It turned out just fine, Gretchen, for all the stress and trouble….definitely a happy ending. In full size, the job of the magicians we call upholsterers is simply to hide the edges. Under the trim, under the fringe, under the cording, it can be as ugly as sin (that’s pretty ugly!), but with the staples and fraying, and uneven cuts covered up, it looks like somebody’s Fairy Godmother waved her wand. Just keep that wand of yours polished up and your success rate will remain 100%! As ever, I love it!

I love how you always manage to turn things around, while explaining why you went wrong (which is super helpful for us lesser mortals who may be not quite as courageous as you!) It turned put really comfy looking and the little footrest really brought it together. It’s a joy to watch you crafting and to know that we all have these days when we just won’t let go or give in. We sometimes need these processes to learn new skills and things about ourselves as you say. I’ve tried a few upholster chairs after watching many videos and still found it really tricky but so rewarding. A friend of mine uses an expression ‘stay in your lane’ and I know what she means but what I love about miniatures is that you can come out of your lane and try new crafts and skills and if it fails there’s not much to lose in time or money. Keep on crafting and please keep sharing it all! ❤

I'm holding my phone watching you and my other hand petting my cat. Then liking comments with my nose as I ran out of hands! Cat likes attention. Now she's almost sitting on my head and hitting my face with her tail. Wants more attention. Any pets in the dollhouse or a caged bird 🐦?

When I began knitting again after my childhood days, I read that there was just a certain amount of rubbish that one had to knit before transforming into an expert. I do make a few items and yes, every emotion from despair to elation often arise quickly. Luckily, I'm not yet like King Lear, who died 'twist sorrow and joy' from those roller-coaster feelings. That also happens to me when I order furniture or accessories on-line: joy when the package arrives, despair when I open it and realize that yet again, the scale is either way too small or ludicrously large.
