coming back, but with the stranglehold of keeping players at a 50% winrate, and now this, I'd rather just go find another studio that doesn't punish their player base for playing their game. Good video, just terrible studio.
I understand your frustration with the Sbmm, but when it comes to an item that can take up to 6 months to grind for, a good amount of comments on a lot of videos literally asked for an obnoxious grind, because it brings them back to the good old days when they had to grind for that helmet in Reach 😂. So you can’t blame 343 for that.
@@Eastra3 the Spartan points should have been available a long time ago for this game, the only way you can buy it is if you complete the three operations that literally give you 75k SP assuming you didn't spend any of it, their entire system is dumb and is a perfect example of being too little too late
@@Eastra3 the key difference here is that Bungie did not Implement a progression system however long after release the credits were available to unlock day one unlike Spartan points.
And they gave you the choice to unlock which pieces of armor in whichever order you wanted to purchase them and more would be available when you would rank up.
You could also put multiple attachments on your helmet unlike finite

I played one ranked tdm match and it was laggy and so much desync. Nah. All set. Already uninstalled it again. What a shame. What happened to the new netcode? I remeber just 2 nights after. The game ran bad again and I hop on and it is even worse. I lost faith. Halo is dead to me now. This is disgusting. They are adding cool stuff and all that but dude. I want my bullets to actually work which they don't. Pass. Sad af about it. 😢
Do you know what your ping was? Important to have that turned on for your UI settings

Yeah I talk about that in the video. Though 343 does deserve praise for making a desirable helmet available in the shop and exchange. Though the update was light on things to do besides VIP but I don't really consider that mode something that would bring players back.

My grind will be alot shorter since I've been buying every operation to keep it from disappearing on me but have grinded most of them, so there's a mountain of spartan points for me to earn there
Just from the 3:00 that gives you enough for the helmet and that's not really much of a flex considering that I completed those operations to and I didn't even buy them complete waste of money in a perfect example on why the gaming industry is the way it is because people like you
