Thanks Ryder for the reminder! Your videos are like therapy for me and always have a way of bringing me back to what matters. There is so much noise in the world and your words remind me to slow down and be intentional.
Paper all the way! It’s slower, more deliberate. Currently I’m on holiday in Thailand with my wife and kids, so I’m now just journaling in my BuJo. When back in The Netherlands, it’s back to the bullet journal method! 🇳🇱 ☀️
I remember this being explained in an earlier video, this time put into the context of digital habit tracking. Setting the intention and then reviewing it is way more powerful than any app. Looking forward to having all these new notions in a second edition of The Bullet Journal Method.
For the longest time I used journaling (full on writing) as a means of processing my day and needed tasks. I lived in NY, and had a roughly 45 minute commute where I could do that. It took me a while to figure out that my commute was forcing me to make time every day, and now I had to do it on my own, but I’m getting there. It’s not easy, but it is possible
This is so helpful. For a while now, I’ve been wanting to tie my intentions to my habit tracker, but I wasn’t sure the best way to do it, so thank you for this video!
I have a lot of competing responsibilities including eldercare. In my task tracker I have categories like "Mom", "Unexpected (category)" and "OMG Life WTF" which is where I track the times I just hit a wall or burnout catches up with me. That really helps me see where my time went, be gentler to myself, and try to make things more sustainable. I really like your idea for the habit tracker, they have never worked for me on paper or digitally. Going to try the week by week method on paper and see if it sticks better.
Oh I'll give it a try! So far no table tracking, app tracking did it for me. I almost always forgot to track and didn't bother later. This looks sensible and promising.
I have bought numerous journals. They are all still blank now for months or even years. I watch these great videos and hope to just get into the habit of putting a dot on the paper and assigning a task to it. How do good intentions get translated into physical actions? Oh, me!
I love the original bujo but can you please start selling them in a lot of different colours, I would love to have different colours per journal, preferably in light pastel like colours or even rainbow colours to add a variety of colour in my bookcase. And it would be really nice to have the pocket bujo’s in matching colours.
Is there a way or a system to bring both together. Digital and manuel. I’ve come back to bullet journal so many times but always veer away and down the tech space. My big habit I need to get right is water intake. I have ADHD and often get into a cycle of hyper focus and forget. I need to find a better system
The constant jumping of this video from one scene to the next within seconds makes it impossible for me to watch. This is different from all the other BuJo videos I've seen, and I'm not in favor.
Thank you for a look into how _you_ use your own system. I have a genuine question: How does this work for those of us who will _never_ look back at past completed tasks or days/weeks gone by? If each new page is filled with that day's tasks, and any unfinished from yesterday, any older days are ancient history. I burn down 20 tasks, and 50 new ones come in and replace them. I'll quite literally never look at last week or last month or even this past year. It's already done, gone, completed and immutably set in stone. My calendaring is so dynamic, that writing it down on paper would become out of date only a couple of hours later. Tasks I planned to complete in a block of time would have to get moved to tomorrow, bumping something already there, out of the way. This means I'd need an almost fully digital variant of BuJo to make it work for me. I do keep a Moleskine Cahier notepad with me at all times for quick capture of tasks, completely unfiltered, unsorted, uncategorized, and I burn those down as I can, or I put them back into my digital system to track them (ClickUp at the moment). I've seen so many different ways of using BuJo, from the 'scrapbook' style for creatives, to the more minimalist style for executives, but they all seem to codify this 'reflect on the past' ethos, and that's just never possible in my world. How does this fit into the world of a busy, high-technology executive? Thanks in advance for any input and insight you can provide!
I'm almost there; downloaded it a few months back, figured out that non-consecutive uses wouldn't penalize my XP gain, so I either loaded it up with less meaningful habits to spam XP, then take long hiatuses, to keep that XP. 😅 Loved incorporating a habit tracker on the monthly log timeline, seeing patterns and possible reasons or explanations for them. I think the only reason why I haven't deleted Habitica is because Bullet Journaling has helped to reduce screen time.

I found trying to track in both the physical and digital space meant I couldn't keep up with either. YMMV. Have you found a hydrating drink that you enjoy? It doesn't have to be plain water.
A good digital calendar really can replace most productivity and tracker apps. Look for a digital calendar that can combine both calendar and tasks/reminders. Eg, Google Calendar and Tasks, Samsung calendar and Samsung Reminders, Outlook and ToDo, or for Apple, Fantastical. Put your calendar in Schedule View on your phone, which helps massively with overwhelm. Add entries for things you do, as you do them; or to schedule things, in quick bullet points - quick and easy. Referring to your digital calendar, with tasks in the same scroll, helps to recall details for regularly updating a bullet journal. Or your bullet journal may inform your digital calendar when you review your week and plan your next week.

The habit system with the dots for the wishful days is so smart! Hopefully ill remember it by the time I'm ready to use a physical book again

Glad it can be helpful :)
2:28 this hit me like a ton of bricks. I struggle with New Notebook Syndrome so I love this concept! A new chapter ✨️
Glad it was useful :)

Report back on how it goes! Sustainability is definitely the key
Thanks Ryder. Simply wonderful!!
Love how much simple he makes these things! Thank you ❤
Thanks for watching :)

I came across a lot of methods that promised to change my life... This one actually did 🖤
This is precisely the video I needed for this moment. Thank you!
So glad!

Tracker apps freak me out!! Just seeing at the number of notifications before opening it 💀
you probably don't want to see my inbox, Fabian
@@bulletjournalsometimes I take an inbox tidying up holiday 😄 no kidding!
Thank Nico💜✌🏾
You mentioned having a pocket notebook when "on the go". How do you combine the "normal BuJo" with this pocket notebook? And what are the benefits?
Next video will be about this

Why is the talking not matching the sound? It is driving me mad.
What app were you using in this video?
There are a few apps - but the primary one is Streaks.
Great!
Note for the picky people: If you divide the week by lining the dots, you will lose the space for an entry in the next week.
Hi, I'm LaToya and I'm a habit hoarder #GoogleSheets 😅
Buying a notebook tomorrow.
Raise your hand if you purchased a notebook after watching this video! 🖐

Please don’t take 13 vitamin supplements a day, if you do you might want to start track your diet for a little bit first haha

Feel personally attacked by the Habitica app clip 😂 I deleted it from my phone after starting Bullet Journal
