One of the things about Dark Crystal that truly made a legendary was that it inspired generations of artists of all sorts from writers to painters to sculptors to costume designers to what would become CGI artists and it wasn't just a story it was the process of creating this incredible world that people saw on screen. I hope Netflix also releases a lot of behind-the-scenes features in fact I daresay that the making of the series alone could be a whole nother series by itself and that too will inspire more generations to come

I have not been this excited over something coming out ever in my life... I thought I was excited over shows or movies before. But I literally started yelling and screaming with excitement and watched this 3 times on repeat! I have the movie on DVD (used to have it on VHS) and I just watched it about 2 weeks ago! I watch it every few months since the day I purchased it. You just don't get this quality of art and craftsmanship in movies anymore. The Dark Crystal, The Labyrinth, and Never Ending Story are 3 of my all time favorite movies I will never stop watching! So beyond excited for this!
So excited for this. Glad I'll get to share it with my children. The movie has always held a special place in my heart, it was one of the earliest memories I have as a child and left a huge impression on me. I hope the series inspires the wonder and awe that the movie did in me.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't incredibly excited about this, The Dark Crystal was my favorite movie of all time and this, this looks so beautifully created that I can't help but feel the same way I did when I was a kid. I am so happy they are embracing the same feel and look of Jim Henson's original!

I think this looks BRILLIANT. For us old timers (over 500 years old) who remember watching the film as a kid, this is not only a trip down memory lane but also sits nicely into my (current) age bracket. When I saw the first teaser images and clip I felt interested but very Sceptic. I felt unsure whether I would feel they did the film justice. The more clips and information came out, the more interested I felt. This trailer officially has me hyped and excited! I adore the amount of work going into it and the Frouds involvement. I mean sure that goes without saying, they have been involved with anything to do with the film. I would like to think Jim would be proud to see his serious world given this much love and attention

THIS is the kind of stuff I want to see. ART that people pour their heart and soul into. So many tv shows and films today are made with the profit in mind rather than what’s behind it. Yup just like Blade Runner 2049 was a passion project and a respectful sequel to a classic. It's not some shitty halfassed lazy soulless moneygrab like Ballbusters 2016, Robocop 3, Robocrap 2014, Last Jedi and all that

The best examples I can think of are Krampus and the Disney Star Wars movies. More Hollywood productions need to follow suite in terms of effects.

I saw the Dark Crystal in theaters in 1982, so I've been waiting 37 years to return to Thra. August 30th can't come soon enough.
