Thank you for letting us know. I am absolutely heartbroken. I had no idea. I thought she just sort of disappeared from the BBC and channel 4 because that's what happens to women as they age and she never seemed to get quite the recognition that the quality of her work pointed to. Thank you again.
I didn't realise it was so long ago. I am so old now, I say, I think that was 5 years ago, and I get a funny look and someone says, try 12 years ago... Very sad - and Jeremy Hardy - I didn't appreciate him as much as I should have, while he was alive - but a lot of shows he was in didn't reach Australia and I haven't had a tv for a good 10 years. Then there is Tim Brooke Taylor, Barry Cryer, and way back, Willy Rushton - Victoria Wood...

5:17 Angus's glances to camera always crack me up. And I've just realised the differences in performance dynamics -- Paul only ever plays to the audience, never to camera. He seems cut off, disinterested in the millions at home. Live laughs is his shtick. Ian can do both, but mostly audience. But Angus truly works straight to the viewers. He's our pipeline INTO the action. That's what makes him so endearing. He can glance at camera (which Paul mightn't see) which makes viewers laugh, all while Paul is playing the studio for his own aggrandisement.
The only reason Paul wins all the time is he’s a spoiled little kid and he really gets upset about losing whereas Ian doesn’t mind that much and just plays along so as Paul doesn’t have a tantrum and throw his toys out the pram.🤨
Ian didnt use to lose all the time but he's gotten a little older. He has a full-time job editing the very important Private Eye. He still has more detailed knowledge about much in politics but Paul has had time to follow all news. Paul has some absolutely astoundingly lucky guesses and is slightly more witty. I don't think he's disinterested-it's part of his persona. They are both excellent and complement each other very well,
Linda Smith ❤
Still great after 4 years. Linda Smith
Thanks for posting,
Gavins "so I run like hell" excellent 🤣🤣great with Linda
Linda Smith and her pal Jeremy Hardy both lost to us. I miss them though didn't know them personally.
«Ballast for jockeys» might be Paul's all time maddest answer. And that's saying something.

Too soon.
Gavin Esler has been on Newsnight about 12 year ago on the TV.

Did they ever have Kate Adie on HIGNFY? She would have been good on it, and they made enough jokes about her.

Feel better? Hope so😁🤭🤣
Yeah, I find Paul an insufferable twat ... unfunny too.
