What I enjoyed most about it, is the fact that he did his OWN show, didn't bring anyone else in (although if Daft Punk popped up that would've been really cool), change outfits, etc., knowing that some people wouldn't like it, and I know not everyone is a fan of him and is entitled to their own opinion, but I thought what he did was great because he stuck to his vision and incorporated a lot of things from After Hours into the performance which made it very unique, not like ones we've seen in years past, and you could tell he was genuinely having fun and taking it all in the entire time. You just have to be happy for the man, coming all the way from that grainy camera phone in Dundas Square, to the Super Bowl, it's actually very inspiring when you really think about it.
Bruh some magazine in Germany just made a headline "the weeknd half time show flops" and then all they showed were two tweets with a total of 10 likes and some semi famous German guy said he didn't like it because it had "no atmosphere" acording to him. i really enjoyed it. the transitions, lighting, choir, violins and i also peeped that the extras were wearing face masks😹 that was smart. it's just some of the vocal inflections were throwing me off and the bunch of ablibs he had to throw in to compensate for the moments where there was actually no words being sung in the song. loved the songs. loved the mind behind it. love the artiste and excited for what's next for him.

I personally loved the halftime show. The man has amazing vocals. House of Balloons transitioning to Blinding Lights was EPIC. That fact that he played a song from his first mixtape & then right after to his greatest record breaking hit just showed that he did this performance for his fans and his XO fam only. He really cares about his fans & I will always respect him for that.
Nah it was about 14 minutes the performances are usually 13-16 min long. He sped up the tempo some of the songs in the first half of the performance and didn’t have a guest artist to fill up to the full 16.
I noticed over the years that his mic would be a bit low on a few of his performances but I feel like that's to blend in with the beat. You cant forget that his music isnt only based on his voice with a random beat behind, it plays a huge part in his music as well. Other than that, that was amazing!

Unbelievable that many ppl are hating this coz this became more of a visual show rather than a performance show. Hey, lemme tell you that he add more performance show as well, like the gospel Call Out My Name and the transition from House of Balloons to Blinding Lights. He never leave those but what he did was added more visual show to it, and i think it creates a more mesmerizing atmosphere and it's an ode to the music videos that he made in 2020. He also had COVID restrictions that none of the past halftimes had, and he even paid like around $7-9 mil for this halftime show. Let's not forget where he came from, where he became homeless and just going around Toronto and sing, and the fact that he made this far from his career, being on the halftime show is his peak right there. Just think about it.....
I think what people usually don’t get about abel is that, he is not making music just for entertain you know people saying “he can’t dance.. and just because of that he’s not an artist” and I wanted to said so what? I personally loved the halftime show. The man has amazing vocals. House of Balloons transitioning to Blinding Lights was EPIC. That fact that he played a song from his first mixtape & then right after to his greatest record breaking hit just showed that he did this performance for his fans and his XO fam only. He really cares about his fans & I will always respect him for that.
I wasn’t even aware that some people didn’t like the performance until reading these comments. I may be biased, but I thought it was great.
The mic quality and audio mixing was ASS

Nah it was about 14 minutes the performances are usually 13-16 min long. He sped up the tempo some of the songs in the first half of the performance and didn’t have a guest artist to fill up to the full 16.
They shouldn't have given him a half time.

I noticed over the years that his mic would be a bit low on a few of his performances but I feel like that's to blend in with the beat. because people think that changing your outfit so many times, swinging from stuff, and doing cartwheels, is what makes a good performance not realizing that we are still in a pandemic, and had to do with what he had. also sometimes all the extra stuff overshadows what people know singers for, actually singing.

Unbelievable that many ppl are hating this coz this became more of a visual show rather than a performance show. Hey, lemme tell you that he add more performance show as well, like the gospel Call Out My Name and the transition from House of Balloons to Blinding Lights. He never leave those but what he did was added more visual show to it, and i think it creates a more mesmerizing atmosphere and it's an ode to the music videos that he made in 2020. He also had COVID restrictions that none of the past halftimes had, and he even paid like around $7-9 mil for this halftime show. Let's not forget where he came from, where he became homeless and just going around Toronto and sing, and the fact that he made this far from his career, being on the halftime show is his peak right there. Just think about it.....

I appreciate this review dude. I was on twitter the night of and thought I was alone in thinking it was pretty solid.
I think what people usually don’t get about abel is that, he is not making music just for entertain you know people saying “he can’t dance.. and just because of that he’s not an artist” and I wanted to said so what? I mean how many of you really dance. We have sometimes to understand that they are people too and they feel fear to go on a stage.
And, he is not making music, for you or for me, he is making music about what he feel and people like it or at least I like it.
