    I have never heard of it. That's what I love about your channel. Always new discoveries for the viewers. There are so many obscure games on the N64 and you cover pretty much the entire library. Plus playable prototypes/betas of cancelled games.

    I'd love a DVD/VHS release of all your reviews when done. Maybe a box set that looks like a 64 game case. :)

      @@n64glennplant it'd be nice to just keep rolling on a screen like a old rental store. Or end of the world it'd be on hand while playing the 64 (hopefully with solar power)
      Before I got my smart phone I had to watch/rewatch these reviews only when around internet. Like friends house or library.

    • @n64glennplant
      @n64glennplant  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@n64glennplant yes I'd do that if i have to when done. :). No pressure on you at all. I'd just love to support ya tho. Sure alot of other physical collector's would too.
      I will be able to see pretty much every game through the reviews. I played a 1/4 of games from the library, if that when younger. I did get the 64 day one and it's still my favorite. I plan on getting a CIB collection.

      @@n64glennplant What are you gonna do when you run out of N64 games I mean there weren't a whole lot? If you go back to the SNES or NES I gotta say I won't be sticking around I hated the NES when I had it and wanted a SMS then I got a Genesis and so far the only two SNES games I've played Zelda on my GBA SP and Chrono Trigger PS1.

    This was one of the first games my mom ever played with my brother and I when we were kids, this was so much fun

  • @slamjackson2137
    @slamjackson2137 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wow, this takes me back. In the early 90s me and my mom used to play “Bowling” on our Atari, which is probably the earliest video game memory I have. When me and my two older siblings eventually got a SNES for Christmas, she no longer played with us (likely due to the quantum leap from 1 button joystick to 8 buttons + d pad). Fast forward to the late 90s when we finally got an N64, one of our early pickups was Milo’s Astro Lanes. Bowling games with mama bear made a comeback and was a nice return to form.

      (Continued, posted by accident, wasn’t finished)
      It’s funny when you find out one of your childhood video games is kind of obscure. I’ve always kind of taken its existence for granted.
      Ironically this is one of the few games that I never traded in during the next gen leap. I’m just gonna assume that GameStop offered me pennies for it and I just said, “Fuck that I’ll just keep it then.” Lol. Always enjoy your channel and genuine love of the N64 hardware.

    TH-cam actually recomended something I wanna see haha. I agree with games developers not taking risks and their being too many clones. I suppose its something to do with them prefering to use pre existing game engines to build their own ones around? I dont know a lot about the tech side but thats my guess.

    • @NathanGatten
      @NathanGatten 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Super Monkey Ball Bowling minigame was perhaps the most crazy version of Bowling I have ever played.
    Never played Milo's Astro Lanes but I can admit hearing about the way you can interfere with your opponent's bowling ball via power ups or items, it gives this sort of Mario Sports title feel to it.
    Better than Wii Sports Bowling more than 10 times over and kinda wished that this crazier version of bowling would have been more popular instead.

    I actually can only think of Saints Row when I think of GTA clone off the top of my head. And I actually really like Saints Row, its unique enough and is more cartoonish in tone in some ways. While GTA has joke and stuff Saints Row will have missions like vandalizing a rivals turf by using a waste water trucks hole to spray its poopy contents all over. GTA doesn't get that goofy really. I think I like GTA more but I still like Saints Row. And I actually like Red Dead Redemption more than GTA as well, so I prefer wild west style GTA at least a little more.
    But when it comes to Call of Duty no I have no interest, at least not now, in those games. I have never owned one and only played a demo once on my brothers console. I was drawn to Battlefield but never got it either, but I would be more likely to eventually try that. And you know I like war history and stuff too so its not that I am not interested in the overall idea, its that releasing it every year and calling it something new when its not. The last few Grand Theft Autos have came out several years apart. Red Dead 2 is going to be something like 7 or 8 years. GTA 5 has been the newest version of that for like 5 years now. Rockstar just seems like and are a much more likable company than Activision or EA.
    The one scenario where I could see trying a Call of Duty game or a few of them is if I did something like this where I wanted to play every game on a system, and I honestly do love modern gaming and I really am not as much of a retro one. So I could see myself wanting to try that for PS3 or PS4. Much like a guy I watch The Mexican Runner who beat every NES game. But I don't think I'd ever have the patience to beat them all, like I would not beat the sports games, and I even like sports but I would have no patience trying to win the Superbowl in every Madden game released and win the World Series in every baseball and so on. I actually am up to a fair amount of games beaten for PS3 and 4, its about a combined 80 right now. This does include remastered PS2 games. But even The Mexican Runner had to play a lot of crappy Arcade ports and outdated Atari like games on his NES crusade. But the PS2 remasters are of good games I didn't play until then, and I loved them, like the Jak and Daxter games,Ratchet and Clank,Devil May Cry and Sly Cooper. So I do like the remasters. Then some PS4 games are games they originally came on PS3 too but again the ones I am getting now are the ones I didn't have for that. Namely Last of Us Remastered, because I don't like horror games and was afraid I wouldn't like it. By the time I decided from what I had heard the version I got was the PS4. And I loved it and discovered it wasn't too scary as I'd thought. SNES had Super Mario All-Stars. No different than a Jak and Daxter Trilogy on one disc.
    One thing I do dislike is DLC. Its an excuse for them not to finish the game a lot of times. They give you something that wasn't finished when it came out some weeks later. I understand sometimes how DLC is cool, and I have liked a lot of DLC, but I have almost never bought it off the PSN. What I do is I wait and see if there is going to be a version with everything on it. It has paid off virtually everytime. Skyrim,FallOut,again Last of Us,Batman Arkham although I am not big on a lot of its DLC, and too many more to name. There is only one game I remember paying for the DLC from PSN and then the version with it all came out, LA Noire. And the DLC in that is substantial, it adds something like 2 or 3 whole new stories (or cases as they are called) that I really liked. But I was upset and wished I had waited for that version with it all. Plus I hate when its not on the disc as with Fallout 4. So thats why I have not got that yet but I will probably give in when its 25 bucks somewhere.
    And I can't lie Glenn, this series is what maybe helped ignite that idea to play everything on a system you like. That and The Mexican Runner, but I knew this channel before I had heard of him, actually probably years apart. And I have discovered my passion is the Sony consoles. And I never meant to be a fanboy. I had an Xbox. I liked it. Then I got a PlayStation and discovered just how much more I liked the controller and exclusive games. Such as me not getting Halo when I played it, not seeing why it was so popular. Then loving the ones I could not play on the Xbox. Not saying I wouldn't mind trying some of their exclusives at all. Just rather spend my money on what I know I like right now. Maybe someday I will get into Xbox more too. But I would likely get into Nintendo more first, like look into getting a Switch or something.
